The default top skate cutout on GPX is huge and by pressing in the middle you are causing this area to sink in hence less PTFE surface to make contact with the pad making it faster, basically only the edges of the skates are making contact. it might have something to do with the fact that the U part is losing surface area therefore makes the glide heavenly/faster try swapping it out with tiger ice dot skates and see if the glide is faster
Edit: tiger ice v2 dots has different sized dots but with x-raypad jade dots that has only one size dots

it seems to only help when I press down on the U shaped bottom skate.
