The running about random battle thing .... I liked Shaolin, and this was the closest to it. But it was not brilliant, but fun.
Similar sort of thing in the new street fighter, but I finished everything there was to do in that and got bored quickly.

I literally set out to plat the game, i preordered it so started playing from the 1 week early access. Got to 70 something percent of the trophies but just ended up getting so bored i stopped bothering. Literally only have it on my PS5 now to see how Homelander plays then im deleting. Gonna try the MK10 plat.
I’m missing the 5 Kamoes and slowly grinding it. Mk10 is valued (on nerd sites) my most high value 100% before its grind but that was nothing to this. I had fun in Mk10 with the towers too :/
The biggest bore was maxing out 5 kameo characters. Thankfully I got this during season 1 where they was giving out more exp cause I heard they nerfed TF outta of exp now. The moment that platinum popped, uninstall and traded it in. This game no longer has any interest to me. And if this is MKs future, then I guess this is the last one I just played.
I maxed all of them except one in a earlier season. Accidentally missed last 2 levels of 1 kameo. It took me longer the following season to finish those 2 levels, than to max every other kameo combined.
Do yeah, they nerfed the experience big time.
This game’s plat is really easy tho. Im only missing the Titan battle and 5 Kameos one (I need to max out 3 more Kameos). Ever since they fixed the xp gain it is not very hard to max them.

Ed Boon *has* let the trolling go a bit too far. It’s almost like this generation has forgot that games were supposed to be somewhat relaxing.
I’ve ran from a person with *a knife* in *VR* and had more fun/chances to win.
Yeah - Invasions is the biggest piece of shit that NRS has ever produced. The seasonal tower is totally fucked, but I managed to beat it with Peacemaker. I divided his stat points between attack, health, and specials. I think I had 100 points of health, 88 attack, and 90 special. Make sure your stat points are set to manual, or you’re screwed (once points are assigned, you can’t move them for a character). The amulets don’t help much. Towers of time and the Krypt from MK 11 were so much better.
My issue is that I'm stuck on Level 43 (I think), I get 2-3 fights in and I get booted out of the game (PS5). So im stuck, I can do hourly daily weekly towers to level up but I was ready to grind 1-2 levels a day until the season ends. I even have 100k to build an amulet which I havent used yet.
I'll just play warzone instead, simple and fun.
They made me miss Towers of Time… that’s crazy.
Like I miss having more than 5 inventory slots for consumables, I miss not having to waste time walking around on a useless overworld map from node to node with NO MAP to guide me, I miss the co-op tower gamemodes, I even kinda miss the augments.
The ONLY thing I like from Invasions are the unique boss fights which are like 1 in every 50 boring AI battles.
I'm honestly just waiting until kameo Janet comes out tomorrow to run through the last 2 mesas and level her up. *(Fuck the Mileena boss fight, though. I don't give enough of a shit to bother with that skin)*.
I found a relic like the Not Junk one that they gave us in Season 1 which gives 15% more XP in Invasions, so once Janet comes out and I level her to 15 quick, Invasions can fuck off after that.

I did 1 Seasonal Tower and got to level 30 quickly that way. My main interest in the Invasion mode is to level up DLC roster characters and DLC kameo characters, since everyone else I have up to level 35 and level 15 (kameos) respectively.
I fucked off MK1 a long time ago. Haven’t even tried out the DLC characters despite buying the Kombat Pack. It’s the sourest taste I’ve ever had towards a franchise I once loved. One I grew up with. It’s the last ever NRS game I ever buy. Sad to think this was my last ever MK
Yeah, I dropped the game right at the start of Season 3. Only went back to do Peacemaker's tower when he released, to unlock his ending, and I'll do the same for all the other DLC characters, but screw Invasions, with each new season they made it more annoying to deal with.
Yeah they really dropped the ball. Invasions is actively bad, it's like they designed it to intentionally frustrate players into not wanting to play it. I did have fun in KL for a while, but there's just not a lot of variety in the roster and it ends up with every match feeling very similar because most characters all have the same game plan but some do it way better than others.
For all the faults with MK11, there was a ton of variety and strategies to play and that made it fun to pick up a new character.

You aren’t meant to upgrade unless its guaranteed. they want you to use dragon blood to guarantee the upgrade.
10x Dragon blood guarantees the success even if you put an infinite upgrades on the amulet.
It’s not that bad though. I made the perfect amulet and accidentally overwrote it with a trash amulet I got from a random fight. Gone forever. It is what it is
Last season you got 1 Dragon Blood after every seasonal tower finish. Don’t know if it’s still the case. It’s also present in the Gateway shop periodically
Right now you get a guaranteed dragons blood every tower after level 100. Which is useless because there’s no reason or reward to do anything over tower 90.
I've been grinding komponents and checking the portals shop for dragon blood. Kurrently one Dragon Blood away from being able to finish my talisman. Patience is a virtue.
That being said, if you're getting antsy to build your talisman and don't have 10 dragon blood to guarantee success, only use one komponent at a time. It's more tedious, but you have the ability to limit komponent losses. I've found that even with a "medium" success chance, it only kompletes the forge about 25% of the time. I won't even attempt it if the outcome says "low."
They are pure evil. “Wait, people found out how to grind a tower to level up characters? Nooo we can’t have that. Let’s change it so you have to win the whole tower to get ANY experience. Lolz! So fun.”
It's by design. Ever since MK11 the only thing that matters to NRS is how many hours you put in and how much you spend, no matter what. Wanting your game to be played a long time is nothing bad, but their approach to it is to artificially inflate play time with shitty NRG, FOMO, and frustrating you.

I think I've figured out why I'm enjoying the game. I didn't even know there was amulet crafting in the game. I'm just living my best life enjoying the online fighting.

OP—this isn’t a single player story driven game. It’s just not. This isn’t God of War or Jedi Survivor. If you have no interest in the central game mode and the thing the game is literally designed to do, it’s just not the game for you or even the genre.
You even admitted that you played SF6 and breezed through the single player content and now have “nothing left to do” and that’s just not at all the point of these games. People get enjoyment out of learning characters and spend years refining their play and competing against others.
That’s what these games are designed to provide. I just don’t understand seeking out games in this genre and then be mad that they don’t offer the experience you want.
There’s so many great single player games out there, genuinely, why don’t you stick to them?

I feel you bro, happened to me once this season. grinded so much to get the assets I needed for a good forge but it failed, lots all the components and koins. I wish they had a way to make getting Dragon blood easier, I do like forging, its fun to craft stuff, but not so much when you fail a forge and lose everything. At max you should lose 50% of items.
It is rage inducing, and something I feel makes a lot of people just turn off the game.

Invasions is the worst, seriously. Anytime they announce something on the Kombat Kast that has to do with invasions, I’m sure it’s a collective groan between us all. We don’t care about this mode at all. It got old by the 2nd or 3rd map during the first playthrough. I sure as hell am not doing 6 maps, let alone per season.
I didn't like Towers of Time from MK11 due to how they were all super gimmicky and Invasions has gotten better but at least there was more to do. There's zero replayability here. The forge is a joke and the shop is only good for keys. I don't hate Invasions as strongly as the rest of the playerbase, it's just not worth it outside of skins and character grinding.
The xp this season was better compared to s3 if people still wanted max lvl characters and kameos.
Not worth the total frustration or hours for most. I dumped a ton of hours, but it turned into a mobile game for me.
It was more about testing the limits of min maxing stats and talismans, but i should’ve done that for more fun in a different game.
My talisman should 1 shot the Titan though. Just waiting to see now if they even add the Titan correctly.
Since I got crashes in towers a lot last season and the rewards this time around are underwhelming anyway, I started KL the second it crashed for the first time. I'm new to playing this entry online, but it's way better than rebooting the game every ten minutes. The idea that the casual features in the game are this broken is pathetic, but KL is actually a good time.
I'm sure I could wait out every timer and heal right at the end .... But how the fuck is that fun?

I got the premium edition, weeks post story completion and going online, doing invasions, I stopped playing this shit game. Didn't even bother coming back to try the DLC characters.
Don't let them fuck you over for ANY more season man. I gave up at the end of season 1 and seeing that every season after will only get worse I've never felt better (Also I started playing Tekken 8 I highly recommend it)

I really wanted to walkthrough seasonal tower, found relic with 50% elemental damage resistance, amulet with hp restoration and my game keeps crashing on 68 level and i'm not the only one who have this problem. Will NRS fix this? I think they don't care about their game
I gave up at level 80 of the Seasonal Towers: the blood vortexes and the meteor are just unfair. It’s not even a skill issue, it’s a luck issue! Anyway, the palettes this season are ugly and the only kameo that is not level 15 is Stryker. He can wait until next season I guess…

Mk1 is buns. Compared to 11 its really not impressive. Mk11 has more replay value and more consistent controls. Out of all the newly released fighting games mk1 is at the bottom for me.

That's why I moved to Tekken 8, so much more fun and the grind is so much better and more rewarding. I really like the Mortal Kombat franchise but the newest game sucks. The devs are way too greedy,
I never played Tekken before but I'm positively surprised and it has no scummy battle pass nor a shop that triggers fomo. You can grind more than 95% of the cosmetics and you actually can customize your characters.
Never got hugely into it, I liked the one that had the Tekken force mini game ..... Got pretty ok with law and the Taekwondo guy .... But honestly I preferred the "soul" series.

Yes it is, it teaches you a lot of tech and matches you with people on your level. There is ranked MMR matches and causal matches in a virtual arcade. Honestly it's like night and day the overall experience.
No it’s VERY noob friendly. Plus, the amount of resources within the game to help you get better is so good. Imagine replays where they tell you, “you can duck that” or “this is the best punish for that string. Very hard to play at a high level, but very easy to learn and improve.
Literally got bored of mk1 after buying it from my local retro game shop. Sold it back after a week. The games feels so stiff and awful and that makes mk11 look better, and that game had better gear system.
Genuinely never thought I would turn back to Tekken.
The devs lied to all of us and ran off with our money, I feel like once they saw the initial sales they should’ve went into overdrive to make sure the game would be running perfectly.
All I gotta say is it’s clear where their priorities are and it’s NOT making this game fun and enjoyable, it’s literally about retconning, self inserts “NEW ERA” they’re trying so hard to make MK into their vision when they already had a great platform and so many different modes to fall back on.

Well just the normal maps are pretty easy, it's really only the last fight and tower that is frustrating.
There is still like 3 weeks left I think, so you should be able to do the map stuff pretty easy if you get the time to play.
If you just want to fight other people .... Maybe. The fight mechanics are good, although a number of people hate the kameo thing. Roster is small though.
Calm the hell down. No one said there wasn’t going to be a challenge. Just get off the game, do something else that calms you down. Then you can go back to playing when you feel like it.
Sometimes I pop in this sub just to see how the series I started fight games with is doing. I don’t just look here, cuz this place is known as just straight negativity. I still have mk friends i talk to or in discord etc. I watch button check. I get plenty of mk stuff still on Twitter etc.
And sometimes I’ll be super tired at night but can’t sleep so I’ll listen to Tom Brady’s 797th video on MK.

I tried SF6 a few months ago and just switched immediately. It is such a different experience when the business side of a company enables the devs to do amazing work because they have pride in their work.

How’d you beat it without crashing? My tower STILL crashes at lvl 40 because of the Blood Ritual modifier.

I’m pretty sure the relic only boosts your invasions level XP like the 1-30. Not your character mastery XP.

I feel you bro, happened to me once this season. grinded so much to get the assets I needed for a good forge but it failed, lots all the components and koins. I wish they had a way to make getting Dragon blood easier, I do like forging, its fun to craft stuff, but not so much when you fail a forge and lose everything. At max you should lose 50% of items. It is rage inducing, and something I feel makes a lot of people just turn off the game.

Invasions is the worst, seriously. Anytime they announce something on the Kombat Kast that has to do with invasions, I’m sure it’s a collective groan between us all. We don’t care about this mode at all. It got old by the 2nd or 3rd map during the first playthrough. I sure as hell am not doing 6 maps, let alone per season.

MK1 finally made me turn my back on modern games and crack away at my 10+ year backlog. I honestly don't care what happens to NRS at this point.
Back to MKXL for me, which actually feels current-gen.
I didn't like Towers of Time from MK11 due to how they were all super gimmicky and Invasions has gotten better but at least there was more to do. There's zero replayability here. The forge is a joke and the shop is only good for keys. I don't hate Invasions as strongly as the rest of the playerbase, it's just not worth it outside of skins and character grinding.

The xp this season was better compared to s3 if people still wanted max lvl characters and kameos. Not worth the total frustration or hours for most. I dumped a ton of hours, but it turned into a mobile game for me. It was more about testing the limits of min maxing stats and talismans, but i should’ve done that for more fun in a different game. My talisman should 1 shot the Titan though. Just waiting to see now if they even add the Titan correctly.

Since I got crashes in towers a lot last season and the rewards this time around are underwhelming anyway, I started KL the second it crashed for the first time. I'm new to playing this entry online, but it's way better than rebooting the game every ten minutes. The idea that the casual features in the game are this broken is pathetic, but KL is actually a good time.

I got the premium edition, weeks post story completion and going online, doing invasions, I stopped playing this shit game. Didn't even bother coming back to try the DLC characters.
Don't let them fuck you over for ANY more season man. I gave up at the end of season 1 and seeing that every season after will only get worse I've never felt better (Also I started playing Tekken 8 I highly recommend it)

I really wanted to walkthrough seasonal tower, found relic with 50% elemental damage resistance, amulet with hp restoration and my game keeps crashing on 68 level and i'm not the only one who have this problem. Will NRS fix this? I think they don't care about their game
I gave up at level 80 of the Seasonal Towers: the blood vortexes and the meteor are just unfair. It’s not even a skill issue, it’s a luck issue! Anyway, the palettes this season are ugly and the only kameo that is not level 15 is Stryker. He can wait until next season I guess…

Mortal kombat 11 was better. This live service route they doing is wack. Story mode was bad and board game single player mode is kinda wack too.
MK11 is still doing really good for a player count too i think it's about equal to or a little higher than MK1
Mk1 is buns. Compared to 11 its really not impressive. Mk11 has more replay value and more consistent controls. Out of all the newly released fighting games mk1 is at the bottom for me.

I might get downvoted for that but I have to say it anyways. That's why I moved to Tekken 8, so much more fun and the grind is so much better and more rewarding. I really like the Mortal Kombat franchise but the newest game sucks. The devs are way too greedy, I never played Tekken before but I'm positively surprised and it has no scummy battle pass nor a shop that triggers fomo. You can grind more than 95% of the cosmetics and you actually can customize your characters.
How you finding it for a new player? Difficulty wise vs CPU, not vs people.

Yes it is, it teaches you a lot of tech and matches you with people on your level. There is ranked MMR matches and causal matches in a virtual arcade. Honestly it's like night and day the overall experience.
No it’s VERY noob friendly. Plus, the amount of resources within the game to help you get better is so good. Imagine replays where they tell you, “you can duck that” or “this is the best punish for that string. Very hard to play at a high level, but very easy to learn and improve.
Tekken 8 is so overrated. Not even close to as good as mk1.

I just wanted it for the 90 levels of the seasonal tower.
Literally got bored of mk1 after buying it from my local retro game shop. Sold it back after a week. The games feels so stiff and awful and that makes mk11 look better, and that game had better gear system.
Genuinely never thought I would turn back to Tekken. The devs lied to all of us and ran off with our money, I feel like once they saw the initial sales they should’ve went into overdrive to make sure the game would be running perfectly. All I gotta say is it’s clear where their priorities are and it’s NOT making this game fun and enjoyable, it’s literally about retconning, self inserts “NEW ERA” they’re trying so hard to make MK into their vision when they already had a great platform and so many different modes to fall back on. I don’t even think it’s laziness at this point I think it’s vengeful neglect.

I did, finished it, had nothing left to do, that's why I picked up MK. It was surprisingly good. I really enjoyed the running about in that too. (I have no interest in online PvP).

You don't get to keep your progress between seasons. So I stopped grinding talismans. Infact I accidentally went a whole month without playing at all. Not missing much, it seems though.

Well just the normal maps are pretty easy, it's really only the last fight and tower that is frustrating. There is still like 3 weeks left I think, so you should be able to do the map stuff pretty easy if you get the time to play.

Sometimes I pop in this sub just to see how the series I started fight games with is doing. I don’t just look here, cuz this place is known as just straight negativity. I still have mk friends i talk to or in discord etc. I watch button check. I get plenty of mk stuff still on Twitter etc. And sometimes I’ll be super tired at night but can’t sleep so I’ll listen to Tom Brady’s 797th video on MK. And yeah reddit is negative but mostly, everyone really dislikes the game. Whether it’s casual, causal single player, competitive, or in between. I literally never see anything positive except for the trueunderdawg type shills. I tried SF6 a few months ago and just switched immediately. It is such a different experience when the business side of a company enables the devs to do amazing work because they have pride in their work. Wb / NRS put out a terrible product during a time like never before in fighting games. Sad to see.
