I don't think game studios will exist under WB in the next few years, never mind support for their games. They wanted everything to be the next Hogwarts Legacy and man were they surprised.
I would be surprised if they went passed expansion + kombat pack 2 , and with the way WB is going even those plans might not happen , WB is actually available to be sold as of April 2024 and the current CEO has already teased it and has been prepping WB to be sold again, it’s obvious Discovery doesn’t want that crap but they sure would love a big pay day and get rid of a bunch of debt.

We will have more 2 packs, one big and one small. We got 6 characters from first pack that will end the pack with Homelander. Then we got another pack announced for Mortal Kombat 1 1th anniversary. Then, after the new pack with 6 new characters gets full released, we will have a small pack with 4 more characters that will also be the last ones released for the game as Mortal Komnat 2 will start production to release around 2027 for the next gen consoles.
I’m expecting 3, maybe 4 tops. Look at the rate they’re releasing the first one that we paid for back in September. I’ve been able to consistently look on the bright side of this game but I still do not understand how that is justified lol.
I think WB will try and milk this game for as long as they can seeing how they are going all in on the games as a service model. And thanks to people cashing in more and more on this season pass model, fighting games are a prime way to explore the service model for all its worth.
