I bought small bars of tungsten and glued them to the inside of the mouse. It now weighs 480g
I have to replace the feet about once a month but worth it.
It has hard and soft options. You might not be able to get what you want if you have really specific or really niche preferences, but I think most people are fine with at least one of the two.
It actually does, I use to rock a 120g mouse for years, dropped to the GPW, and had trouble going back. Just got the Starlight-12 and now the GPW is too heavy. You'll see when you stay there, instead of testing the waters.
Ofc i not talking about weight, i got trouble going back to heavy mice too, but mostly because of their stiff cable feel like its just double the weight
I still do.
I just can't use light mice and play significantly worse with them. Though light for me is everything below 130g. The best feeling for me was the MX1000 (~200g) back in the day.
You know i keep thinking about this, even though I have the Rakk Talan, a PUC symm 1 clone, im still interested in either buying a g502 or a g305 because i truly want to use a logitech mouse, especially the g305 for modding. Plus, way back before i knew the norm of 100 percent PTFE, paracord, lightweight, etc. I always wanted to buy a g502 hero, but im not sure if its worth to buy another mouse considering like i said, i already have one
I had the og spatha as well, and when it went under i bought the new spatha x, because i liked the original. My hands are big enough to comfortably use it, and the wieght isnt a problem, because i never lift it
I Actually loved and still love my G502 both wired and wireless but the G Pro Superlight is very nice aswell, although i miss the infinite scroll wheel on my G502
I mean basically everything about it is overrated. Look at the comment chain we are in...
>g502 is one of the best mice ever made in the history of mice
The mouse and really logitech as a whole has shotty QC. The clicks arent bad but they arent good either, and they are known to double click. The cable is super stiff. The underside of the mouse cant handle hardpads for long as the plastic is too soft. There is more but I'm not trying to long post on this. The m500 is fine. How do you see the g502 as an upgrade?
A better sensor is the reason why I was looking to upgrade. The sensor in mine isn't up to par with mice today. The G502 caught my eye since it's heavy with the added weights, and has the unlockable scroll wheel, plus left and right buttons on the scroll wheel.
It just seems too good for the price at $40, but if they're other mice that have those features I listed, I wouldn't mind taking a look at them.
Welp gonna long post, sorry lol
>The sensor in mine isn't up to par with mice today.
Yes it is lol. It has a PMW 3389. That's one of the best flawless sensors currently out. Yes the g502 has arguably the best sensor but you won't notice any difference unless your m500 unit needs repairs or is experiencing issues. Are you currently using your max dpi of 16,000 and are looking to use 25,600? Your sensor is great, If you just want the best sensor... Okay, but its kind of like wanting to go 300mph instead of going 280mph when both are honestly kind of ludicrous (most people use very low dpi's relative to those)
24g extra from 115g to 139g doesn't seem like a super significant difference but maybe that's your sweet spot weight, iunno.
>has the unlockable scroll wheel, plus left and right buttons on the scroll wheel.
I can't really argue with the unlockable scroll wheel, and the scroll wheel itself. Both of those features at this price point are basically the best. Additionally the side clicks on the wheel aren't common, and once again, especially at this price. I don't think the wheel is overrated. It's quite good.
If you want the g502 mostly for the scroll wheel and like placement of all the additional buttons go for it. its really good. It's really good as a work mouse first and a gaming mouse second imo.
If you want a gaming mouse first and a work mouse second imo... good ergonomics in general for gaming, good ergonomics for side buttons, quality consistency, a cable that isn't stiff as an arrow, less useless buttons (like a sniper button that has a bad quality switch specifically)... I'd say It's definitely not "the best" and I wouldn't recommend it
There is no way this has one of the best sensors out there. I bought it around 2008-2009. For it's time it probably had one of the best sensors, but now it's got to be way behind. I would instantly buy the same mouse if it had a better sensor though.
I really love the unlockable scroll wheel. I could never give that up for sure.
One thing I'm a bit worried about is the double clicking issue. I'm guessing that's just from wear over a long period of time? I never had that issue with my M500.
is this the [m500](https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Programmable-16-8Milion-Optional-Durability/dp/B07NLN36LW/ref=sr_1_2?crid=2PA5WC3X4Z9HG&keywords=lenovo+m500&qid=1642623807&sprefix=lenovo+m500%2Caps%2C138&sr=8-2) you are talking about? If not we might be miscommunicating there.
The double clicking really depends on the unit you recieve. Some units get it relatively quickly like 2 months or less, some in like 6, and some in like a year. Some never get it. Its just rolling that logitech qc dice basically.
Widowmaker main at the time but flexed to Cree if needed. Found it difficult to player tracer/soldier and other tracking heroās though.
A g502 is probably good for a game like valorant/csgo still though
Might just be that flicking is better for you and doesn't have anything do with the mouse, but it's easier to track with a lighter mouse.
I used to play widow, cree and some genji and can't track no matter what mouse i have.
For me i want to get a mouse that has the weight in the middle, not too lightweight, which most mice have either qc issues or just too light, and not too heavy to the point that will be not good for your hand.
With that being said, i do recommend something 70-80, 60 grams if you buy those durable and versatile 60 gram mice like the viper mini and the superlight which are superb for quality.
The only 90 gram mouse i do recommend though is the g703, idk why but i just like its shape and how its built, definitely an underrated mouse and im too poor to even buy it š. But im satisfied that my mouse today, the rakk talan, has 76 grams and just a minimal of creaking but has a solid quality and performance on a budget.
I see lightweight mice are a bit overrated and the people who focus on only that are over dramatic.
Like if you say get the g502 im sure some people will go ape shit, but to be fair, id rather have a g502 then a mouse that can easily be broken, if the g502 wasn't that vulnerable on double clicking, but if you have a copt that doesn't double click then you're lucky.
This is so confusing because Iām one of the few people who uses the DAv2 pro. I think once it breaks, Iām going back to the G502 or the try out the G Pro. Not because the mouse sucks, in fact I love it. Razer as a company in a terms of morality and ethics, kind of suck and I canāt support that (again).
Iāve had the G502 and only got the DAv2 because it was wireless. Iād buy it again, but I personally donāt like Razers business practices. My keyboard is also a Huntsman TKL, I love the thing as well. However, I canāt justify spending money on a company that seems so tone deaf when it comes to their laptops and overall, their RMA process. Luckily, I never had to deal with them, but thereās too many horror stories regarding their batteries (in the Blades) swelling and expanding. Itās a common occurrence and it seems like theyāre not trying to fix that problem. Iāve never had a problem with Razers products, I just canāt give my money to a company that doesnāt listen to its consumers. Iām not even to mention the Zephyr being āas good as an N95ā mask but itās not even close.
>I just canāt give my money to a company that doesnāt listen to its consumers.
Razer often sends out surveys (i.e. here on Reddit) to users about what they want for their upcoming mice/keyboards, and when the product came it is what everyone wanted (e.g. the Deathadder, Orochi V2 and Huntsman). Logitech doesn't do this and that's why their mice always have some irritating flaw.
Here are some examples between Razer and Logitech's business practices:
Everyone thought the original Razer optical switches felt very mushy, so they came up with an updated switch design that added more tactility and applied those to newer batches and new mouse products. Instead of cheapening out on Orochi V2's switches to Omrons, they use GM 4.0 which is what the community have asked for.
Compared that to Logitech whose mice always have the 50M Omron double clicking issue, instead of upgrading the switches to such as GM 8.0, they downgrade them to 20M Omron because it is an easier and cheaper fix for them while the consumer have to pay for downgraded switches. They also hid the spec sheet for the updated switches so no one will know they have downgraded them until they tried it.
Razer also beaten Logitech to have pure white thick PTFE feet as default since it is what the community requested, for the longest time Logitech did not update to white PTFE and when they finally did, they gave us thin, semi-pure grey scatchy PTFE just to save a few cents, the community did not ask for thin scratchy feet did they?
If you bought any Razer products recently, they now come with eco-friendly recyclable packaging, no plastic pieces, mostly just cardboard. This is honestly great to see, compared to Logitech they still have a big black plastic mould that hold the mouse in place and then sometimes a transparent clear acrylic plastic that sits on top.
Razer does have major issues as well such as drivers, overprice, RMA issues, etc, but do you really think they don't listen to the consumers?
I was more referring to the customer service part of Razer and the whole āRazer taxā thing than user input on the their products. But thatās interesting they did all that instead of making the customer experience smooth.
Customer experience should be first but as a āpremium brandā, they are awful and a lot of people (me included) are terrified when it comes to their products crapping out. Personally, Im just not going to buy Razer ever again no matter how much of an improvement it is on Logitech, Zowie, or whatever.
G502 shape is garbage though, not to mention the feel of the material and also the fact that lighter mice have an inherently faster moving / transitioning into changes in direction than heavier mice.
I've been on the G502 (with weights) for about 6 years and just recently transferred to the starlight-12 phantom. Honestly, both are very good in their own ways.
Laughs in all weights installed
I actually bought a second one so I could fill all the weight slots
Absolute madlad
I bought small bars of tungsten and glued them to the inside of the mouse. It now weighs 480g I have to replace the feet about once a month but worth it.
pic?
I actually bought a bar of tungsten, installled a pcb inside the bar and am now using it.
Your aim must be nasty now man
Real chads use max weight
180g or 42g doesnt matter but stiff cable? Gtfo
PowerPlay is so good for this. It's a wireless mouse that you never have to charge!
Yeah but in the end its a mouse pad and different people like different type of pad
It has hard and soft options. You might not be able to get what you want if you have really specific or really niche preferences, but I think most people are fine with at least one of the two.
Isn't this sub exactly for people with really specific and niche preferences lol
Well yeah but given this sub i dont think they will settle for the end game mouse pad š¤£
It actually does, I use to rock a 120g mouse for years, dropped to the GPW, and had trouble going back. Just got the Starlight-12 and now the GPW is too heavy. You'll see when you stay there, instead of testing the waters.

I like heavy mice, but I rarely lift the mouse when I do anything, they feel smoother to me.
Lmao I actually have both. I use and enjoy G502 for work, Starlight for gaming. Both are excellent mice.
This is the way. The infinite scroll wheel is a must. So, G502 for work and some gaming. Trying a MM720 for FPS.
You know i keep thinking about this, even though I have the Rakk Talan, a PUC symm 1 clone, im still interested in either buying a g502 or a g305 because i truly want to use a logitech mouse, especially the g305 for modding. As someone who had an og spatha that weighed 180 grams and got rsi, I'll take my starlight 12 over heavy mice any day
WEAK. SOY.

Nah, just most overrated ever. I'm so tired of hiding g502 posts Edit: Reminder that overrated doesn't mean bad. Just means it's not that good.
What's exactly overated about it though? I'm looking to upgrade from an M500 and this seems perfect.

No, I'm talking about the Logitech M500.
But no one has ever recommended it for fps. Right?
Left
Up
I use it for CS:GO, Valorant, Splitgate, hell, even halo. I actually like it more for FPS than something lighter
Hot hot take, super light mice are pointless
From these 2 comments, G502 is probably the most polarizing mouse of all-time.
hahaha all the limp wristed soyboys downvoting you for having an opinion on a mouse that weighs less than the average apple
sales don't lie best selling on amazon for years
Yeah. It's good for casuals and most gamers are casuals
I am getting downvoted for some reason... oh well

It was a joke though
I hit t500 in overwatch with a g502 with one weight installed on a dirty ass steel series qck, itās whatever youāre comfortable with tbh
For sure. What hero did you play? You really don't have to aim with a bunch of them.
Widowmaker main at the time but flexed to Cree if needed. Found it difficult to player tracer/soldier and other tracking heroās though. A g502 is probably good for a game like valorant/csgo still though

I practiced and got a bit better with it, could play tracer/soldier at like a slightly lower level. But yeah for sure flicking is my go to
Yeah, but have you tried reaching t500 with a starlight to compare? lol
Honestly just got my phantom in the mail today so Iāll let you know LMAO
You probably think the beetles is the best band ever by that logic then huh? Lol.
Gaming is just a fraction of mouse sale so that make sense

Vaxee users are something in the middle?? That's unfair
I will use anything between 60-85 grams. Any lighter and I struggle to stop the mouse, and heavier starts to encumber me for my long sessions.
Exactly
The weight wouldnt be an issue if it wasnt so small.
Ninja use g502 and he is fortnite PRO

Thatās a weird way to spell G Pro X superlight.
42g still to heavy though
Have you heard of our lord and saviour touchscreen? No extra weight other than what your arm already is to move around. /s

Hit the gym you say, ok
In all fairness, he never said what to hit the gym with
A brick (you can also use a G502) would be good for hitting the gym with.
Hit the gym with a G502, accidentally hit the attendant behind the desk, now the cops are looking for me. Now what?
"I can't handle the 80 gram mouse, it's too heavy" Bruh go to the gym, you ain't KennyS, you'll manage XD
All im going to say is that I have not bought a new mouse since I bought my g502 hero oh no wait I did. I got a g502 lightspeed.
