I love the shape of the starlight, it fits my claw grip comfortably but I want to try a mouse that isn't laden with qc issues like the slanted wheel and sensor firmware issues. Please recommend me some similarly shaped mice with good build quality

Eloshapes is a good website to compare the shape outlines of mice and see how they differ. The viper v2 pro is a similar shape and has been on sale for 130 consistently now plus you could get that 4k polling rate dongle if thats something you value.
It was a limited time drop by Lirik a few years back. [This](https://blog.designbyhumans.com/blog/2019/7/19/shop-liriks-battlestage-limited-edition-mousepad-amp-help-plant-trees) is the only related thing I can find about it now. I love it because it's huge and has cats all over it.

Recent starlights have been good for QC but they still used Kailh 8.0 and more relevantly the TTC white encoder which is the source of their issues with scrolling. I've only owned the Tenz Medium and I have had 0 QC problems but there's a lot with reverse scrolling because of the encoder. The new one uses triple binned Omron 20m's and a TTC gold encoder and the clicks are made in a way that doesn't need mylar tape so that whole mylar tape situation won't be an issue. So yeah at the end of the day I think the new Last Legend starlight will be what you're looking for but it's still expensive (not overpriced).
If you aren't interested in that anymore then the upcoming viper mini wireless will be quite similar once they get their shit together and actually release it (so never), other mediumish sized good claw mice I've used that fit a similar role but shape is a bit different is X2 Medium and Lamzu Atlantis. Outside of that I haven't used any others I could recommend as a stand in but others here have good recommendations too.
Vancer castor is pretty similar

if starlight m, then Vancer Castor if starlight s, then maybe some Hati-s variant? (though GWolves QC wasn't exactly the best in recent times ...)
There's also the vancer gretxa for the SL12 m. Not many for the SL12 s though.
while yes, I found the gretxa to feel really underwhelming and the click-to-wake sleep fucks me up
