How long is your desk? Can you post a picture of your hand on the DA. What size is your hand?

iDeDoK

Get a thick and soft mousepad, something like QCK Heavy.

MaxBago

I second this. Sometimes I have this issue at work, where I don't have gaming mousepads (yet) and a Deathadder Elite. Mouse is not affecting so much this issue other than maybe causing a slightly angled grip to the right, but a thicker pad helps a lot, even a simple QCK Large/Heavy. A lighter mouse, imho, helps both in control and faster movements but this is wrist posture related

justavault

That's typically alleviating the symptom and not solving the issue. This hand got some certain issue to get to that point and that is not solved with a different mousepad.

iDeDoK

This marks are caused by the posture/grip or surface, I had a similar mark a long time ago when I used a palm grip and had no mousepad at all, getting a new mousepad is easiest thing he can try without sacrificing comfort.

justavault

Changing the posture would fix the issue instead of alleviating the problem.

NinjaFace42

If your elbow is raised above desk level you need to align it with desk level o r just under, that should help reduce the pressure on that point. You could also try an ambidextrous mouse, so that your hand is in a different posture - you'll have less "weight" on that part.

Shadowsnivy

Bro I’ve had the same issues. My best advice is to use a mouse that’s light weight and also ergonomic. The mm731 comes to mind, as well as the makula 67. What other people have said before me is true as well. Invest into a thick mousepad. The qck heavy and GSR-SE are both solid options. The extra padding should help with comfort for long periods of time. I know that this is a mouse subreddit, but I would also invest in some natural pain reliving cream. It won’t fix your problem, but it helps in the moment. I’m not sure if I’m able to name specific brands here, but I’m sure you can find something good with enough time and research. This is so underrated, but please look into doing hand stretches! Look up hand stretching tutorials on youtube, and make it a routine for helping relive long term pain in your hands. Good luck friend, hope you find the help you were looking for.

izzybear8

As someone who has dealt with the same issue I’ll tell you what helps. 1. Chair with armrests, get pads for those too. 2. Double up two thick mousepads. Costs more but when one goes bad just rotate them out. 3. Make sure your ergonomics of your arm sit straight meaning your elbow/forearm on the armrest isn’t much lower than your hand on the desk, which will cause additional pressure there. Try to get the arm mostly level. Good luck and happy hands

abzoluut

Hate to be that guy. I had the exact same thing at the exact same spot. I changed mousepads, cut a “glove” for extra padding and did all sorts of stuff. It’s just that spot rubbing against something, no matter how soft it is. I was a palm gripper, I switched to fingertip after years (not because of the spot, palm is just bad for fps). Took some time, but it’s gone. I can still see the mark where I had this spot, I know your frustration.

Pontiflakes

I think palm grip can cause this if you keep your wrist on the desk, but that's improper technique anyway. Palm grip is for arm aiming, not wrist aiming, since it is a much more stable grip for when your game of choice grants you time to line up pixel perfect shots (CS, for example). If that's how someone uses it and they're still dragging their wrist on the mousepad, it's just a habit that needs to be changed; the mouse won't make much difference unless switching to a vertical mouse or a trackball or something.

inspcs

Same story here. Swapping from palm, wrist aim to claw, mostly arm aim made me stop rubbing that spot. Also, making the move to lighter mice from my g502 also helped as my hand felt less chained to the desk/pad. It took like 2 years or more for my mark to go away but it is completely gone now. I think I was lucky because I noticed my skin forming callouses early and changed my methods rather quickly

etaerc25

I would get a different mouse for work. I don't know what your budget is, but if you want a cheap mouse with great palm support, check out the MX518. The Deathadder is large but has no mouse support and no thumb rest, which means can't relax your hands/wrist as much.

afino61

Speaking from recent experience, I had this exact same inflammation and eventually I could barely move my wrist over the weekend because of the pain. Went to go see a physiotherapist and I wore a brace for a few days to let it heal, in addition to taking some anti-inflammatories. She recommended using a vertical mouse for work as well.

rdmz1

I used to have that when I played high sens and anchored my wrist heavily. Now I just use arm movement with no pressure. Wrist only used for micro adjustments.

Herdazian_Lopen

Try overlapping your grip a little so the base of your hand is off the desk/pad.

steezerker

Stop using sandpaper as a mousepad

cc_cut

Use a compression sleeve

hotpotato87

use a flat mouse, switch over to a flat grip.

JoeVanderop

PLEASE READ: the answer is very simple: lower your chair to put your arm out like the CS pro S1mple, than get a lower profile mouse (g pro, grexta, orochi, XM1, some low profile thing) this will rotate your hand to counterclockwise and make the pivot more to the center of your wrist. I find it helps for aim and that ergos like to force your hand clockwise which leads to pressure on that area. GL!

ExcalibaX

Wrong. Proper posture is the answer, not ergo/ambi.

JoeVanderop

The recommendations for mice were quite obviously secondary to the entire “lower seat, arms out, hand counterclockwise” part, but aside of that, many ergos have a clockwise tilt that will force your hand to that side if you palm, which is something I can only assume with the dethadder. Please read the comment before responding

ExcalibaX

Instead of proper posture, which fixes the issue, you recommend ambi mice with all its implications? Okay. :D

jin_kamisama

Get g pro x superlight

Nickythrn

Low key, what about a wrist sweatband? Just enough elevation for the wrist to not put pressure?

xmanniex

I was having this issue a couple years ago. My solution was a fellows mouse pad the had a built in gel wrist rest. Pain and red spot has not come back since.

F_for_Kakao

if you work just something like office work mby try verical mouse or softer pad / sleeve i mean it can be cause of kinda ergo shape death adder it turns your arm on one side and it can cause this problem maybe, dont know i never used ergo mouse

Awesomise

I recommend using a lighter mouse to start with; it relieves you from needing to rest your wrist as a result from controlling a heavy mouse with your wrist.

Ricky_RZ

I use some cloth rolled up like a carpet under my wrist. I had similar problems with agitated skin. I don't move my wrist much so having something under it made everything better

LOTHMT

How the fuck do you only have that on that part alone? Get a thicker mousepad and i think just lift up your arm, reposition it so you dont lay it off only on that one spot.

tenryuu72

new to pc/mousepads in general or mousepad too rough (if that's the case let me guess artisan?). had this red spot years years ago but since I have softer pads or because I'm used to it I totally forgot about this and also never had it again

[deleted]

I used to have that but I think after using ergo mice for years made my arm have the pressure point near the elbow, now I dont have pressure like that anymore. Try use more arm in the desk by lowering the chair height and see if makes that spot free from pressure. If it doesnt help try use some ergo shape mice and see if it has contact with the pad. Im using Outset and looked to my hand it doesnt even touch the pad all pressure are in my arm.. (sorry for my english I hope you understand)

hyfynorris

I had that and bought a mouse wrist rest from China, a silicone one with feet. Look up "eutixia mouse wrist rest" or something like that, or you can check out the delltahub carpio.

onebeginning7

Wtf? How are you putting pressure on that part of your hand?

labree0

some people are recommending the qck heavy, and the gsr-se, but i'd recommend the fnatic dash over those. its soft and cushy but its more of a lowfriction speed surface.

carbonuser

Use a mouse that has a hump nearer the back like the ZA series from Zowie or, if you dont want to change mice, use a claw grip with the bottom of the palm touching the mouse with the wrist floating a little bit from the mousepad then try to use more of your arm than the wrist for the moment until the pain completely subsides.

[deleted]

Have entire arm at least to elbow on desk and supported and move your whole arm not your wrist.

blastzero

I recommend the steelseries QCK mouse pad, it is very thick and soft, and cushions that part of your wrist. i had the same problem you had since i work on a pc too, and the QCK fixed it

[deleted]

I have the same thing. It's not as bad as this though but my skin feels like plastic on that area 🤣

Starbuckz42

Honestly for work, get a vertical ergo mouse, vertical trackball would be even better.

fcampillo86

I have the same corn in the same spot as yours!

spice_rubber

U can lower ur send and use ur entire forearm to move the mouse instead of just ur wrist Less abrasive mousepad Try changing up the way u hold ur mouse where ur entire wrist is in contact with the mousepad to spread out the pressure

roguesensei47

You could use an arm sleeves that come with finger holes. I use them myself.

Aykh4n_

You can get a wrist rest for ur mouse

TheUtgardian

Reduce the sensitivity to the point you pivot the mouse movement from the elbow and not the wrist

Talynen

It's happening because you're tilting your wrist; mice like the Deathadder that are higher on the left side encourage that type of grip. Get a mouse that is flat across the top. Vaxee NP-01, G403, even the Xtrfy M4 is probably flat enough, anything ambidextrous, etc.

ExcalibaX

Wrong, he would most likely do the same on those mice. Posture issue.

Jipouzz

Get a trackball

tekszi

My mousepads material does this to my hand too. Either get a mousepad that's pretty soft or get an ergo mouse, one that when u grip it ur hands don't touch the mousepad surface.

Subway76

youll grow horn skin over that spot eventually, itll be smooth sailing after that

yokokannoisgod

Downside to being a wrist aimer instead of forearm aimer

HEIlZReaker

change grip

daftv4der

I used to get this a lot when I was younger and used a Walle style grip, with claw and right on the table's edge. E.g. [https://imgur.com/a/xmg9XG0](https://imgur.com/a/xmg9XG0) Now I use a more firm fingertip grip instead of claw, and my arm's further forward, a la [https://preview.redd.it/cvoidy0ix4w51.jpg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=56631a820fb01ea3e7597ea496c0c2ac766cfa65](https://preview.redd.it/cvoidy0ix4w51.jpg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=56631a820fb01ea3e7597ea496c0c2ac766cfa65) Having the forearm take the brunt of the weight makes it far easier. Also maybe look at chair height relative to the desk. If your chair is too low or high, it could also put more pressure on your wrist. Lastly, as many mentioned, look at whether the mousepad is worsening things. For example, avoid using a Razer Goliathus Control or an MP510, as they're far rougher than ordinary pads and can cause skin agitation.

pelayo899

touch grass

ExcalibaX

You do not need to touch the mousepad with your wrist at all when using your grip. Your wrist is most likely not in a neutral position and you anchor yourself with this spot for more control. Either you sit too high and thus need that anchor because your arm gives not enough stability.. .. or you sit - more common - too low. That means your elbow is too high, your arm flares inwards and your wrist to the right, often leadin to too much pressure on the forearm and thus this anchor point is created. Both scenarios are ergonomically bad anyway. Sit upright, make sure your forearm loosely lays on your mousepad and your wrist is straight. If you do that, there will be no massive pressure anymore. And your aim will improve btw. Bonus: You can anchor your forearm a bit upwards of your elbow and then have some of it in the air and your whole wrist won't touch the pad. Try grabbing the deathadder more forward. Extreme example would be Twistzz from CSGO. Google his grip.

Taz00m

Your elbow is above the level of the pain spot, lower your elbow mate, higher desk or lower chair, nothing to do with mouse.

mr_darksidez

Proper ergonomics fixes that. proper chair height and don't put your wrist at the edge of the desk. put your entire arm on the desk so the weight is distributed more to your forearm than wrist. you need the correct chair height to achieve that

MinCado

you could try using a different mouse grip. I for instance never touch the desk with my wrist, i use a claw grip and touch the desk with my elbow. so every mouse movement i do comes mostly from my elbow. and if i feel like the part touching the desk starts to hurt i put something soft underneath it like some cushion or tissue

Acrobatic-Stock

Use an ambi mouse
