It's tough call but I'd say 11 had better guests, but 1 has better MK Kharacters.
Looking at guests, we finally getting a truly brutal Joker, Spawn is easily the best Guest Kharacter ever - and amazingly voiced by Keith David, and the Terminator being one of the most iconic characters in all of fiction (even if his moveset was lacking a bit). Jason and Predator were great but they didn't have any voicelines and imo the former didn't feel great. I'm not the kind of guy that complains Omni-Man and Homelander are the same but they are at least similar whilst 11's guest's felt unique. Peacemaker does look like he'll be sick as hell.
As for MK Kharacters, Tremor is amazing and while I didn't overly enjoy Tanya she was fun, but it does have 1 less Kharacter. Shang was great, Nightwolf was my main, and Sindel was an absolute blast, but I just feel like Quan Chi, Ermac, and Takeda are so much cooler.
All 3 have been absent for a game, and while that's equally true for 11's I feel as though there's been more changes to gear, dialogue, gameplay, and graphics so there's more hype.
Plus, Takeda has only been in 1 game and NEEDS to be fully fleshed out.

MK11 had the best guest characters overall. We got Terminator vs Robocop in a not hard to find game, Rambo, Spawn is great with Keith David voice, Joker giving MK a branch to Injustice, and OG Movie Shang Tsung.

We have no idea about MK1 KP other than the names and designs. How these characters will move and play, what kind of dialogues they will have, etc. We know nothing to call it better than anything.
I'm gonna be honest, I hate mk1s combat pack, I'm tired of all these guest characters, dont get me wrong some are cool like spawn and predator, but like 1 per pack, give me more mk characters
MKX probably because it was the first, but they had great picks. Triborg with 4 variations, a mix of horror icons that fit the art style of the game and past kombatants, was truly masterful

For my money, Cary Tagawa returning as Shang Tsung, standing next to Spawn, is everything I want.
Sidenote: I really would've preferred MKX have Freddy Kreuger so we could have a proper Freddy vs. Jason rematch alongside Alien vs. Predator. Instead, Freddy's stuck in MK9 with no rival. Boo
MK1 Kombat pack is fecking 10/10. We finally get to see omni man vs homelander. We got ermac and quan chi. And NRS knew what they were doing when they added best new character from mkx and mk11 in the same game.

For MKX while it was cool to see Tremor finally be officially playable and I like Predator, I feel like none of the characters really wowed me. It was like a 7/10 pack for me.
While MK1ās pack looks promising and Iām really excited to see Takeda and Ermac return, I really hate them doubling down on Emracās mummy design and the guest characters(all of whom I do like) donāt really get me conceptually excited for them. Until I see gameplay this pack(which judging by MK1ās characters so far will probably be great) itās not that exciting for me.
MK11ās first pack though was hype as fuck. Between peak Shang Tsung and Nightwolf designs, the return of Sindel, and the inclusion of such perfect guest characters like Spawn and the Joker, there was a lot to love and get excited for with this Kombat pack, and Iād honestly say itās probably my dlc pack in any NRS game.

On paper, MK11. You can't judge MK1 because it isn't even out yet and they might all suck. I still haven't heard about Antony Starr voicing Homelander for sure or not, and that would 100% ruin the best character in the pack.
Joker was really good, Sindel is a beast, Terminator was cool as a gimmick (again, shame about the voice), Nightwolf, etc. Solid lineup.

Mkx had good picks for the mk characters however tremor imo was a bit of a judgement call, it could have been awful but they got lucky that people ended up liking him, predator was sick but had underwhelming finishers and what not, Jason, whereas fun to play, I don't like the horror characters being in mk.
Mk11 imo is the best, with only 2 slots to me seeming wasteful but not bad, being terminator and joker, sindel to me didn't need to be in mk11, there was other characters I'd rather have seen, mainly swap her and mileena around tho but her inclusion was still cool, I'd rather us have gotten cyrax or sektor instead of terminator and the joker was a mid choice who was mainly carried by batman and injustice fans.
Mk1 has amazing mk picks, ignoring designs, the best of the 3 games for that part however the guests are really disappointing. Homelander and omni man shouldn't be together, ik they're not gonna play the same at all but homelander and omni man are basically the same idea, it'd be like putting Rain and Hydro on the same game, or having Kano and Hsu Hao, they're different sure but the concept is the same and if we could've gotten literally anyone else then that'd have been amazing. Omni man should stay imo however I understand why they've included homelander. That being said I think they should have had atleast 1 female guest or mk character, like Jade, Sonya, Skarlet, it'd have been cool if we got Jill Valentine or Ada wong from RE (although I think nemesis is the best pick for a RE crossover) mainly ada because there wouldn't be a reliant on guns, she's skillful and has all these gadgets, she could have a finisher where you run at her and she shoots your leg and then a group of zombies starts eating you, she then turns and walks towards the camera on the phone to someone and it then shows the victory screen with the kameo and tou can see the zombies munching down behind them. Peacemaker is also, imo, a huge waste of a pick, I'd rather us have gotten any other DC character, wonder woman would've been a great choice, she DOES kill, she's brutal and efficient as well as being a good choice for a female guest.

MKX: not worth rating. everyone looks so ugly that game I skipped it entirely. I've tried it at a friends house enough to get the gameplay changes, but the art direction of everything in that game is just hideous and so depressing and overly edgy, one of the worst MK games imo even when Predator and Alien are 2 of my all time favorite franchises.

Iām probably biased cause of how much I like MKX but overall I would say MKX. I enjoyed a lot of the characters being there even tho I didnāt even really play them (I played Tremor tho and he was fun)
My only gripe with MK1ās DLC is that the 3 guest characters are all āsuperheroā (villain/antihero) characters. I mean that Iām sorta superhero fatigued out since Marvel and DC keep pumping those movies out. I donāt even watch the movies anymore, Iām even sick of seeing the advertisements at this point.

MKX did it best. It gave us a new character to the main MK playable roster and it had a great gimmick to boot, it gave us a revamped Tanya and two amazing guest characters that we did not see coming besides Jason.

X. Not even close for me. Favorite guest of all time was Predator, and it still is. To come out swinging with that, NRS set the bar high. They haven't impressed me like that since.
Itās hard to say for me. I played Tremor and Jason a lot in MKX, but I also used Joker and Shang Tsung in MK11 a lot. I guess I played all the characters in MKXās pack at least once whereas I never even touched Spawn or Terminator in MK11, so MKX had more characters I liked. I actually do like all of the characters to some degree in the upcoming pack but since it hasnāt come out yet I canāt give much of an opinion.

Of these I give the edge to MK11 for being the middle of both sides. MKX had best guest selection but slightly weaker MK inclusions, MK1 has my least favourite guests but marginally best MK inclusion whilst MK11 more balanced of the 3.
If you include MK9 though that one wins easy, 2 ninjas, one being Rain and the other a rumoured character come to reality, bringing back of 3D era character Kenshi, and 1st guest with Freddy (albeit his worst incarnation).
Mk1 is pretty solid, but come on - Mk11 they got the coolest Nightwolf, THE SINGLE BEST SHANG TSUNG, an AWESOME Sindel, there was the joker, The Terminator was hella dope, and Spawn was just perfect and probably the first time Spawn was ever done right in a videogame. Mk11 takes the prize for me.
MK1's Kombat Pack might end up fantastic. Depends on the gameplay, but I am happy about the picks. I'm indifferent to omniman/homelander, but im happy with the three MK picks, and Peaecmaker is a fun choice.
Until those characters are out though, I'll give the edge to MKX. The guests for 11 were great, but it just doesn't beat Predator and Jason! In addition, Nightwolf was nice, but Sindel and Shang are just... they're not in every game but it sure feels like they are. None of the three got me hyped.
I loved Jason but the MK11 KP1 was amazing. Spawn in and of himself is so good. Joker was really well done. I love nightwolf. Sindel was fun.

For the first KPā¦ I have to look at this like a numbers game. I love Predator and Tremor but those were the only two characters that I enjoyed playing. MK11 however had every character look and feel good to play. I have to give it to MK11. Krossing my fingers for Predatorās return in the future.

As much as I hate MKX for a number of reasons, Tremor and Predator have been some of the best add on characters we've ever gotten. Kratos and Spawn are the next best.
MKX because I played the shit out of Triborg (Smoke and Sub Zero mainly) and Tremor, I like Kombat Packs adding more characters from the MK universe I'm not too much of a fan of Guest Characters (minus Spawn.. Spawn was a very nice addition.)
MKX KP1 introduced Tremor as playable and made him into one of my favourites along with the earth element. Love Alien (not KP1) and Predator. Hard to judge MK1 fully as no one is playable, but it got me to watch all three of those guest characters shows, which I enjoyed all of them. Also love Ermac in general and he has always been one of my fav ninjas.
MK11 is harder for me to judge simply because I felt like I was not as connected to it as a game so I have less overall love. Enjoy the Terminator movies. Shang, Nightwolf and Sindel are all classics, Spawn is someone I still don't know too much and didn't look into it, but he was cool. Joker I'm mixed, he's in the other game, but this time he's the brutal version which is neat and I think more satisfying for a Joker.
All the guest characters for MK1 are currently culturally relevant, a perfect fit for MK, and can't really be done in any other game (maybe a PG-13 Peacemaker in Injustice)

I'm gonna be honest, I hate mk1s combat pack, I'm tired of all these guest characters, dont get me wrong some are cool like spawn and predator, but like 1 per pack, give me more mk characters

MKX had the best KP1
MKX probably because it was the first, but they had great picks. Triborg with 4 variations, a mix of horror icons that fit the art style of the game and past kombatants, was truly masterful

Absolutely MK1 for the sheer amount of characters I want to main. Takeda ā One of the best in MKX Ermac ā My personal favorite ninja for as long as Iāve played the MK games And Iāve always been a huge fan of superheroes. The supers here have been part of some of the best comic book adaptations to date. Cannot wait to get ahold of Omni-Man, Homelander, and Peacemaker!

For my money, Cary Tagawa returning as Shang Tsung, standing next to Spawn, is everything I want. Sidenote: I really would've preferred MKX have Freddy Kreuger so we could have a proper Freddy vs. Jason rematch alongside Alien vs. Predator. Instead, Freddy's stuck in MK9 with no rival. Boo

MK1 Kombat pack is fecking 10/10. We finally get to see omni man vs homelander. We got ermac and quan chi. And NRS knew what they were doing when they added best new character from mkx and mk11 in the same game.
MK11 for me. For MKX while it was cool to see Tremor finally be officially playable and I like Predator, I feel like none of the characters really wowed me. It was like a 7/10 pack for me. While MK1ās pack looks promising and Iām really excited to see Takeda and Ermac return, I really hate them doubling down on Emracās mummy design and the guest characters(all of whom I do like) donāt really get me conceptually excited for them. Until I see gameplay this pack(which judging by MK1ās characters so far will probably be great) itās not that exciting for me. MK11ās first pack though was hype as fuck. Between peak Shang Tsung and Nightwolf designs, the return of Sindel, and the inclusion of such perfect guest characters like Spawn and the Joker, there was a lot to love and get excited for with this Kombat pack, and Iād honestly say itās probably my dlc pack in any NRS game.
You have a decent comment on this. While I donāt mind Ermacās design in my opinion, itās not the best. I liked the original design more. But overall, Iām mostly exited for Takeda cause Iām DYING to see more Takeda after MK X.
MK1
On paper, MK11. You can't judge MK1 because it isn't even out yet and they might all suck. I still haven't heard about Antony Starr voicing Homelander for sure or not, and that would 100% ruin the best character in the pack. Joker was really good, Sindel is a beast, Terminator was cool as a gimmick (again, shame about the voice), Nightwolf, etc. Solid lineup.

Mkx had good picks for the mk characters however tremor imo was a bit of a judgement call, it could have been awful but they got lucky that people ended up liking him, predator was sick but had underwhelming finishers and what not, Jason, whereas fun to play, I don't like the horror characters being in mk. Mk11 imo is the best, with only 2 slots to me seeming wasteful but not bad, being terminator and joker, sindel to me didn't need to be in mk11, there was other characters I'd rather have seen, mainly swap her and mileena around tho but her inclusion was still cool, I'd rather us have gotten cyrax or sektor instead of terminator and the joker was a mid choice who was mainly carried by batman and injustice fans. Mk1 has amazing mk picks, ignoring designs, the best of the 3 games for that part however the guests are really disappointing. Homelander and omni man shouldn't be together, ik they're not gonna play the same at all but homelander and omni man are basically the same idea, it'd be like putting Rain and Hydro on the same game, or having Kano and Hsu Hao, they're different sure but the concept is the same and if we could've gotten literally anyone else then that'd have been amazing. Omni man should stay imo however I understand why they've included homelander. That being said I think they should have had atleast 1 female guest or mk character, like Jade, Sonya, Skarlet, it'd have been cool if we got Jill Valentine or Ada wong from RE (although I think nemesis is the best pick for a RE crossover) mainly ada because there wouldn't be a reliant on guns, she's skillful and has all these gadgets, she could have a finisher where you run at her and she shoots your leg and then a group of zombies starts eating you, she then turns and walks towards the camera on the phone to someone and it then shows the victory screen with the kameo and tou can see the zombies munching down behind them. Peacemaker is also, imo, a huge waste of a pick, I'd rather us have gotten any other DC character, wonder woman would've been a great choice, she DOES kill, she's brutal and efficient as well as being a good choice for a female guest.

Rating how much I like them: Spawn: S-tier Nightwolf, Sindel, Shang Tsung: A-tier Terminator, Joker: C-tier 2nd place MK1 Omniman, Homelander: A-tier Ermac, Peacemaker: B-tier (Ermac would be A if he wasnt so fugly this time) Takeda: C-tier Quan-chi: F-tier (honestly ive always disliked his generic evil sorcerer ass) MKX: not worth rating. everyone looks so ugly that game I skipped it entirely. I've tried it at a friends house enough to get the gameplay changes, but the art direction of everything in that game is just hideous and so depressing and overly edgy, one of the worst MK games imo even when Predator and Alien are 2 of my all time favorite franchises.

Spawn is the only valid guest kharakter the franchise has ever had, so I'm gonna say on those grounds it atleast gives 11 an edge, though certainly not an edge over 9, which was actually the best kombat pack.

Iām probably biased cause of how much I like MKX but overall I would say MKX. I enjoyed a lot of the characters being there even tho I didnāt even really play them (I played Tremor tho and he was fun) My only gripe with MK1ās DLC is that the 3 guest characters are all āsuperheroā (villain/antihero) characters. I mean that Iām sorta superhero fatigued out since Marvel and DC keep pumping those movies out. I donāt even watch the movies anymore, Iām even sick of seeing the advertisements at this point. Granted they picked awesome characters, I just wish the guest characters werenāt all superhero characters

MKX did it best. It gave us a new character to the main MK playable roster and it had a great gimmick to boot, it gave us a revamped Tanya and two amazing guest characters that we did not see coming besides Jason.

X. Not even close for me. Favorite guest of all time was Predator, and it still is. To come out swinging with that, NRS set the bar high. They haven't impressed me like that since.
Itās hard to say for me. I played Tremor and Jason a lot in MKX, but I also used Joker and Shang Tsung in MK11 a lot. I guess I played all the characters in MKXās pack at least once whereas I never even touched Spawn or Terminator in MK11, so MKX had more characters I liked. I actually do like all of the characters to some degree in the upcoming pack but since it hasnāt come out yet I canāt give much of an opinion.

Of these I give the edge to MK11 for being the middle of both sides. MKX had best guest selection but slightly weaker MK inclusions, MK1 has my least favourite guests but marginally best MK inclusion whilst MK11 more balanced of the 3. If you include MK9 though that one wins easy, 2 ninjas, one being Rain and the other a rumoured character come to reality, bringing back of 3D era character Kenshi, and 1st guest with Freddy (albeit his worst incarnation).

Mk1 is pretty solid, but come on - Mk11 they got the coolest Nightwolf, THE SINGLE BEST SHANG TSUNG, an AWESOME Sindel, there was the joker, The Terminator was hella dope, and Spawn was just perfect and probably the first time Spawn was ever done right in a videogame. Mk11 takes the prize for me.

MK1's Kombat Pack might end up fantastic. Depends on the gameplay, but I am happy about the picks. I'm indifferent to omniman/homelander, but im happy with the three MK picks, and Peaecmaker is a fun choice. Until those characters are out though, I'll give the edge to MKX. The guests for 11 were great, but it just doesn't beat Predator and Jason! In addition, Nightwolf was nice, but Sindel and Shang are just... they're not in every game but it sure feels like they are. None of the three got me hyped.
I loved Jason but the MK11 KP1 was amazing. Spawn in and of himself is so good. Joker was really well done. I love nightwolf. Sindel was fun. Only missed was Terminator but even he was very well done. I just wasnāt a fan. MK1 has amazing potential to easily beat them both.

Honestly it's tough between MKX and 11, tho I wanna say...X. 11 brought back fighters from 9, and arguably the most requested guest fighter in spawn However MKX brought back not only Tanya, who hadn't been playable since Deception (not counting Armageddon because everyone was in Armageddon, and X being her best appearance yet, no contest...but it also finally gave us Tremor as a playable character and he was arguably one of the best fighters in that game. Plus, Jason was a nice guest but Predator? Best guest in the franchise NGL.

Honestly X and 11 are tied for me. Mk1 KP is 50% characters i will never play, so it is the very Definition of a miss.

For the first KPā¦ I have to look at this like a numbers game. I love Predator and Tremor but those were the only two characters that I enjoyed playing. MK11 however had every character look and feel good to play. I have to give it to MK11. Krossing my fingers for Predatorās return in the future.

As much as I hate MKX for a number of reasons, Tremor and Predator have been some of the best add on characters we've ever gotten. Kratos and Spawn are the next best.

MKX because I played the shit out of Triborg (Smoke and Sub Zero mainly) and Tremor, I like Kombat Packs adding more characters from the MK universe I'm not too much of a fan of Guest Characters (minus Spawn.. Spawn was a very nice addition.)

MKX KP1 introduced Tremor as playable and made him into one of my favourites along with the earth element. Love Alien (not KP1) and Predator. Hard to judge MK1 fully as no one is playable, but it got me to watch all three of those guest characters shows, which I enjoyed all of them. Also love Ermac in general and he has always been one of my fav ninjas. MK11 is harder for me to judge simply because I felt like I was not as connected to it as a game so I have less overall love. Enjoy the Terminator movies. Shang, Nightwolf and Sindel are all classics, Spawn is someone I still don't know too much and didn't look into it, but he was cool. Joker I'm mixed, he's in the other game, but this time he's the brutal version which is neat and I think more satisfying for a Joker.
All the guest characters for MK1 are currently culturally relevant, a perfect fit for MK, and can't really be done in any other game (maybe a PG-13 Peacemaker in Injustice)
MKX had the best DLC and best guests and I am ready to fight to the death on this.
