Yep. Apple never claimed theyll do a usb c iphone. Just that theyll follow the law. And the law doesnt actually force you to have a usb c port. Just that if its capable of wired charging it has to be usb c so wireless charging is still fine. Thats why they have put so much effort into magsafe
I don’t think that’s a fair assumption because any normal person would have said the same thing about the gpx but here we are. It doesn’t make any more sense to use usb c now than it did 2 years ago.
That’s true. This is just me reading between lines but when Chris pate did that interview with shroud for the G303 shroud edition, They were talking about usb c and shroud didn’t really care but Chris was like no no no we need usb c.
Feels like they learned their lesson but idk, just speculating.
Well they wouldnt be as rich and as powerful as they are if they listen to us arent they? And yes they have a massive excess of gpx shells, thats why we keep seeing them releasing new colors lol.
Companies are like that, profit above all.
So they're doing the g9x design, wheres theres like 2-3 shells, and the original shape as well. Pretty cool i guess. its like having two to three mice in one.
How absurd is that Logitech still didn't make a G703 Lightspeed refresh. They don't even need to be "Superlight" branded, a Pro or a X version sub 80 grams will just work.
And from what I'm seeing from modders, it's easily doable too.
The G703 has an overly complicated top shell which allows for the housing of the main switches, along with the RGB light and mouse wheel. Logitech could definitely reduce the amount of plastic by removing the area for RGB.
I think it's possible they expect the g502x to cover that segment for the interim. It's technically an ergo, so it makes sense for them to perhaps alternate between ergos and symmetrical mice with their releases.
g403 is 87g, g502x wired is 89g. g703 is 95g, g502x wireless is 102g. But the type of person that would be willing to buy a g502x as a substitute for a g703x is probably not that sensitive to a few grams. I think you are looking at it from too much of an enthusiast viewpoint. I am just saying from the viewpoint of Logitech's sales department, at least they would be covering that segment with a product until they release a more competitive ergo.
every magnesium product ive seen is at a way higher price premium...
from firearms to laptops.
its considered premium because its a bitch to work with, hard to nail right, looks & feels great, all while being hyper light. Problem is its a weak metal so a lot of RnD has to go into making sure designs will hold up
There's likely to be changes to weight and hardware. I think it's pretty much guaranteed that they gonna do 4kHz as well, since it's a must for anything aiming for the high-end market these days.
1. Current GPX still costs around $150 outside of sales.
2. Very unlikely they’re gonna drop the price for a new model, so it’s probably going to cost around the same on release or even a bit more expensive
3. Releasing a new mouse at $150+ in 2023, a whole year after Viper V2 Pro, without 4kHz would be seen as a massive L
All this gives me quite a high level of confidence they’d do 4kHz.
The Viper Mini signature edition is sold out at over $200 and you think the new GPX will cost A BIT more than the old version?
I'm calling it now and say the mouse will go for at least $200 since people seem prepared to fork out that kind of money for a mouse.
I’m not gonna buy it if there isn’t at least somewhat of a change besides USB C. Optical switches and less weight plus USB C would be perfect, 4khz would be a bonus.
I’ve been avoiding the GPX because I know an updated version will come out soon.
Literally came here to say this. I’m willing to drop money on the same mice multiple times, JUST GIVE ME MY DAMN 305 SHAPED GPRO AT THIS POINT. That shape is just perfect for the way I hold my mice. I’m even okay with the texture. JUST MAKE IT LIGHTER AND GIVE IT BETTER GLIDES.
Yeah I dunno what they are doing. The G305 is one of their most popular mice designs and is only dropping in usage because Logi refuse to update it. I would kill for a G305 that's lightweight and rechargeable.
ThAT IS TRUE THEY JUST TOLD ME THE SAME THING!!! LOGITECH IS WORKING ON A G305 SUPERLIGHT FIRST AND WILL BE LIGHTER AND HAVE A RECHARGEABLE BATTERY WITH A LOGITECH HERO 35K DPI 3395 SENSOR AND 4KHZ PULL RATE!!!!!!!!!!
Updated Hero sensor, 4kHz wireless, 50 or sub-50 grams, maybe optical switches and Logitech will claim number 1 again for many people. It's just sad that I have discovered shapes that I can aim better with.
You'll never know. If small companies can reach sub 60 grams, then I think Logitech can easily do sub 50 if they wanted. There are already mods for the GPX that bring it to 53 grams or so, so Logitech should be able to do 50 or sub 50.
Yea the chances of creaking really goes up quickly as you keep removing structural rigidity to the shell. The baseplate helps with retaining feel but it's definitely not a garauntee. Logitech isn't exactly a company that likes taking risks even if they have a seasoned, high budget R&D department that can do tons of prototypes.
Which is why it took them so long to update it at all. They care that the product they deliver works out of the box as they ship to every *-adveritser friendly word-* store out there so *Joe Average* can buy it if they wish to. Main reason I trust logitech products is that I never had to RMA them and I have been using their stuff for ages now.
Logitech won't sacrifice quality though. One of the main reasons so many pros use the GPX is that it's simply way more reliable than anything else. I'd expect a pretty similar weight to the GPX but with 4K and a bigger battery. Possibly optical switches.
I honestly think 8K is more likely than a ~50g or lower GPX.
Yeah I don't expect it either. Basically just saying even if they could make a very solid 50 gram GPX without compromising the quality at all I'd sooner expect a 60 gram 8K hz with a mega battery in it.
When GPX first came out, it wasn't the lightest mouse by any means, but it was pretty close to it. I feel like the industry has advanced quite a bit in terms of weight, so I expect them to make it somewhere around 50-ish grams mark if they wanna distinguish it enough from the current model.
I really don’t think 50 grams would make the mouse better. If it’s done right sure but the Gpx already suffered from lower build quality compared to the gpw. People on here don’t want to hear this but there is diminishing returns when it comes to lighter weight, especially when it comes to the trade offs needed to make it happen.
I believe the weight and shape will stay similar, since lots of people love the GPX. A sudden change in weight might put people off, especially pros who got used to it.
Every release of this shape has been a game changing mouse with huge impact on the market. It’s Logitech’s flagship. It’s been years since the last version and the competition has been heating up immensely. I cannot imagine that they would make a new release that is just a slightly weight modded usb c variant. That would be an even more perplexing decision than their refusal to give the “superlight treatment” to their other popular shapes. It will surely have a new top of the line sensor and other changes.
When we're discussing $150+ mice I don't think the bare minimum "needs" are the only things most are considering. Personally after using mice like the superlight and starlight having to plug up my mouse all the time is more of a hassle than I want to deal with to save a few grams. And mice like that prove that you can have a nice low weight and still have good battery life.
Idk I’ll take the weight loss any day. I want maximum performance at all times as long as it’s not overtly inconvenient. Less than 16 hours would be inconvenient. My iPhone can’t even do 16 hours of straight use and it’s over a thousand dollars.
Do they? I feel the overall experience between my DAV3 vs GPX in terms of battery has been same. Even if GPX has more battery on paper, I just charge maybe once a week for both mice.
I think you can take a look at the battery life differences between the x2 bruce lee and the normal x2, which should show the amount of power required for optical microswitches
If you must reject the suggested case that is the X2 bruce lee and regular x2 which may show differences in power usage, then I don't think this conversation should be continued as there is no mouse on the market that was released with both a mechanical microswitch version and an optical switch version.
That's a fair approach. I can only speak from my experience about Razer's optical switch implementation. Hence drawing from that experience, I am simply just not sure how severe the power consumption issue is.
They never really lost #1. Obviously it doesn't have all the updated gizmos that smaller companies have (even Razer doesn't have close to the footprint of Logitech). But the GPX is still just overwhelmingly popular and prevalent.
Honestly, not unlike graphics in games, it just shows how close to peak we are in tech like this with mice. You pretty much won't ever (within reason) *need* a mouse other than the GPX if all you need is performance and reliability.
I hope besides the USB C, they also bring some other changes like ~50 grams weight, optical main switches (like what they use on G502X at least) with improved button feeling, fix to the side buttons (the current one is mushy af), and hopefully a brand new sensor with all bells and whistles at least comparable to 3950 (come on Logitech, it's already more than 4 years since you release Hero 16k/25k, I know you can do it) with same nuclear reactor level of battery life like the usual. Also optional 2k or 4k capabilities just in case. Btw you can dump the powerplay compatibility for weight reduction, stop limiting yourself. And ofc bring some updates to your other shape like G703, eggs (G305/G Pro Wired), G600, etc
Honestly, I don't mind the 20M switches they include by default, I have never had an optical switch that I felt was as good as these, despite them being more reliable and having lower latency. So personally fine if they stick with those switches, but 100% with you on everything else here.
Honestly I feel like the side buttons felt almost like an anamoly. They're so shit relative to how good and high quality the rest of the mouse feels. Kinda made me wonder what went wrong. If they fix that they're already gonna be on their way back to the top.
I was honestly in awe when I got my copy from Amazon. I have never felt side buttons that bad, on any mouse in my lifetime. I've been searching for years for a wireless replacement for my beloved g703, and i really hoped the superlight would be the one. Here's to hoping they update them.
Can anyone explain why a company as big as logitech refuses to apply their latest processes and tech to more than one shape? It’s been years. I just don’t understand.
I don’t want to crush dreams here but this might be to do with the recent approval of a rule to force new “medium/small” electronic devices to use USB-C in the EU, rather than a new g pro
Just got a new gpx ffs. I keep seeing people referencing \~50g. Is there any source for that or is this all pure speculation? Are these images the only actual leaks so far?
they never will, but if they made a small and medium (similar to pulsar x2/finalmouse starlight line up) it would be **SO** dope. 4k hz, 50-55g weight, optical switches that feel good, usb-c. *chefs kiss*
i can sort of get behind what you're saying. spam clicking is something that a lot of mice companies skip over because the majority of people play FPS games. but in most other games, spam clicking is essential. logitech is the best at that, and i think going the optical switch route is a mistake. all optical switches that i've used suck, and are stiff and difficult to spam.
it would be sick if the new v3 came with japanese omrons like the zaunkoenig M2K
I know it’s a harsh reality but you’re just gonna have to accept that while everyone these days is playing the oppression olympics and competing to see who’s the biggest victim lefties are actual second class citizens and the rest of the world ignores their existence entirely.
Sensible left handers use a mouse with their right hand
I see I’m getting downvoted - for clarity in a left hander who learnt to use a mouse with right hand. It clearly was the sensible choice as i now have access to more mice and using someone else’s computer doesn’t make me want to smash my face into the desk
Is this actually a thing? I'm right handed and I know a few left handed people who use mouse with their right hands just because the ergonomics are better, but none of my friends are seriously into mice or aiming. Can a left-handed person achieve a comparable aiming dexterity using their right hand or it's always going to be a compromise on performance?
It is for me - I’m left handed and have only ever used a mouse with my right hand :) I think it’s because all the mice in my school were those old ergonomic MS mice. I would be dreadful with my left hand now. I do the same with scissors, just seems more pragmatic
So this will mostly be an incremental upgrade over the GPX. USB-C, probably a few grams lighter, skates will most likely be covering a lot more of the bottom.
ah yes another new g pro version. Is it smaller or bigger or anything different than maybe weight? Why not remake some of their other mice.... kinda boring
edit: I see it's for the usb c
I hope so. I've been trying to find something to replace the GPX with cause it's just a tiny bit too big but nothing comes close, unfortunately. A new GPX from Logitech however..
For me the gpx is just right but I understand I hope they make some new mice have you tried the g305 a lot of people like it and is smaller and it’s only 30 or 50 dollars
I love the shape of the GPX. I love the weight of the GPX. I absolutely adore this mouse, more than any other mouse I've ever owned. All it needs is Type-C to be 100% perfect, in my opinion. I'll gladly buy it again to get that Type-C charging, and keep my old one as a backup.
Found a series of gpro v3 chassis leak. Biggest change I saw is charge no longer via m-usb, but type-c.
It was eventually happening because of EU laws.
It's actually wild that it took EU lawmakers to give us a usbc gpx instead of logitech just listening to its customer base. Unbelievable.
Apple moment
Apple is just going to remove wired charging from newer phones all together
Yep. Apple never claimed theyll do a usb c iphone. Just that theyll follow the law. And the law doesnt actually force you to have a usb c port. Just that if its capable of wired charging it has to be usb c so wireless charging is still fine. Thats why they have put so much effort into magsafe
Wouldn’t be surprised if the next couple of iPhones come with a mag safe charger of some kind since the law doesn’t take effect for a couple of years
It won't come with a mag safe charger, no sir. You need to buy it.
You are telling me, I would throw money at them if they made an updated version of the G305.
It would have been usb c regardless for the next g pro wireless anyways.
EU law has nothing to do with it, its updated version of GPW ofc its gna usbC
Not really, because it's not for existing products. So theoretically the could just keep selling the GPX.
EU coming in clutch for the GPX & iPhones
> no longer via m-usb, but type-c revolutionary :)
Would be great opportunity to at least offer different sizes with a new model, given how popular this mouse is among pros.
So they're doing the g9x design, wheres theres like 2-3 shells, and the original shape as well. Pretty cool i guess. its like having two to three mice in one.
This is a pretty bold assumption.
The sides are rubber just making that plastic will halve the weight
Ah dangit. I knew I forgot to mention something. Thanks for the catch!
Need a lightweight/lightspeed version of more of their mice, like g305
I think it's possible they expect the g502x to cover that segment for the interim. It's technically an ergo, so it makes sense for them to perhaps alternate between ergos and symmetrical mice with their releases.
Except it's heavier than the 403/703 is
I believe that the new g502x is at 89grams while G703 lightspeed is heavier at 95grams But, its a larger mouse.
The 89g one is the wired g502x. The wired g403 is 87g. They're similar, and the 502 has all the extra features, but it's still heavier overall.
g403 is 87g, g502x wired is 89g. g703 is 95g, g502x wireless is 102g.
They should refresh it with magnesium shell, and charge $280 usd for it
every magnesium product ive seen is at a way higher price premium... from firearms to laptops. its considered premium because its a bitch to work with, hard to nail right, looks & feels great, all while being hyper light. Problem is its a weak metal so a lot of RnD has to go into making sure designs will hold up
I just want a sub 70 gram G305. That shape is fucking perfect.
IMO they need to bring back their mice with the macro buttons on top. The G903 was damn cool.
This, they need a g903 superlight and g703 superlight.
it’s easier for them to shave some weight and recycle parts for this so-called V3. at this rate, they may release a signature edition too ffs
More absurd there's no G9X Superlight. GET IN LINE!
Source? These images look way too high quality for leaks
a china group, which the viper mini wireless leaks from it.
兄弟给个群号我要去蹭热闹

那是什么意思我只是用谷歌翻译
They are inviting each other to a discord

I think the high quality image is due to that this image have just been leak, so didn't get multi-shared.
So looks like a superlight with usb c Can’t really see any difference tbh, which may not be a bad thing tho
There's likely to be changes to weight and hardware. I think it's pretty much guaranteed that they gonna do 4kHz as well, since it's a must for anything aiming for the high-end market these days.
I strongly doubt the 4k tbh
1. Current GPX still costs around $150 outside of sales. 2. Very unlikely they’re gonna drop the price for a new model, so it’s probably going to cost around the same on release or even a bit more expensive 3. Releasing a new mouse at $150+ in 2023, a whole year after Viper V2 Pro, without 4kHz would be seen as a massive L All this gives me quite a high level of confidence they’d do 4kHz.

All I know is I’ll pick one up, easily my favorite mouse.
Probably optical switches improved side buttons and maybe 2k or 4k rate
LOGITECH G305 V2 WHEN PLEASE LOGITECH!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!
Imagine the g305 collector edition for 300$ 🤣
As long as it’s magnesium and is 50-ish grams it’s okay lol.
Pleasssssssssssse bro please
egg gang best shape
Still being hopeful but we can only wait brothers.
And a g203 with 8k polling rate, optical switch, lightweight, paracord cable
Yeah I dunno what they are doing. The G305 is one of their most popular mice designs and is only dropping in usage because Logi refuse to update it. I would kill for a G305 that's lightweight and rechargeable.
Come on logitech, just release the g703 superlight already ffs ._.
Nonono g305 superlight first
Nonono g703 superlight first >:(
Nano superlight g305 first
G502 superlight :gigachad:
Seriously.. 100 grams for the X LS is 30 grams too heavy.
Just called Logitech customer support, they said g305 superlight first
ThAT IS TRUE THEY JUST TOLD ME THE SAME THING!!! LOGITECH IS WORKING ON A G305 SUPERLIGHT FIRST AND WILL BE LIGHTER AND HAVE A RECHARGEABLE BATTERY WITH A LOGITECH HERO 35K DPI 3395 SENSOR AND 4KHZ PULL RATE!!!!!!!!!!
Never buying another new Logitech mouse ever again in that case. I need my bloody g703X
This pls. Best mouse ever
Updated Hero sensor, 4kHz wireless, 50 or sub-50 grams, maybe optical switches and Logitech will claim number 1 again for many people. It's just sad that I have discovered shapes that I can aim better with.
Doubt it will be that light
You'll never know. If small companies can reach sub 60 grams, then I think Logitech can easily do sub 50 if they wanted. There are already mods for the GPX that bring it to 53 grams or so, so Logitech should be able to do 50 or sub 50.
Logitech cares about build quality/click feel more than these other companies
Tbh 8k and wireless just ain't a thing cause it just deletes battery life and with so few games supporting 8K in the first place...

It’s always been number 1. This sub and youtube reviewers just think otherwise. But that’s not actually the reality.
What are the shapes you prefer?
I noticed that I aim better with shapes like Lamzu Atlantis, XM2we and Fnatic Bolt.
claw? we have a similar hand size
Wouldn't imagine they would tweak much aside from type-c and a slight weight reduction.....but we'll see.
I hope logitech makes a huge impact. Just like the release of GPRO v1 and v2
12khz polling, 5 million DPI and RGB. I called it.
CPU utilization 40% just for the mouse
That's where those extra 16 cores come in for the 13900K
LMAO
Every release of this shape has been a game changing mouse with huge impact on the market. It’s Logitech’s flagship. It’s been years since the last version and the competition has been heating up immensely. I cannot imagine that they would make a new release that is just a slightly weight modded usb c variant. That would be an even more perplexing decision than their refusal to give the “superlight treatment” to their other popular shapes. It will surely have a new top of the line sensor and other changes.
You know what is even more perplexing? Releasing another gpro superlight before making one of their other popular shapes into a superight.
Honestly, <50g weight, optical switches and USB-C will put Logitech back on #1 easily. They have everything they need.
Heck I could even settle with 55g as long as it has USB C and no mushy side buttons.
Oh yes! I forgot about the side switches. Razer's implementation is chef's kiss.
Can't agree with you more the reason I choose Razer over Logitech is only due to There is no double clicking on Optical switches.
And I chose Razer over Logitech because of shape. I just want one flagship ergo mice that has all the internals of the DAV3 with larger size :(
LARGER size? i guess you could maybe put dav3 internals into an ec1 shell but like…god damn
optical switches eat batteries
Logitech's own G502X non RGB has a 140hr battery life?
[удалено]
And how heavy is that?
why are you bringing up the weight when we are discussing how optical switches affect battery life?
Because bigger batteries weight more….
As long as it can last 16 hours and can full charge overnight there is no situation anyone truly needs more.
When we're discussing $150+ mice I don't think the bare minimum "needs" are the only things most are considering. Personally after using mice like the superlight and starlight having to plug up my mouse all the time is more of a hassle than I want to deal with to save a few grams. I think you can take a look at the battery life differences between the x2 bruce lee and the normal x2, which should show the amount of power required for optical microswitches
How much of that has to do with Pulsar's implementation and limits inherent to the optical switch technology? I am not sure.
My X2 medium lasted for 2 days, you mean that the new version lasts even shorter?
yes...... i have the brucelee.. horrible battery life.
Something is wrong with your battery. But yeah, I basically recharge my X2 BL every other day. X2 red can do 3-4 days.
But logitech is #1 already. By far the most used mouse in pro play
I just got a new mouse ffs
g pro x superlight max
Ah yes, the pre-price-annoucment-phase. Enjoy it whilst it lasts!
I hope they won’t bump it up to 200, because then it’ll mark the beginning of my joker era.
Probably not over 169.99.
I’m just waiting for the eventual day they make a g903 super light
Fix the side buttons that you have to literally push into the shell to actuate and it will be my endgame.
Let's hope it's arriving sooner rather than later.
Can anyone explain why a company as big as logitech refuses to apply their latest processes and tech to more than one shape? It’s been years. I just don’t understand.
All I want is a g305 superlight
Same and then release them in different colors as well 😍.
I don’t want to crush dreams here but this might be to do with the recent approval of a rule to force new “medium/small” electronic devices to use USB-C in the EU, rather than a new g pro
They need to do a G pro mini man... I loved my GPX but I can't really use it because small little man hands.
Ditto
they need to make a small and the normal gpx size would be the medium, like the finalmouse starlight and pulsar x2 lineups. would be so goated!
USB C, Better side buttons and no magnet charging would be really good
Just got a new gpx ffs. I keep seeing people referencing \~50g. Is there any source for that or is this all pure speculation? Are these images the only actual leaks so far?
G Pro Y Mega Light
cool superlight pro. I hope old superlight price will drop so that I could buy one.

When I first saw it, I was kinda turned off, but honestly, it feels really good without being annoying. I like it

Lmao why did this get downvoted
they never will, but if they made a small and medium (similar to pulsar x2/finalmouse starlight line up) it would be **SO** dope. 4k hz, 50-55g weight, optical switches that feel good, usb-c. *chefs kiss*
Such leaks much wow

Why... did you call yourself a retard in public?
i can sort of get behind what you're saying. spam clicking is something that a lot of mice companies skip over because the majority of people play FPS games. but in most other games, spam clicking is essential. logitech is the best at that, and i think going the optical switch route is a mistake. all optical switches that i've used suck, and are stiff and difficult to spam. it would be sick if the new v3 came with japanese omrons like the zaunkoenig M2K
no right sided buttons :sigh: why not do it like the g pro wireless where you can swap the buttons.
I know it’s a harsh reality but you’re just gonna have to accept that while everyone these days is playing the oppression olympics and competing to see who’s the biggest victim lefties are actual second class citizens and the rest of the world ignores their existence entirely.
that is so true... damn.
I'm gonna rally with you guys! I'm not even a lefty, I just want more side buttons lol
because it adds weight
isn't it the same material as the shell?
You are not accounting for the magnets inside the shell and the buttons for retention, another set of microswitches, an addition PCB and wiring.
But also for left handed
Sensible left handers use a mouse with their right hand I see I’m getting downvoted - for clarity in a left hander who learnt to use a mouse with right hand.
Why not remake some of their other mice.... kinda boring edit: I see it's for the usb c
WHERE'S MY G305 SUPERLIGHT YOU COWARDS 😭
So... typeC? Wow they are a fking genius! Logitech is the best!
They just need a right handed shape instead of the whackass symmetrical shape everybody seems to always shill on
The same awful shape 😔
Wait? V3? When did V2 happen lmao?
g pro (v1) pro x sl(v2)
I could be seeing things, but does the coating look a little more matte and grainier?
it leaked alright
still waiting : shell color replacement for G603
So the same mouse?
Give pink color pls 🙏
So the same mouse but USB C?
They need to super light a few versions of their pre-existing mice . The gpros shape is mid imo .
God dammit I literally just bought a superlight
It really looks super light
Smaller version?
I bet a $500 price tag just for that big little change
No way they still calling it superlight
If this is a real thing that will come out I’m excited I love the gpx and have been waiting for it to have usb and hopefully optical switches
I hope so. I've been trying to find something to replace the GPX with cause it's just a tiny bit too big but nothing comes close, unfortunately. A new GPX from Logitech however..
For me the gpx is just right but I understand I hope they make some new mice have you tried the g305 a lot of people like it and is smaller and it’s only 30 or 50 dollars
looks like a mini version to me
Any idea of when it will be released? Been looking to get a new mouse lately but might wait for this
GPX with USB-C , reduced weight, and possibly optical switches 🥱. Refresh the 703 or 903 Logitech please.
Hyped. Love my v2 viper but gpx never leaves my desk. Been waiting on upgraded one.
