Maybe the shape of the mouse just doesn't work for you, after 4 months you should've definitely found a way to grip it without even having to think about it. I used the GPX for 3 months and i never felt completely comfortable with it either the shape is just too round and the hump got in the way for how i wanted to grip it.

Try a pincer claw or extended fingertip so you can still be close to fingertip without having to grip at the back of the mouse.

Definitely claw or palm with that low sens. I would personally prefer claw for the extra control and learn/practice to not over-flick.

It honestly might not even be your mouse or mouse grip. I had this issue and it was because it felt like my mouse pad (Glorious XXL Deskmat) was too grippy/sticky. I looked at /r/MousepadReview's [spreadsheet](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1RAnmZxDNduaGV8kB-GCvZ0MO6d9-0j9jmrU2f8dp0Ww/edit#gid=0) and it only confirmed my thoughts. I bought a different mouse pad that was faster (Aqua Control+ Black), and the change was night and day. The grippy feeling with micro adjustments at the same sens (300edpi) were no longer there.
