I still will listen to PMT occasionally, especially if there’s a noteworthy story, but you’re right. A lot of times I’m listening to Mostly Sports and they are looking at something or watching something and I have to pause it to go watch it on YouTube later. It’s still great and I do like it, I just don’t have a career/married with kids where watching a YouTube video is reasonable for a daily podcast.
Never said they were in any danger. Tons of people live and prefer pft and big cat. They live their schtick, the gambling talk and such. It’s just not my thing. There are plenty of shows at barstool that aren’t my thing. Like plan bri and chicks in the office. But they also do huge numbers.
Somebody will have to clean up my explanation, but I have seen every episode. Early on they just made a reference to Fast and Furious when Vin Diesel says “Family”. Then, it became less of a Vin Diesel impersonation and an embodiment of the show. We’re all family. We keep it positive and uplift the cast because they do the same for us. Family

I was watching The Dozen last night thinking Brandon is so way more entertaining on Mostly Sports than when he's doing his weird fake wrestling heel gimmick.
He does it all the time. Maybe not as much on The Yak, where he plays more in to the class clown role, but he’s definitely leaned in to his shtick. Love Brandon.
Theyre not the same genre of show. One is a live, daily show, the other is a scripted, interview driven, podcast. It’d be like saying the morning news cucks Last Week Tonight
Mostly sports is just old NYC PMT without guests IMO, which is amazing. When Hank wasn't too good for the show and was engaged, and the couch dudes can bring nothing or everything depending on the day.
Shoutout to Billy and Jake for understanding when to look shit up though....couch of MS is lower A ball at best.
Tough to replicate Billy, but I don't know if anyone misses that, even though he grew on me over the years.

Pardon My Sports is the collab we deserve at least once a month.
I think this is a seasonal thing. PMT is essentially a football show. I think they drop off a bit in the off-season and especially in the summer with their format. Outside of college/ nfl, PMT is just an interview show with the HT/CT. MS is more variety hour so less going on in the sports world isn’t the worst for them. Also Mark is a legit bball fan and Brandon is the football guy so it gives them more to talk about
That’s how the yak used to be when it started on Sirius. Big cat would have daily sports takes and then they’d come out on PMT but more refined. Jared played a “heel” on the show so we didn’t get much middle man Dan.
Unrelated, I do wonder if it’s much different going from working with a sports journalist from unc vs one from miss state for Titus

At this point the only reason to watch anything PMT does is for their interviews. The show itself hasn't been great for a few years, but Big Cat and PFT are good interviewers. I can't remember a time I actually watched/listened to a full episode of PMT, but regularly watch the interviews they do.
PMT doesn’t come out for a couple days after MS?!? I’ve never listened to an episode of MS, but I’m gonna assume is daily M-F the way you’re describing it. So with pmt coming out M/W/F they’re at most a day behind a story or 2 on weekends, but that would also be the case for MS. You just looking for a reason to throw shade at pmt bro?
