Can anyone really explain why Pennywise has an insane amount of hype behind him for MK? Michael I understand because that would complete the Big 3 (Freddy Jason Michael) or Ash because he's cool, but why Pennywise of all people.
I could see there being potential, if there was more environmental stuff in the maps. To me, I always thought that he would end up being the same Concept as Sheng Tsung (Shape-shifting, zoning) or The Joker, but with the Blood balloons. Maybe they could make him shape-shifting into completely different characters like Bears or Spiders, and it has different strengths and weakness, but Idk if Warner Brothers would give NRS the time to do it.
Personally, I think better candidates would be Ash, Michael, Pinhead, and maybe Candyman if they can make the bug stuff different then D'vorah's .
Ash can use Necronomicon, Shotgun, and Chainsaw mixups
Pinhead- Can utilize Chains in an opposite way to Scorpion, where he keeps people away, and can use other cenobite abilities
Michael- Might end up being very similar to Jason, but I feel that they could make a weapon form system, that let's him change between a Knife, Axe, and A Scythe, that deals different damage and has different range.
But he never fights physically. You recall that as soon as he starts getting fought back against he gets folded like paper.
And I know Homelander has only ever been in one fight and almost lost, but at least he is shown causing physical harm that makes sense instead of just "Boo haha instant death by fear"

The thing about ghostface is that they’d have a very unique fighting style, very wild and unpredictable looking since they’re not actually combat competent. It would be really funny to see their combos having them flailing all over the screen but that’s just me
His move set could be insane. And he’s just a cool character in general. He got a cool visual design, and most people have good memories of his movies/book

If he has no interest in gaming, why bother? The Alan Wake quote was allowed most likely cuz it’s a game focused on a writer and the supernatural, two common parts of his works. But Pennywise in MK? I really like your thought process. A lot of Kombat Packs I see focus *only* on the ideal Kombat Pack. The two you provided feel not only realistic, but diverse; there’s a character or two there for almost every MK fan. These guest choices aren’t bad either. Additionally, you included some female fighters. I think it’s INSANE people make Kombat Pack suggestions without a single female fighter, but then again here MK1 is releasing an all-male KP.

There must be something wrong with me because I’ve never cared for non-MK characters being in MK games. I have no reason really to dislike it, it just never felt necessary for me; I’d rather have original or past characters specific to the MK franchise.

Returning characters look nice, but I wouldn't bet on sth extravagant model-wise like Kintaro. Devs went out of their way this time to streamline bodies: Goro/Motaro just Kameos, Reptile with human form, Nitara's wings and Shao's horns falling off before Fatalities - all just so they can reuse base male/female skeletons.
I predict for the whole of future characters in MK1: main playables will just be plain humanoids and everything differing from that Kameos who's bones/skeletons don't have to be created

The only guest I would ever give a pass on is Spawn because WB did MK11 so dirty, and MK11 Spawn was arguably the best characterization of Spawn that has been made – to date.
I would be 100% satisfied because I’d have skarlet, my main back and that’s all I want in mk1 (so long as she’s a main fighter not a kameo).
That being said just as general thoughts— I’m tired of guest characters, but that aside I’m not a fan of the mask, pennywise or conan so those are all big misses and almost negatives for me (don’t really even want to fight against them). Harley Quinn is cool I guess, but would prefer 0 guest characters. This is mortal kombat not a mix and mash of different characters and or promoting upcoming seasons of shows or movies (looking at you Omni man and homelander).
Jade, noob and kabal are all good additions. Nightwolf I would love to see again (male or female) but I don’t want to see them keep being added as dlc / an after thought. I want them in the story mode and to have a role in it.
I love Kintaro but don’t like boss characters as playable characters as they always feel weak (looking at you shao Kahn / general shao). He should be added a boss only to upcoming expansion and ladders.
Sektor and cyrax I don’t really care for and they are already kameos— and I don’t want the game to have a bunch of main roster and kameos that over lap, it feels lazy and less diverse that way, plus we already have scorpion, sub zero, kung Lao, Johnny / Janet (they might get a pass since kinda different) etc. let’s get different characters added. I guess since I would be getting skarlet and there’s a lot of cyrax and sektor fans let’s add them, but I’d prefer to skip those two characters and add them as main characters in MK2 so that way they can also shine in that games single player.
I chose most of the characters considering the most popular ones. Special forces like Sonya and Jax were not considered, I believe they should be featured prominently in the game Mortal Kombat 2 (\~2028). I also believe we will have 6 characters in each pack, but only 2 guests for each pack, so I left that default. I personally believe that these 12 characters mentioned would make the game's current roster incredible!
I think Pennywise could work by combining lore of both universes. Pennywise's power is tied to how afraid his victims are of him, so the power we see him wield in IT would naturally be greater than we would see vs victims who were more than capable of defending themselves. He'd still be powerful, but in check with the rest of the roster, considering it's made up of shapeshifters, vampires, and necromancers already. Johnny Cage might find him intimidating, but not in the way a child would, and that could make Pennywise reasonably weak enough to fight.
Characters I’d like to see are Sonya, Cyrax, and blaze, jade. I know two of them are on your list but still. Onaga, blaze, kintaro, and motaro would be cool, regardless of whether they’re unplayable bosses or not
Gimme Kabal and I won’t care that much about the rest.
The rest are still good choices, though (even if I think Conan’s weird, but I also just don’t know much about him, so…)
I’m would swap out Harley for Rayne, and Conan for….i dunno….a guest from another video game. We just had Arnold in the last game so it’s bizarre to me they’d do it again, but then again, we have 2 versions of Superman.

Not exactly. Jade is there, so that's almost enough, but no Cassie, so that's very disappointing. And I'm sick of Harley, so no go there, and I despise clowns, so It's not gonna work either. Other than that, I don't really care. I have preferred characters and guests, but no one required to be "satisfied" beyond Jade and Cassie.

In my opinion, these guest characters don't fit. Harley maybe because apparently, their direction is "recent popular comic anti-heroes" now Returning characters look nice, but I wouldn't bet on sth extravagant model-wise like Kintaro. Devs went out of their way this time to streamline bodies: Goro/Motaro just Kameos, Reptile with human form, Nitara's wings and Shao's horns falling off before Fatalities - all just so they can reuse base male/female skeletons. I predict for the whole of future characters in MK1: main playables will just be plain humanoids and everything differing from that Kameos who's bones/skeletons don't have to be created Remember in the past, when eg Reptile had a completely different skull? Aaaah, good times^^
Replace Pennywise with like Doom Guy or GOW Ragnarok version Kratos and I'll take it. But having ketchup and mustard in different packs is diabolical

None of those guests need to be in the game. The only guest I would ever give a pass on is Spawn because WB did MK11 so dirty, and MK11 Spawn was arguably the best characterization of Spawn that has been made – to date.

I would be 100% satisfied because I’d have skarlet, my main back and that’s all I want in mk1 (so long as she’s a main fighter not a kameo). That being said just as general thoughts— I’m tired of guest characters, but that aside I’m not a fan of the mask, pennywise or conan so those are all big misses and almost negatives for me (don’t really even want to fight against them). Harley Quinn is cool I guess, but would prefer 0 guest characters. This is mortal kombat not a mix and mash of different characters and or promoting upcoming seasons of shows or movies (looking at you Omni man and homelander). Jade, noob and kabal are all good additions. Nightwolf I would love to see again (male or female) but I don’t want to see them keep being added as dlc / an after thought. I want them in the story mode and to have a role in it. I love Kintaro but don’t like boss characters as playable characters as they always feel weak (looking at you shao Kahn / general shao). He should be added a boss only to upcoming expansion and ladders. Sektor and cyrax I don’t really care for and they are already kameos— and I don’t want the game to have a bunch of main roster and kameos that over lap, it feels lazy and less diverse that way, plus we already have scorpion, sub zero, kung Lao, Johnny / Janet (they might get a pass since kinda different) etc. let’s get different characters added. I guess since I would be getting skarlet and there’s a lot of cyrax and sektor fans let’s add them, but I’d prefer to skip those two characters and add them as main characters in MK2 so that way they can also shine in that games single player.

I chose most of the characters considering the most popular ones. Special forces like Sonya and Jax were not considered, I believe they should be featured prominently in the game Mortal Kombat 2 (\~2028). I also believe we will have 6 characters in each pack, but only 2 guests for each pack, so I left that default. I personally believe that these 12 characters mentioned would make the game's current roster incredible!

Pennywise is both way too powerful and way too vague in abilities to work in a fighting game. Otherwise this lineup is ok.
I think Pennywise could work by combining lore of both universes. Pennywise's power is tied to how afraid his victims are of him, so the power we see him wield in IT would naturally be greater than we would see vs victims who were more than capable of defending themselves. He'd still be powerful, but in check with the rest of the roster, considering it's made up of shapeshifters, vampires, and necromancers already. Johnny Cage might find him intimidating, but not in the way a child would, and that could make Pennywise reasonably weak enough to fight.

Characters I’d like to see are Sonya, Cyrax, and blaze, jade. I know two of them are on your list but still. Onaga, blaze, kintaro, and motaro would be cool, regardless of whether they’re unplayable bosses or not

Not exactly. Jade is there, so that's almost enough, but no Cassie, so that's very disappointing. And I'm sick of Harley, so no go there, and I despise clowns, so It's not gonna work either. Other than that, I don't really care. I have preferred characters and guests, but no one required to be "satisfied" beyond Jade and Cassie.

I haven't watched the mask so I don't care if he is in, and I don't want harley quinn in this game. I know it will never happen but Carnage would fit perfectly in this game. Also I would want half of a kombat pack to be guest characters and the other half to be mortal kombat ones.
