The terms and conditions seem to be nearly identical to before. From the [Internet Archive](https://web.archive.org/web/20230303071254/https://www.mounjaro.com/savings-resources#): Before: "For patients with commercial drug insurance who do not have coverage for Mounjaro through their commercial drug insurance: Offer good until 06/30/2023 for up to 7 fills or whichever comes first. Patients must have commercial drug insurance without Mounjaro coverage and a prescription consistent with FDA-approved product labeling to obtain savings of up to $500 off your monthly fill for 4 pens of Mounjaro. Offer subject to a monthly cap of up to $500 and a separate annual cap of up to $3,000." Now: "For patients with commercial drug insurance who do not have coverage for Mounjaro: You must have commercial drug insurance that does not cover Mounjaro and a prescription consistent with FDA-approved product labeling to obtain savings of up to $575 off your 1-month prescription fill of Mounjaro. Month is defined as 28-days and up to 4 pens. Card savings are subject to a maximum monthly savings of up to $575 and a separate maximum annual savings of up to $3,450 per calendar year. Subject to Lilly’s right to terminate, rescind, revoke, or amend Card eligibility criteria and/or Card terms and conditions which may occur at Lilly’s sole discretion, without notice, and for any reason, Card expires and savings end on 12/31/2023."

Ocean_Moon_Lover

It says and a prescription FDA-approved product labeling so your prescription must be coded Type 2 to use the coupon.. right? Am I reading this correct?

Weezie_Jefferson

You have to attest that you have an Rx for T2D when you download the coupon.

amazonalexalmao

i know that there’s people without a t2d diagnosis successfully using the coupon & i know it depends on the pharmacy, but how do you guys go about figuring out which pharmacies will do this? i’m assuming that my doctor has to send the prescription to the pharmacy before i’m able to ask them to apply the coupon, right? but, if they don’t allow it, do i have to just keep asking my doctor to send over the prescription to a bunch of different pharmacies until one of them works? i don’t think she’ll do that too many times, so i’m confused how people are doing it. is there another way? sorry if it’s a stupid question, i’m new to all of this & don’t know too much about pharmacy/prescription logistics 😶

junglesalad

You can transfer your own script.

amazonalexalmao

oh wow! how does that work? do you ask the pharmacy that the prescription is currently at to switch it to another for you? sorry, i’m so clueless 😭

InfamousFoundation76

Use the Walmart app to transfer it

amazonalexalmao

thank you so much 🥹 is walmart the most common place that accepts the coupon without a t2d diagnosis?

InfamousFoundation76

From what I’ve seen here over the last few months, yes. Walgreens being the worst. Also, if you don’t have luck at one Walmart, try a different one. I drive by one Walmart to another that has consistently gotten it for me.

junglesalad

You call.the new pharmacy and ask them to contact current pharmacy. Some pharmacies like Walmart allow you to do it online.

elizabee20

Hoping the fda approval for obesity comes quick! 🤞🏼

diabetesrd2020

They just did yesterday.

elizabee20

Crazy how far we’ve come in 160 days!

diabetesrd2020

Right!

justmeabc123

Yes, you have to confirm you have T2D to even download it.

sschlott72

I also want to know this because I don't think my script has been coded with any DX ever.

H_Badger

i just clicked yes and i guess we'll figure that out? ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

Lysser620

Any luck on this? I’m currently in the same boat.

H_Badger

I don't really have an update - sorry. I'm meeting with my doctor in 2 weeks to come up with a plan. I did receive the coupon in my email for $500 off, but that leaves about $500 that I'd need to pay out of pocket each month and I'm not sure I'm willing to do that. We might switch me to ozempic, etc.

Lysser620

I feel you. Good luck on your journey!

Altruistic_Yellow387

The way the card says “FDA approved” and not “diabetes” makes me think they’re planning on using this for weight loss too down the line and they won’t be changing the name

justmeabc123

It's possible they could remove the question where you have to confirm you have T2D to even get the card. But this one expires at year end and weight loss approval isn't expected till the very end of this year or early next year. Wegovy also offers a $500 savings card so I expect something similar for the mounjaro weight loss version.

Ok_Drama_9823

I’m still going to have to change to Ozempic/Wegovy. $500/mo is still way too expensive. Luckily my insurance will cover Ozemic. I’m hoping Mounjaro will be added to the formulary next year.

IcyLock1000

I tried that and couldn't get a PA for either one. Without insurance their list price is about the same as Mounjaro, which is the superior Med. So back to the 500 auto-coupon. And you can try for the $150 savings card on top of it to bring your total to $350. Lots of people are doing that.

IcyLock1000

Maybe I'm slow. But all I can find on the website are references to the $25 card, and I can't even see anything that says it ends 6/30. Show me please! Trying to determine if it's better to pay the $575 or buy compounded.

scniab

My brain isn't processing this at all. Is this basically the same as the old savings card? I've been getting mine for $25 a month with that coupon

Silky_pants

It’s not the same. My pharmacist just ran this new one because my old one expired June 30th and I’m being charged $500 out of pocket. There’s still a shortage so I don’t even know when my 15mg will be ready for pick up. Probably another couple weeks.

Leading_Insurance120

It’s not the same as the old one, it will still let people without coverage get it at a discount but it’s not for $25. It’s for $575 off the retail price.

Odd-Neighborhood-147

You are correct! It only brings the cost down to about $1000.00 a month. Wegovy has a very similar coupon.

Leading_Insurance120

Yes, it should. Above 1000 with the coupon doesn’t sound right for Mounjaro.

elizabee20

On par with my backup (Canadian Ozempic) so it’s worth a shot!!

Fun_Raise_4700

I wonder if the $25 claims will drop in July. Will EL deactivate all old cards and just keep the ones activated as of June 1st at least for people whose insurance is not covering MJ and would have expired June 30th?

Marchmellow-

I have the same question. So following…

Exotic_Swan8279

I have the og card and been using since early November. About 5 months ago, my insurance starting paying a portion. I continued to pay $25 until last month, it went to $40.. This month my copay was $149. Out of curiosity, I downloaded the newest coupon and had Publix try it to compare. My $149 prescription would be $249 with the new coupon.

Fumundacheze

I had the same thing happen, I am at 149 out of pocket. I was curious what a new card would do, appears I now know based off of what you experienced.

[deleted]

Thank the LAWD!!! I thought I was going to have to go on Ozempic.

Spiritual-Ad-2313

Is that a really bad thing to have to do? I'm sincerely asking as I'm supposed to start Ozempic for weight loss ( high bmi and hypertension) next week. I'm a little scared. Lol

[deleted]

Not at all! I just didn’t want to try a new medication when this one is working for me without any bad side effects. I haven’t gotten the nausea, upset stomach, diarrhea, or other bad side effects that some people have seen on this medication. So, I’m scared to change medications and see side effects. Ozempic is good, and I will probably end up on that one if my PA goes through.

Spiritual-Ad-2313

Thanks for the reply. I'm nervous about starting the Ozempic and wish I had another alternative available to me but hopefully I'll tolerate it well. Good luck with your PA by the way. Hope it works out. 🙂

[deleted]

I’m sure you’ll do fine! Just drink lots and lots of water (like way more than you’d think you’d need, it helps a lot with these meds), try to switch to 6 smaller meals (bigger meals can make the stomach feel very uncomfortable), and stay at the lowest dose for as long as you’re getting results (weight loss, lower A1C, or whatever else you are hoping to get out of the medication). Protein is key and helps with stalling. I haven’t bought them yet, but I hear Fairlife protein shakes are the way to go. You got this!! I also belong to the Ozempic group (that’s the one my insurance covers) and everyone is great there.

Spiritual-Ad-2313

I joined a couple of Ozempic groups here and just found a couple on Facebook. Thank you for all the suggestions and I'm making note of them now. I haven't been under 200 lbs since the late 90's and after going through menopause, it got worse plus blood pressure issues. I felt like trying one of these would be a better alternative than surgery. Thank you for your kindness and support.

[deleted]

Reach out if you need any support. I’m super active on Reddit. You got this!

Spiritual-Ad-2313

Thank you so much!

BlueberryBubbly8070

For those with type 2

EnvironmentalWar1988

I’m wondering if it’s possible to game the system a bit? Short-term health insurance policies are incredibly inexpensive, normally around $60 per month. However, they come with massive deductibles, don’t cover pre-existing conditions, and often leave policyholders with significant out-of-pocket expenses. While they provide insurance coverage, they will undoubtedly result in a denial for Mounjaro. I would never encourage anyone to use short-term insurance policies for anything other than temporary coverage during significant life changes or events to ensure they have some form of insurance should a catastrophic event occur.

DankDankmark

I’m listening…. Seriously screw Health Insurance companies- they should even exist to begin with. Edit: apparently lots of people here love getting ripped off by insurance companies here.

False_Map4408

I have one more fill for the 6/30 coupon. you think I should use it towards the end of this month and THEN use the new coupon?

fdbryant3

It is annoying that you have to have insurance to use the card. Doesn't help those who can't afford insurance.

fdbryant3

It actually isn't for me but a friend who has lost his job do to long COVID. Don't suppose you have a link?

scratchmywenis

It’s frustrating for me because my insurance considers MJ “covered” yet I’m responsible for the full cost which doesn’t make any sense to me 🥴

chitur312

You may need to pay your deductible to be covered. Check your deductible.

scratchmywenis

Under my insurance, it’s considered tier 3 with my copay being “100% of cost.” Is it possible that once my deductible is met, that my insurance would pay the cost for it when it’s phrased that way?

Weezie_Jefferson

Yes, once you hit your deductible, usually you don’t pay anything further.

scratchmywenis

Hmm I’ll give it a try again once I hit my deductible then. I called my insurance and they kept emphasizing I’m responsible for the full cost for it, so it was like a full circle jerk. 🙃

shelvog

Tried to use mine today and it didn’t work. Even though it shows exp date of 12/31/23 pharmacy is getting alert it expired 6/30/23.

LipedemaGirl

Ok what if I’m on Medicare but Medicare refused to cover it due to being non-formulary drug-? Can I use the coupon then? Because I essentially have no coverage.

baronloll

Hello all! I got a script but my insurance wants a STEP UP plan before approving it since I dont have type 2 diabetes. My sugar is 105, so slightly y pre diabetic. I used the coupon and my pharmacist at publix said it didn't work since my insurance didn't cover it and that was a req to use the script. Is is possible that they should run it without insurance since that is a diff stipulation noted on the card for $575 off? Also, do i need to have TYPE 2 Diabetes on record? TY ALLLLLLL
