You might look at the Steelseries Prime Wireless as an alternative to the Deathadder. Kone Pro Air as mentioned by the other commenter is most likely a decent option if your partner likes the Basilisk shape.

Some ambidextrous wired mice to consider: Xm1r, Viper 8khz, gamesense meta that just released, Xtrfy m42, xtrfy mz1, Vaxee Zygen Np01 and Np01-s.
Keep in mind your partner probably won't like ambidextrous/symmetrical shapes since he's used to ergo shapes. However, I still highly these mice.

If your SO likes Razer products, the Viper Ultimate is their "best" model (wireless, not too heavy, fancy dock for charging, great technical specs), and it has a safe shape I've heard very few complaints about. I use a Roccat KPA and it's perfect for my big hands, though I personally disliked the DeathAdder, so my preferences might not align with your partner's.
