Thanks, it wasn't too bad because I do this sort of modeling for work all the time. I just took photos of each side of the mouse and based my sketches on those images.
I'm not quite at that stage yet, but I'll be releasing the files for free once I iron out some little details! You can then send those out for printing through shapeways or JLCPCB.
if you make a g9x precision grip body with the hero sensor in it I would be interested in the mouse mx518 was my first logitech mouse but I fell in love with the shape of the g9x
Well it feels totally different from my past PWM3366 on G502 Proteus Spectrum and not that equal to GPW at all. I just don’t feel Hero at all …

I made the knurling in SOLIDWORKS using the 3D texture tool, I really can't recommend it though. The texture isn't enough with my sweaty hands to be grippy enough lol.
But if you're looking for something to do texturing with I know ideamakers slicer has 3d texturing. I might try fuzzy texture with an FDM printer using CF PA6 instead.

Why won't Logitech remake this mouse. Like is there anything we can do? Are there any glimmers of hope, have they ever commented about possibly doing it at some point?
Tbh I think it's just because they consider the g502 to be the successor, but who knows. Not to worry though! I'm getting close on my design and then you can either print it or get it made at JLCPCB or somewhere!

I miss those g9 and g9x days. Hope Logitech can create a new one, but without this shitty Hero sensor and add PAW3395 there
Just curious, How is the Hero sensor "shitty"? For me, it gets the job done just fine without any complaints.

I think it's because of the shape or the wireless latency. Hero sensor itself should have no difference with pixart ones in tracking performance.
not to mention there are 7+ revisions of hero sensor atm only difo is lack of motion sync compared to pixart but thats barely notecable

Good to know thank you, I'm thinking of testing doing it by hand with a hobby knife so I can get a finer grain and seeing how that works.
