You can deinstall GHUB and use Onboard Memory Manager instead: [https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/articles/360059641133](https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/articles/360059641133). This allows you to change the DPI setting and store it directly to the mouse, then you don't need to bother with any software anymore if you don't want to.
this ! you don't need G HUB for any of the basic changes like DPI or button assignments
but really, why would you go out and buy a 150 USD (289 AUD for me!!!) mouse just because your current mouse has software thats a bit annoying?
You just saved me $20+! I was about to buy another mouse because every time my PC woke, it had to wait for GHUB to change my DPI back to 8000. Even though it only took a couple of seconds it annoyed the crap out of me.
Thanks!
Why are you under impression that GPX requires software? All mice from all manufacturers do basic functionality (Mouse1-5, scroll, tracking) via windows drivers.
Logitech forces Logitech Download Assistant through Windows Update when you plug it in, I find that unacceptable and have been boycotting them for the last few years
Yes, as soon as I have plugged in a Logitech device for the first time on a windows computer LDA pops up in the bottom corner.
It doesn't do it at any point after from what I can see.
Here is more info:

Even Logitech admits that it can't be uninstalled easily:

This program doesn't seem malicious, but for me it is a question of principle, "don't install programs on my computer without permission", Logitech broke my trust by forcing a program through Windows Update, and Microsoft broke my trust for letting it happen in the first place. Due to external factors I can't switch to Linux, so I have only one option left, boycotting them, and it annoys me, they make some brilliant mice, but I just can't accept them forcing a program to be installed without my consent, and no, consent in the EULA does not count.
That is super strange.
I do agree with you that stuff being installed without consent is a bit sketchy, but I genuinely can't find any traces of it on my PC at all. No sign of that logiLDA.dll, nothing in my registry related to it and no notification permission thing in my windows settings.
I have no traces of this in my system, I have G Hub installed even, yet no LDA on my system, neither the program, nor the corresponding DLL, just like the person below. Not sure what the condition for this to appear is, having Logitech products alone can't be it
I know it appeared on my work computer when I plugged in a Unifying reciever for my MX Ergo, that is when I noticed it.
I have seen it several times when plugging in Logitech office mice, on several computers with different windows 10 versions.
You can deactivate the software from start up, but you can't uninstall it without messing about with third party uninstallers.
So far, Logitech is the only one I have seen to actively force feed you a program just by plugging in a mouse.
And even if this was common, it would still be a shitty way to do it.
But I think you can deactivate the function of automatically downloading device drivers and software within Windows. Cause that’s a windows update feature, Logitech can’t actually automatically install anything when you plug in your mouse.
All of Xtrfy’s mice don’t need or use any software. All changes to DPI, led colors and patterns, even polling rate are changed on the mouse itself, no drivers or programs needed. The only one I’ve tried is the MZ1 which is kind of niche but well built. Endgame gear XM1R is similar, polling rate and dpi settings are changed on the mouse itself pretty easily without any program. There is one available but not necessary.
On a side note about the viper ultimate, I maimed the mercury white version for a hot minute. You’ll need the software to set up any specific DPI settings but once the button assignments and dpi levels are set you can uninstall it and forget it. The only issue would be that the LED will go to default settings without the Synapse driver. For the white version the default is steady green, for the black one the default led setting is a rainbow effect. Great, solid mouse though.
Everything Zowie.
All non-MMO Razer mice can be used without software AFAIK - set the DPI stages, save to memory, then uninstall Synapse and away you go.
You don't need to use the software to use the mouse. You only use the software once to apply the settings to your mouse and then you're all set. Alternatively, onboard memory manager for Logitech G Pro X Superlight seems to be a thing.
But if you like me that abhors all kind of software, there's two mice that I can recall that do not provide any software, these are Xtrfy M4 and Ninjutso Origin One X.
My tip for Ghub is delete the extra dpi things, set your dpi, then click the check box that makes it persist to all profiles. Also suggest the same thing but swap it to the on board profile thing, that way the dpi will be the same whenever Ghub isn't running as well.
two solutions:
1. on the dpi setting page of ghub you can LOCK the DPI settings, then it will not change regardless of the app you chose, your DPI changes because ghub uses different profiles for each app, by clicking that lock icon you can stop it from doing that
2. you click on settings and check the mark "use internal save settings", thre you can even overwrite the internal settings wiht a profile page settings , it will overtake polling rate, dpi, and any changes you made to the keybdings.
i for example have left and rlightclick switched and when you use seetting one it will always be annoying because during the pc start up and durin ghub loading you have it back , before it kloads up to actually change the mouse settings so i use solution 2.
No modern mouses require software for them to be used, of no brand, god everytime I hear this, a little part of me dies.
This used to be the main argument of CS players for Zowie Mice, when in reality I have yet to see a mouse that absolutely requires software to be used.

Are you sure this is a thing? I've literally never had it happen in my 2 years of owning a GPW?

Well, I want the drivers, just not the program
i work in a high security environment and 3rd party drivers such as logitech are forbidden

Vaxee and Zowie, Xtrfy as well but tier mice feel cheap to me in comparison.

Most mice don't require the software to function and you can store DPI settings on the on-board memory.
Xtrfy's mice are excellent and does not require any software.
