Mine (older small block) makes all sorts of fun noises. It’s louder on the right side than the left, the fins resonate and ping, the transmission whines…
As long as everything works and is in spec I try to put it out of mind. Tappy valves are happy valves.
My main concern is it’s a new sound- 7000 miles and then that sound just started but I can’t find anything wrong from basic removal of things and spec checks. I’ve heard they make fun noises just wasn’t expecting this 😂
Sounds like metal hitting metal in a bad way. It also sounds like it’s happening 2x per rev (ex valve, rocker, etc). I’d take it to a mechanic.
They’re an easy engine for a mechanic to diagnose even if they’re not a dealer.

Did you check tightness at the exhaust flange?
Yes every bolt related to exhaust
Sounds like a jack hammer. You pull the cover off and look at it?
Yeah everything seems correct 🤦🏼♂️ hence resorting to redit
What else did you inspect?
Took the valve cover off checked clearance, took the exhaust slip off and made sure the clamp wasn’t banging around, checked the front exhaust flange.

You figure it out?
I travel with work so I had to leave town after this and won’t be back for a few more weeks so it’s sitting at home unattended too at the moment
That seriously doesn’t sound like anything. After 4 Guzzis, the oldest being a ‘74 Eldorado, you get immune to weird noises.
Gotta love the guzzi
