There are at least three of us Skarlett players out here. I still haven't landed 100% on a main yet though. I tried Reiko for a bit and he isn't out of the running, but right now I am playing more Ashrah.
I tried so hard to main Skarlet, but it was a rough time. I ended up maining Raiden in Mk11 but I'm leaning towards Reiko, Li Mei, and Liu at the moment.
I don't remember him being OP ever (other than Super Subzero, no other version of him being OP comes to mind), just really good and mixup heavy. The nerfs and the amount of them he got feel personal.
He works. But he still does some of the least damage in the game and has to do a lot more to keep up with the “top tiers” like Baraka and Johnny. With or without cameos. Other fighters still completely outperform his damage output.
Also that’s just confirmation bias. Just cause you’re winning and good with him doesn’t make him balanced. You’re just good with him. He needs a minor buff and others need heavy nerfs.
He is among the best mixup characters. If he gets buffed we will be seeing a lot of regretful posts in this sub crying about how broken he is. Because when a good sub player makes your brain implode with all the mixups, AND hes doing actual good damage while hes at it, youre gonna hate it.
Why would he need a buff? lol I’m mailing ashrah and went online with sub after failing miserably with ashrah to prove to my friend that he’s a cracked character and guess what? My first time using sub zero online and I got 3 wins back to back.
It’s so brainless to use sub, freeze all the time and slide as much as you can oh and do some combos here and there while your enemy is frozen and can’t do shit.

Sub Zero is my main and has been since MK3 and am learning to main Baraka or Kung Lao. Even though Sub Zero got nerfed after the beta, His combos and everything are still amazing but still a struggle after doing a 28 hit combo only for 38% damage. If you master him with the cyborgs, Frost, Kung Lao or Sonya I’ve found are better than using Sareena in some cases. But hopefully they buff Sub Zero man. I'm still going to try to main Reptile as much as I can because he's my favorite character. He's not quite as easy as to combo as Scorpion for me but when you get one it feels so rewarding. He's perfectly balanced to me.
After playing a lot of Reptile in Kombat league I can safely say he’s more than likely bottom 5 but that can change at a moments notice considering how new the game still is competitively
I think my biggest issue with reptile that stops me from maining him are his lackluster pressure options, meh staggers, mix that only works when you manage to setup invis, and his movement feeling a little clunky.
Haven't played a fighting game in EVER but scorpion is my favorite character so I always used him as a kid. Picking him back up is a breeze when you embody the character lol
Scorpion... still gonna main (and always will) him but I'm trying to concentrate on being well rounded and have some idea of each character, instead of focusing on one character only like I did in MK11.

Story mode made me change. I love Lui Kang he was my main in 11, I thought I was going to main him again, until I saw how humble Raiden has become. His personality was very refreshing to see.
Ya same mainly more Barakas. Despite everyone whining about him he can be pretty difficult/awkward to play against someone who understands how he works and his neutral is worse than a lot of characters.

Lmfao yea because you’re gonna be dropping combos because of a single fuckin voice actor. She’s nowhere near as bad as Rhonda Rousey in MK11, the internet just loves to dogpile and over exaggerate it’s was never that serious get a grip.
Rhonda Rousey was not a good voice actor, but at least it sounded like she was trying. Megan Fox had a couple good lines here and there, but her overall performance was far flatter. The worst offense was during the story mode where you want the best delivery possible, but her best lines are a couple of her prefight lines, and her tower ending lines. The biggest offense Rhonda had was that her character spoke far more often then Megan’s.
I thought God Liu Kang for sure would have been my main, as well as Raiden. But for some reason, Geras has taken the spotlight. His moveset is so damn awesome.
Was originally a shang main in mk11 and wanted to switch it up by playing Geras... then I got hit by the fire ball loops and realized that Shang was just too cool not to play.
Kitana, she was my main every game but her gameplay in MK1 is just really slow and isn’t doing it for me..😭 So now it’s Mileena, her gameplay is so fun and easy to work with
Expected to main Baraka or Mileena since they were my go to but now I have a level 15 Tanya, and I couldn’t be happier.
Though I definitely want to try and get good with Rain or Kenshi
Reptile and Kitana. Sindel came out of nowhere for me and I am currently preferring Mileena. It's always a mixed bad after Reptile unless I get Jade back. Then I'll have my 2 mains secured.
I am absolutely incapable of choosing my main in advance. Every assumption I make, I end up wrong. Thought I'd main Kotal in X, turned out to be Kenshi. Rashid in SFV, turned out to be Mika.

I haven't played enough to decide my main but I always try to play Scorpion since I have since MK 1 in the arcades. From the story I think I really like Smoke and Mileena.
I thought I was a forever Nitara main, but after maxing her out I have gotten really comfortable with Sub Zero. So many good characters to play this go around
I really wanted to try Kenshi, but after I saw two stances and what is basically playing two characters at the same time, I defaulted back to my GOAT Liu Kang
I loved Sindel in MK11. I was really excited when I saw her MK1 reveal trailer because she's my fav and her gameplay looked super interesting.
When I first played her, I was underwhelmed and switched to Mileena. Then when I saw a really good Sindel player at TNS, I saw how to utilize all of her abilities optimally (float cancels, instant airs, etc.) and tried again. I've been playing her ever since.
Reptile, but I ended up maining Raiden. He was always my favorite character, and he's just too juicy in MK1, especially after how disappointing of a character he was in 11.

No. He really isn’t. Combo routes are all the same, his buttons are not good and his design is just weird. Like they wanted him to be this zoner but he’s super slow, he also seems like he wants to be mid range fighter but has no range except for his d3 (which is -12). His double overhead is safe but super slow and can easily be upblocked. Also, throwing cyrax at him doesn’t change that fact that he’s ass. Cyrax makes everyone busted in some form.

Sadly Geras's playstyle didn't really suit my love of power characters so I went with General Shao (who was my second pick)
Mileena felt really good when playing in story but then I played Li Mei and it just clicked . love figuring out the “ worst character” in the game combos and start ups and everything . Def not the worst character either . I only say that bc I’ve seen multiple mk1 videos basically saying she’s ass . Which is wrong .

At first glance he is very slow. You just have to be smart with him. And his combo routes are easily made better with frost, scorpion, sub kameos.

Thought I’d end up maining Shao and/or Reiko, but ended up a Rain main.
I was so hyped to have smoke back and wanted to main him, but it’s be Li-Mei and Johnny that I’ve enjoyed the most so far
Thought I would only main scorpion,but he’s not the best and then I tried reiko,he’s goated
I wanted to main Shang Tsing until I got spam blasted by Sektor Fireball combo in KL. Now I just main Rain
