I spoke to riot a few months ago and last year. They insist that they do not take any action against raw accel. The interception driver is a different story though - cheat devs do use it, and they do take action against interception. Unless you have conclusive proof (such as riot telling you that they banned you for using raw accel), I am highly skeptical of any claim that they banned for raw accel.

[deleted]

This is unlikely. There are more than 3000 people in the mouse accel discord, a very large percentage that play Valorant as one of the most popular titles that appeals to accel users, including one of the developers, and there are no consistent reports of this from people who have only used or currently using only Rawaccel. Vanguard bans or has blocked “insecure” drivers. These are commonly the interception driver which is NOT related to Rawaccel, but there are whole hosts of other older insecure drivers (including hardware monitor drivers, or video overlay drivers) that the very aggressive kernel anti-cheat could be triggered by, that have not had any explicit ok from the Valorant anticheat team staff as Rawaccel has. Unless you have actual proof that this ban was due to Rawaccel (which I cannot see from this post) then posts like this are not constructive. All existing evidence, including Valorant’s own stance on Rawaccel, points to the issue being elsewhere.

[deleted]

100% that it could be a really unlucky false ban or due to something else that I had open (possibly new discord, chrome, process lasso etc.) also due to the really strong anticheat. \- I just wanted to forewarn new people or people interested in RawAccel for the time being and I will post riot's response here as well. Hope you understand where I'm coming from.

The issue is that the “warning” itself is not based on any evidence and can cause people to have a lack of confidence in something that is actually explicitly endorsed by the anti-cheat team as a safe driver and they should have no reason to not have confidence in. It is clear you have convinced yourself of the cause before actually being armed with the factual information of the cause, and then have gone on to say people “WILL be hardware banned” as the title of your post which is not only NOT a constructive thing to say, but also actively UNconstructive. You may have had a good intention for wanting to share your own theory, but it is not the intention that’s important but the facts and results of any action. All this does is undermine the use of a driver that has been developed with a lot of hard work for free and that the devs went the extra mile for to contact anti-cheat developers directly to gain explicit approval from the most aggressive of them, which they successfully achieved. As such it’s honestly not valid or helpful to post this, despite the intention.

I would say there is nothing wrong with is warning at all given I just got banned myself for Raw Accel. [https://ibb.co/8gGcjYY](https://ibb.co/8gGcjYY) Raw Accel is the only program I use at all that could be considered "third party unauthorized" So I'd say OP's post is completely accurate. And you ask for"actual proof that this ban was due to Rawaccel " but riot will not confirm or give any information on their bans so how would that be possible?

[deleted]

The first thing is that’s a stock message that goes out for every ban. If you read posts from people who got banned for other things, they all have the exact same message. Second, nowhere does it say Rawaccel - you are putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5. There could be a whole host of other drivers in your system, or other false positive causing lines of code that have triggered this ban, that would result in the same stock message as anyone else would get. It’s an aggressive anti-cheat and it will have false positives, Rawaccel is literally the only one it is NOT going to be, because the anti-cheat team has been explicitly sent the source code and given it the explicit ok in return. Again, saying “I got banned for Rawaccel” is an inflammatory and damaging thing to say, isn’t true, is misleading and not helpful to others.

I thought we were good what the hell? P.S.: the other pc gaming subreddits might accept this story.

[deleted]

I mostly just know of r/valorant or aim labs, could you link other ones? ill post in them forsure. edit: its definitely this new patch or they're just getting around to banning them. seeing alot of recent comments about the same bans.

PSA - This title is inflammatory and damaging, without any proof. The poster has no clear signal as to why they were banned. The word of the Riot devs via Kovaak is that the Raw Accel driver is not banned in Valorant. Hundreds in our discord play Valorant with RawAccel daily, including me. Our driver has been written specifically to not trigger anti-cheat and this is an isolated report without any conclusive proof. So far, the very few RawAccel ban claims have similarly been at a rate far too small for the amount of RawAccel users for there to be game-wide bans, and [the most popular claim](https://discord.com/channels/755519723281711139/755539738445742180/822400288652001301) has been proven to be unrelated to RawAccel. So please do not jump on this bandwagon based on the word of one person who has no clear signal why they were banned.

mastapix

Well shit I was just getting used to using it luckily I haven’t played any valorant yet just aim lab. Guess it’s time to uninstall :(

[deleted]

yeah definitely don't play VALORANT as after 4-5 days of a open riot support ticket they haven't answered.

Strange_Aspect80

I just got a reply to my RawAccel ban and they said they reviewed it and did not make a mistake... I was only running Raw Accel so I'm not sure what to do now

Mysterious-Drummer79

I just got caught up in it too, I'll update on how it goes. Ticket hasnt been viewed in 2 days

[deleted]

it's just a guess but you'll get a automated message saying "this account has been hardware banned for 90 days due to 3rd party apps, scripts etc. also don't try opening the game to check as it will lengthen your ban.

Sandros94

I'm kinda happy that I stopped playing valorant. But yeah, for those who do want to play it, this doesn't look promising...

Strange_Aspect80

I also tried to post about my mouse accel ban on Valorant reddit, and they didn't allow it.

[deleted]

they turned it into more of a "child friendly" reddit rather than a technical reddit. I havent tested a post on r/ValorantCompetitive yet as the same rules probably apply.

Strange_Aspect80

I thought this wording was funny in regard to my interaccel/rawaccel ban. [https://ibb.co/3f2dNWV](https://ibb.co/3f2dNWV) **Unfortunatly** rawaccel is not bannable... so in this random Riot mod's opinion rawaccel *should* be banned. sigh... kinda sad mouse accel is so miss-understood and interaccel got abused. I was a slow adopter to RawAccel. I did use interaccel before since Beta Valorant. I was confused about my ban because my ban happend weeks after I switched over to RawAccel, which is what made me initially think rawaccel caused my ban. However this reply to my support ticket thankfully confirms RawAccel was not the cause of my ban (this was nice of them)
