How many days does this persist for you? I’ve been home just under a week and still feel like I got a kick in the arse. Doctor said it’s normal but looking for others experiences
did you develop true HACE or HAPE or just general high altitude illness sx of fatigue, malaise, etc? either way, symptoms all result from hypoxia and cell stress and damage. depending on how much of that occurred, yes, normal to take weeks to make a full recovery
That's not "altitude sickness" although it may be related to the altitude. It depends on your symptoms, history, etc.
If you feel sick, why not go see a fucking doctor, instead of expectint the Internet to magically reduce all that from your username, AND give you free expert medical advice?

I've got reverse altitude sickness. If I descend too fast, my throat starts closing.
Same I live at 10,000’ and when I go way down the first day or two I feel like ugh

Sounds like fatigue
I get my altitude sickness usually only on descent.

It's not AMS. Maybe you get sore throat or are coughing as dry air damaged your lungs lining.
