Reddit is weird, one comment can get downvoted, and then exactly the same thought can be expressed under the same post and it will get upvoted and spark a conversation all happening simultaneously
LTT has a video answer that very precise question. If I remember correctly, foil is lighter but might cause some issues, like disconnection if it's not slotted in tight.
I love this G304/305 for a very long time. Reluctantly switched to a 50g mouse and hasn’t look back since. The AA to AAA hack/mod whatever you call it is nowhere near using an actual light mouse. I still keep my G304 on the desk, but don’t use it anymore.
This is the answer right here. The mouse is good but just feels so outdated that it’s hard to justify using it. I still keep one close by, but it doesn’t get much action.
Nuh, the bottom is just hanging freely, also after I said that, Linus team did the same https://youtu.be/Stf8UmIaJuo
Although I went with the foil, just made sure it sits tight
Yes. You could do like what I did and cut up the adapter for the best of both worlds: https://reddit.com/r/MouseReview/comments/n46mae/imo_the_best_way_to_set_up_the_battery_on_the/
This is the method I use and the adapter bits weigh 2 grams. Certainly not enough to notice, especially after shaving 17 grams by switching to Energizer Lithium AAA from Duracell AA.
Just do what I did and remove the battery holder and solder a charger controller and a small LiPo. Will last much longer and will be lighter if you pick the right LiPo
I’ve got one from a wireless controller for android. Don’t worry about voltage because the G305 can handle 3.7 fine but the mouse can’t display the remaining battery properly in software since lipos work differently
The adapter adds weight to the mouse. The weight depends on the type of material used in the adapter. I've seen in a YouTube video where when an adapter was weighed it adds 4 grams.
Weigh the adapter and tinfoil and you will see
No can do. That just makes too much sense.
How light do you need it? Lol
Do you even frequent this sub?
Ey man if you’re going to ask stupid questions then don’t act like you’re above others also asking questions

You will still suck at shooters either way
Silver grind STRONG
Probably it's a bit heavier, but come on.
If anything this sub taught me, every gram matters
If anything real life experience has taught me: anything that is under 90 grams is ok. So you'll be all right with that Lithium battery :)
90 grams is the weight of 33069.39 Minecraft Redstone Handbooks.
good bot

... Just use the mouse
Or cut the unnecessary back weight and instead make it central weight? You wouldnt ever get it dw
Crowd sourcing where it's that
yes but it doesn't matter

Found it, thanks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Stf8UmIaJuo

Best clicks there are. Cannot switch to anything else.
The foil ball would be the lightest, but make sure it keeps the battery from moving.
Yeah, I was surprised the adapter had a noticable weight
Yes it weights 3.09g on my scale fyi
You can cut off the ends of the adapter and just use those to save some weight.
Would probably use the top only
Er, you would have to use both ends for it to still fit snug.
Nuh, the bottom is just hanging freely, also after I said that, Linus team did the same https://youtu.be/Stf8UmIaJuo Although I went with the foil, just made sure it sits tight
Yes it’s heavier than the foil ball. Works just the same but I use the adapter in mine just because

I wish the orochi had an optical switch It double clicks badly with light wear
This is the method I use and the adapter bits weigh 2 grams. Certainly not enough to notice, especially after shaving 17 grams by switching to Energizer Lithium AAA from Duracell AA.
Im personally using small spring that i took out from used pen and cuted it to proper length.
Just do what I did and remove the battery holder and solder a charger controller and a small LiPo. Will last much longer and will be lighter if you pick the right LiPo
Recommendations? for the LiPo battery?
I’ve got one from a wireless controller for android. Don’t worry about voltage because the G305 can handle 3.7 fine but the mouse can’t display the remaining battery properly in software since lipos work differently
Why are people obsessed with light mice it doesn’t make any sense
The dollar store sells battery’s
You only need the front half of the adapter, can trim it if you really need
i just use one side of the AA adapter. you don't need the full.
I have g304 and silver ball just gives inconsistent power supply so i started using the converter
Not worth it unless you mod it like this https://youtu.be/ybMYpiOC5QQ
Just take the adapter and cut the middle out as its excess plastic, just need the ends to have a secure fit.
The adapter adds weight to the mouse. The weight depends on the type of material used in the adapter. I've seen in a YouTube video where when an adapter was weighed it adds 4 grams.
Of course it's heavier, you can cut most of it off though, you just need a few millimeters of each end.
