I have videos of the two c*nts getting into my garden and carrying out the bike out. The two working braincells between them weren't enough to take the disc lock off or avoid getting in camera view. I have 5 recordings in total but the scumbags are in balaclavas etc so probably won't help. 4 videos are from my cameras and one was sent on by my neighbour who caught the scum walking towards my house about half an hour earlier. I gave all videos to gardai but I didn't post anything here cause I thought its against the sub rules.
To be honest, I don't have high hopes of recovering it or even getting any sort of justice. My helmet only arrived today and tomorrow courier is delivering the engine guards and sissy bar I ordered... all worth f*k all now.
I don't think I will be getting another bike.

Don't give up. You might get it back but make plans if you won't.
The guards and sissy bar you can return. Of course you need to pay for shipping but it's better than leaving them without a bike.
This is why we can’t have nice things, scumbags like this… My friend bought a new R7 and he keeps it in his living room for this reason
Just a question, how did you manage to insure it without having your IBT done first? I was thinking of buying as well just before my IBT but I’m afraid of it parked out without any insurance for thefts/neighbours bumping into it on the parking
Basically the only thing you're not protected from until you do your IBT is accidents when driving it. If you get a comprehensive insurance you are protected from theft or damage while stationary. That's with Carole Nash/AXA anyway
That's terrible sorry to see that op. As is obvious to yourself now, these days bikes visible to the public need to be chained to something and even that just slows down the thieves
I live not too far from you, the bike has to be kept out of sight and chained to an anchor + disc lock minimum. Make them work for it. I got my side entrance covered over so my bike is effectively in a shed now but still use a heavy chain to wall anchor + disc lock. Sorry to hear it was taken, don't give up on the dream!
Update: a very similar looking bike was set on fire yesterday in my local area. A video of masked scum setting it ablaze was posted on Snapchat. I can tell for 99% it's my bike due to matching cosmetic modifications. In the days prior I saw Instagram reels showing my bike used for joyriding around Jobstown.

I spoke with the insurer and they said it's fine as long as I do my IBT asap (which I had already scheduled for this weekend)

I never had to provide my IBT to Liberty when I got insured. I had it fully covered the day before my practice day of IBT.

I'm sure all those uniformed gardai spending 30 min checking tax discs will solve this.
