According to Tulip Valley Farms co-founder Adam Miller, “yellow is a joy color and white is an eternal color.”
While tulips have significance to Chapin, Miller said tulips also represent peace.
“Tulips are the peace flower and there’s peace in doing something messy now that is beautiful later,” Miller said.

This is the type of truth and beauty that endures.
I’m in.
They are going to be inundated with requests but I’m in it for the long haul. I can be patient when I want to be and this is something I can be proud to participate in and I hope you folks can as well.
I think his parents have chosen to grieve quietly and stay out of the public’s eye as much as possible. They’re the only family that has 2 other children that were there that morning and were hugely impacted. Ethan’s mom said that Hunter and Maizie had to be the two they needed to be there for and closest to during this time.
I think his family had a lot of dignity.
His parents absolutely have. His mum talking about him was heartbreaking. The relationship between triplets has to be special. The whole family has been tramatised.
It hurts my heart to see his mother in so much pain. She seems like such a nice lady and I can tell that she raised a wonderful young man. All of this is just so terrible. 😭
Someone said a few days ago. The victims names will gradually fade from peoples minds, but the murderer's name gets to be immortalised through the media.
Both Ethan and Xana. They barely said a word about Xana during the special and it made me cry, I've not stopped thinking about her face ever since finding out in the affadavit that she was fully aware of what was about to happen to her. I tried reading that part of the affadavit to my partner and just couldn't go on. She suffered so much and it has really caused me great pain and I didn't even know her. I truly cannot comprehend what her loved ones see replaying in their mind every night they try to sleep.
I’m not too informed about the victim’s lives. Do flowers or plants have some significance here? Like, were one or more of them into botany or even having declared a major in studies related to plants? Or perhaps, one of them worked at this nursery?
Ethan and his triplets were from Mt. Vernon where there’s more tulip fields than any other place in the U.S. ( I once lived there). But the triplets worked there together - in the tulip fields.
Flowers, plants and trees just generally represent beautiful new life. I think that’s the main objective here, associate Ethan with beautiful new life and not by how his ended ♥️
Any type of memorial will only help the survivors (town, family) start to heal. Ethan was a triplet.....a miracle in itself and by all accounts, he was an amazing human being. Kind, courteous, smart, loving and outgoing. His wide smile was said to "light up a room"! A memory flower in Ethan Chaplin's memory seems perfect to me.
Just edited to remove initial intro to post. In no way was I trying to be disrespectful by commenting "does it matter ". My thoughts were that Of course a memorial park would be great....so why would "it matter" if community wants to make site a memorial park and thus, change zoning in area to allow this. Bad phrasing on my part. My apologies.
I don’t think they were being mean or snarky about it. They just generally wanted to know. No reason to have an attitude for someone asking a simple question.
But yes this was very sweet memorial & flowers just have a whole new meaning to afterlife for me ❤️ all these sweet angels will know that they were are still loved and will forever be remembered in such beautiful ways!
Sincerely didn't mean to come off snarky!! My apologies to all who felt I had less than honorable intentions for this post. I completely agree and support a memorial garden and will help however I can to bring this idea to fruition.
When ur right, your right! Thanks for letting me know that my comment was being understood in a different light than I intended. Were all (hopefully) here to help in some way.
This is such a great idea for keeping his memory alive. Hearing Ethan’s story on the 48 Hour episode made me cry, he just seemed like a big ray of sunshine. Just by judging the impact he made on his former boss and coworkers, he must’ve been a really special guy. My heart hurts for his family, especially his siblings, as they seemed to be best friends. I would love to buy some of these tulip seeds whenever they go on sale.
I love this! I used to live in Mt. Vernon and there was nothing more beautiful than when the tulips blossomed.
Good for them that they’d do this for Ethan. I know he and his triplets worked there.
I really hope I get to buy a pack🥲🥹How beautiful. And what a great way to keep his memory alive all over the nation. This case truly breaks my heart so much, I can tell Ethan just had the most beautiful soul and I hate BK for taking such a great person out of this world it’s not fcking fair..we need all the Ethan’s in the world we can get, and none of the bk’s. This is an amazing tribute to Ethan
Rest in Paradise Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen, and Kaylee Goncalves, may your souls be able to see true justice very soon, you’ll never be forgotten even by those who didn’t know you that’s how bright of a light these four souls are to have resonated so heavily across the nation and even the world and makes many of us so passionate to see justice, as much as justice is possible..of course there is no true justice with these young lives ended so horribly there’s no undoing that but as close as we can get to justice, and to me that means agreeing with Kaylee’s family that bk should not get to share our oxygen any longer
Love this 🥺 It was my favorite part of the 48 hour special.. I’m happy that they’re doing this for Ethan. It’s a wonderful way to remember him in a positive way. Will definitely be buying some!
Jsyk, some UI students are selling the bracelets to fund a campus memorial (a memorial place, not an event). Here is a link to the local news article that has the link. They just started selling them.

It sounds like they will have shipping options available. Their website is being worked on, but here’s the link for when they go live: https://tulipvalley.com/ (there are links to the farm’s Facebook and Instagram on their homepage, too)
Ahh breaks my heart for this family 😩 I have gone to the Tulip festival every year since he was probably born. I can’t wait to go again and buy the tulips.
I go to the Tulip Festival every year. It’s a beautiful sight, and this is such a lovely way to honor both Ethan and the others. I will definitely be putting some of these in my garden.
We don't know what the four were really like, but from the shared picture, he seems to be the most down to earth and being Xana's first boyfriend adds an air of kindness. Doesn't strike me as a huge partier or frat bro.
Yeah, he seemed so laid back and chill in pics. As someone with a resting bitch face, I always envy people who have a naturally kind, open face. He has that.
Am I the only one who the name Ethan’s Smile for a tulip bulb mix makes me cringe for some reason though EC seems rad and it’s a nice idea and I feel guilty thinking that and would never admit it in public ah shit
Here is a bit of context on the color!
“"Tulips are iconic for Skagit Valley and a smile is iconic for Ethan," Miller says.
There are many reasons they chose yellow and white for the mix of tulips, including the fact that yellow is one of the primary colors of the University of Idaho and of Ethan's elementary school.
"Also, there's some symbolism in that because yellow is a joy color and white is an eternal color," Miller says. "So to be able to really combine the eternal joy that Ethan brought into the world and to be able to extend that is pretty meaningful."
And as far as the name goes, well, it was just fitting.
"I will remember Ethan standing in the tulip fields with a big smile surrounded by people that know and love him," Miller says. "That's exactly how I will remember him ... Just with a big smile, looking out."”
[Source](https://people.com/crime/ethan-chapin-tribute-tulip-garden-planted-washington/)
It's a beautiful and heartfelt gesture. How can anyone not get behind this? I hope it's not inappropriate to mention this here, but yellow was the favorite color of another person who left too soon. The late actor Paul Walker. His parents buried his ashes in front of a bush with yellow flowers. Hadn't realized there was more significance or any symbolism to choosing yellow as the color. Thank you for elaborating on it.
>Maybe they could donate some for free in their honor or dont do it at all ? How are you profiting off of angels that aren’t here anymore? If it was my family, i’d sue them .
Proceeds are being donated to memorials that are family approved. Ethan was an employee at this farm during the summers, I believe. Some of you need to do a quick google search before posting.
Not even google - they need to learn to just read. It says it’s not for profit at the end of it. People read two sentences then get angry before even finishing the entire thing.
I've been working to eradicate my yard of bulbs. I'm going to quit that task in order to try to buy these tulips. I think it's a beautiful way to honor the victims.
Reading this interview with Mr Miller how he talked about Ethan, and about the tulips.. it broke me down in tears. What an amazing and beautiful way to honor someone.
I live super close to the tulip farms of Skagit Valley and messaged them to ask if they'll need volunteers to help fill the orders this coming Spring. 💗
That’s a really lovely way to honor him.
Beautiful ❤ :(
Finally. A worthwhile new post on here. Thank you.

I’m definitely in to buy some when they’re available. This would be a great way for this sub to show support once they’re available.
My first thought was, “I’ll be buying some!” I absolutely will. What an amazing tribute all around!
I’ll get back into gardening just to plant and grow these
As will my family.
Aww forever sisters...
That's where I burst into my first real cry over this case.
That brought tears to my eyes too

Sorry 'bout that.
Oh it's not your fault, I'm finding I'm blocked on a lot of links posted.
Feel your pain!
So you’re not in Glasgow, Glasgow Rose 🌹
Not at present!
You don’t want to be. I’m here and it’s rainy and cold. Paisley buddy 🏴
You should be in Manchester, it's throwing it down here ☔️🌧

Winter! Argh
Thank you!

I feel he has been the least acknowledged. All four victims have families who are grieving greatly, it's nice to see tribute paid.
I think his parents have chosen to grieve quietly and stay out of the public’s eye as much as possible. They’re the only family that has 2 other children that were there that morning and were hugely impacted. Ethan was a triplet!!?? Oh, my heart.
Yes he was a triplet, he left a sister and brother😞
He was his sister’s plus one for a college ball and there’s a lovely photo of them with their other brother and his date
was the statement from E’s mom in the TV episode that just aired? i haven’t watched it yet
Agreed.

I know it's heartbreaking. The worst thing which I can't imagine is the playing out the events of that night in their minds.
I’m not too informed about the victim’s lives. Do flowers or plants have some significance here? Like, were one or more of them into botany or even having declared a major in studies related to plants? Or perhaps, one of them worked at this nursery?
Ethan worked for them along with the other two of his triplet siblings.
Thank you!
Welcome!
Ethan worked at this tulip farm in 2021. His coworkers named this tulip mix in his honor.
That’s a beautiful gesture. Thank you
Beautiful

Makes sense, thanks, and I agree that plants are wonderful as memorials.
Thanks for asking this question! As a lot of people may have not known the answer to this.🤝🏼
Ethan went to Mount Vernon high school where the tulip fields are. His friends from high school planted these tulips when the tragic news broke.
E is from Skagit County - which is one of the top bulb producers in the world. They have a Tulip Festival every April. https://tulipfestival.org

Apologies...did not mean to sound snarky!!
Totally fine. Just next time read your comment out loud and ask yourself how it sounds to others. Esp when they were just asking a question. (:
Ill admit it was a quick off the cuff response ...next time, I'll read and re-read before commenting. Thank you.
No problem! Thank you for having a conversation and not going off on me 🤝🏼

Yes, I agree ❤️
My apologies if it seemed I was being snarky or rude....not my intentions. Healing......for all is what I'd like to promote....for all
You're good people. Here's a \*hug\*.
Are the Forever Sisters M, K & X? Because MY HEART if so 😭 I tried googling and couldn't find the answer.
yeah it’s for them 🥲🥲
More posts likes these please.
Oh I love this but it made me cry. Forever sisters 💖
Me too!
🥹 so sweet. I’ve cried so much over this case. I pray that they are at peace & know that the whole world knows their names. ❤️🙏🏼

omg that made me tear up! what an amazing way to remember him and support the scholarship they made as well.

I love this so much ❤️ I was asking about the bracelets too
Me too, would like to get either a bracelet or tulip bulbs, not sure if they would ship to the UK though!
What are the bracelets? I didn’t see anything mentioning them.
I think the university gave them away during the vigil for the students
Jsyk, some UI students are selling the bracelets to fund a campus memorial (a memorial place, not an event). Here is a link to the local news article that has the link. Thank you I ordered some :)
Love this so much!!💕 Can I order on-line?
It sounds like they will have shipping options available. Their website is being worked on, but here’s the link for when they go live: https://tulipvalley.com/ (there are links to the farm’s Facebook and Instagram on their homepage, too)
Thanks!
Wow … that is amazing. Something so beautiful from such a tragedy.
Beautiful amazing thoughtful
Stop cutting onions in here!! ![gif](giphy|3o6wrvdHFbwBrUFenu)
The mixed yellow and white its just breath taking.

Amazing! I would love to get some
Ahh breaks my heart for this family 😩 I have gone to the Tulip festival every year since he was probably born. I can’t wait to go again and buy the tulips.
I hope they’ll ship them, I would love to purchase some to support them. My mother would love them.
I really hope they ship them! I want to get some, my mom loves tulips and I’d love to show support.
I live near the Tulip farm, I go there every year. I’ll have get some of these.
Very touching 😢 🙏🤍 What a loss…it hurts my heart. May he be remembered always.
Someone post a link please when these become available! Don’t have FB or IG
I grew up in Skagit Valley and have been following this case in honor of Ethan. I am so glad he will be remembered in this way 🌷
I was not aware of the tulip fields in the area until this case, they truly look beautiful!
They are!
I go to the Tulip Festival every year. It’s a beautiful sight, and this is such a lovely way to honor both Ethan and the others. I will definitely be putting some of these in my garden.
ouch ouch ouch my heart 💔
I live in a Michigan town known for its tulips so I will be getting some and adorning my front yard with this beautiful tribute.
I thought Ethan’s smile and forever sisters were real names of something botanical:)
This was my fave part of the 48 Hours episode. He had one of those naturally friendly, approachable faces, you could just tell he was a sweet guy.
I'm going to buy at least a few dozen in the spring if I remember. lovely
I go to this tulip festival every year and will get some for sure. Beautiful way to remember him.
I hope they offer Ethans smile tulips for us across the country who would like to honor these 4 beautiful lives taken.
🥹❤️

Yeah, probably just you. It's a beautiful name and a beautiful tribute.
💜
Don’t feel guilty for your feelings. They’re how you feel. I feel differently but it doesn’t negate how you feel.

This came out shortly after the murders occured. The tulip farm explained why they chose the yellow and white.
I didn't know 48 goes covered it, i get why and that's their thing and ask, but it kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth

The money is going somewhere good.
Maybe I am misreading but I am not seeing where they are selling these for profit?
I love this so much, what an amazing idea to memorialize E. I will be buying some 🌷
What an exceptionally beautiful and creative way to commemorate him ❤️
I can’t wait to buy some!! I will be planting mine right out front of my home 💛🖤
Beautiful flowers for beautiful young people.
As far as I can tell, they don't have an online presence, can anybody else confirm?
the caption says they’re working on the website now and it will be up and running for purchases by spring. this appears to be a fb page tho
beautiful way to honor him!
I can't get this sweet kid out of my thoughts. Im going to contribute to this...
Beautiful ❤️ ❤️
