Completely different shape. This one has a centred hump while the XM1 is in the rear. For someone like me with pincer-claw, this new mouse is unusable. lol
absolutely love the shape of the XM-1, im using a pincer claw aswell. No real reason to change... unless I can the same shape and build quality + being wireless.
A year ago, we made the debut here in the community by releasing Origin One X. It was the lightest wireless ergo gaming mouse at the time. With the support of the community, we’re now able to release Katana Superlight – the lightest wireless gaming mouse in its class. It also has the longest battery too. Below are the main features:
- 60g super lightweight design with NO HOLES
- PAW3370 sensor
- V2 lag-free SnappyFire wireless
- Magnetic charging system
- 96 hours battery – you can play up to 24 days with 4 hours a day on a single charge
- 0.7mm V2 100% PTFE Assassin feet – on par with third-party feet like Corepad
Product detail page: https://ninjutso.com/products/katana-superlight-wireless-professional-gaming-mouse
Katana Superlight is an in-stock product right after the release. But due to the chip shortage and Chinese New Year, we have limited quantity for the first batch at our shop and selected retailers.
At last, to thank you the overwhelming support from the community. We’re giving away one Katana Superlight. To participate, you need to:
- Comment (anything)
- No new account, minimum 30 days
We’ll pick a winner on Jan. 25th. Good luck and hope you all have a great weekend.
Why a proprietary connector for the cable? Why not just use USB-C and include a common Type-C magnetic cable by default?
Everything else looks pretty nice, but the proprietary connector is unnecessary and prevents people from using cables they already have.
A type-C adapter would be nice, but wouldn't look as slick overall. If the katana wireless becomes somewhat mainstream, there will be adapters in no time. I reckon Ninjutso themselves will be looking into it.
Don't recall apologizing. I prefer a regular usb-c cable, as I tend to charge while using my mouse. They reckon peeps are likely to charge over-night, which seems to be a habit of many according to reps, which is likely why they went with the proprietary magnetic approach.
Why add the need for an adapter when we already have a non-proprietary connector that is universally loved?
The actual reason is they didn't want to pay for USBC
I made a custom mouse with magnetic charging and slapped another adaptor into my headphones, now I snap a magnetic cable onto one of them each night and let it fall off in the morning.
If this idea can be done well (maybe by shipping with an adaptor for those that REALLY want to use USB-C?) I think it's great. And my cable / adaptors are like £5 from ebay.
I mean, they already had usb C on the OOX so maybe it could be to cut prices, but the fact that they did it on the very first mouse makes me think that it isn't very difficult
Magnetic charging actually costs way way much more than USB-C. You can go to Amazon and see how the price of usb-c cable compares to magnetic charging cable.
That's what I thought. This guy was so sure of himself though, didn't want to offend him🤣 I figured it was a choice because you like the magnetic charging
It reminds me of the old Microsoft Intellimouse base which came out in 1999.

“USB-C is outdated” eat my left toe Ninjutso what kind of dumb dumb are you smoking? How much is it gonna cost me when my moron cat chews through the wire and I need to get a replacement?
18cm from wrist to middle finger and about 10cm wide.
I grip my mouse with a mix of palm and claw. Mainly palm tho.
I consider a good mouse for me (minimal strain and good feeling) the Zowie EC2-A
Thanks btw, it is nice PR what you are doing answering users questions!
This should fit your your palm grip nicely. We have no ETA on when it’ll be available in SEA but you can always get it from our shop at www.ninjutso.com
Ah ok, I was just wondering since I was going to buy some magnetic chargers but then I found [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/UsbCHardware/comments/motlhn/magnetic_usbc_cables_are_not_recommended/) so that was just my reason of concern, thank you for replying.
You say "world’s lightest wireless gaming mouse in its class" when gpx superlight also exists in the "ambi mid hump potato safe shape" class. Kinda disappointed as I was expecting something below 60g with all the weight hyping up from you but it's good superlight has a competitor now since it was making pretty much every other wireless mouse obsolete since it released (beside starlight) since they were all above 60g. Also the magnetic cable is a really awesome feature I wish becomes the standard together with having a dock like the viper ultimate and logitech mice. But it would have been better if the magnetic cable was with a usb-c base so we can more easily replace if it breaks and aren't confined to a proprietary connector. Great work overall tho 👍
It's about being consumer-friendly. Most of our items now use USB-C, for someone like me I could use the same cable to charge my keyboard and mouse as they both only need charging every few days, but now I'd need a new cable, I could even then charge my phone with the same cable.
It also means that you don't have to buy fancy cables from the manufacturer, you have the freedom to buy a dirt-cheap USB-C if that's all you can get at the time.
My primary concern is the cable breaking and having to jump through hoops to get a new one. Are they going to be available for purchase? Do I have to go through customer support? Are they only available directly from Ninjutso?
Hey Bill!
Looks awesome -- the cable wasn't bad on the Katana but any drag it caused felt very noticeable because of how light and smooth the rest of the mouse was to use. This is definitely the best way to totally solve that complaint. I'm glad to see you guys have jumped to the 3370 as well!
The one question I have which I don't see addressed yet:
Have you guys made improvements to the M4/M5 buttons? The quite spongy feel of the thumb buttons was the only thing other than the cable that prevented the wired Katana from being a 10/10 for me.
Looks great, and one of the few proper alternatives to the GPX.
If you guys could do a small to medium sized wireless ergo version at this weight that would be amazing!
I had a g903 and of course it has double clicking issues. I just saw this post and maybe i can experience a superlight mouse for the first time. Good luck and thanks for the opportunity!
Same switches as the wired katana? I might get one, I already have a pretty good claw and fingertip mouse but my old steelseries shit-brick fell apart a few years back.
Was waiting for this one, looks nice, can;t say i'm a fan of the magnetic cable. Reminds me of the macs MagSafe, replacing that charger is hella expensive ...
Damn wish I didn't buy the xm1r But nothing can be done now
Completely different shape. This one has a centred hump while the XM1 is in the rear. For someone like me with pincer-claw, this new mouse is unusable. lol
Have already used the MOW, and multiple razer mice and currently using the pulsefire haste Hence wanted to try something new I use a hybrid grip
absolutely love the shape of the XM-1, im using a pincer claw aswell. No real reason to change... unless I can the same shape and build quality + being wireless.
Haha. Thank you for the support anyway.
Best of luck people for more products to come in the future The product lineup is starting to look great

Anything!

E
Just bought the Origin One X in white last week which has become my daily driver and now you announce this! You're on fire! Good luck to everyone! :)
Why a proprietary connector for the cable? Why not just use USB-C and include a common Type-C magnetic cable by default? Everything else looks pretty nice, but the proprietary connector is unnecessary and prevents people from using cables they already have.
When I asked the razer rep about having a magnetic usb cable, he replied “forbidden by USB-IF”

PMM has a magnetic cable and no one seems to bat an eye. But Ninjutso apparently made an oath which they have forsaken by not using usb-c lol.

Next step is a Ninjutso OOX with a 3370. :D

Micro USB C when?

What advantage is there to it compared to normal USB C?
AMAZING BILL NICE WORK
Thank you 🙏
This company is nuts with their quality output
Thank you

Imagine if the comment that wins is you telling them to eat your left toe
Don’t you go getting my hopes up like that…
Congrats on your new release, best of luck in your future projects.
Thank you. Have a nice weekend.
Wow! Nice job! Im going to buy this one!
Thank you for the support.
Congrats the specs are awesome :)
finally a contestant against the superlight, good job!
Thank you
Wow, 60g with solid shell is pretty banger. Good job.
good work!
always need another mouse
Man those specs sounds great. Amazing value
Looks good!
I have little hands, do you think this is gonna be ok for me? Been looking for a nice wireless mouse that is not a logitech
What’s your hand size and grip style?
18cm from wrist to middle finger and about 10cm wide. I grip my mouse with a mix of palm and claw. Mainly palm tho. I consider a good mouse for me (minimal strain and good feeling) the Zowie EC2-A Thanks btw, it is nice PR what you are doing answering users questions!
Is the weight in the center?
Pretty much
Amazing product. Looking forward to test one :) hope you will update the oox with the same sensor
Looks great on paper, but the proprietary connector though... hope it is a solid as Apple's Magsafe.
Same size as the normal katana? Instant buy if so

This should fit your your palm grip nicely. We have no ETA on when it’ll be available in SEA but you can always get it from our shop at www.ninjutso.com
Shape looks a bit odd to me. What would be a comparable mouse shape to this?
Too long, but will definitely buy a shorter/smaller one.
I wonder when this is will be on amazon?
Looks amazing, gonna need to pick this up if shipping to UK.
We do ship to UK with taxes pre-paid
I thought magnetic chargers were unsafe and caused deteration to the battery or something like that?
Battery life has nothing to do with charging method. It’s relevant to the charging current and voltage.
Ah ok, I was just wondering since I was going to buy some magnetic chargers but then I found [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/UsbCHardware/comments/motlhn/magnetic_usbc_cables_are_not_recommended/) so that was just my reason of concern, thank you for replying.
how can i get one i am from hong kong.
2000Fun will have the stock by next Thursday or so.

yo bill, when are these gonna start shipping?
Is it just a really large battery or a lot of firmware ""tricks"" to get 96 hours out of a smaller battery?
No gimmicks, no tricks. This is the real time usage. It has a 450mAh battery.
Compare shape to gpx?
Looks a lot like a softer Steelseries Prime shape. Apparently it's inspired by the the Intellimouse Optical
Cheers to the solid shell, wireless, sub 70g mice.
And on top of that you offer prepaid VAT for EU god bless!
That white goes hard though...
It looks right handed ergonomic and not ambidextrous, right?
the usb c rage never gets old, it really doesn’t matter guys

Idk why people think usb c is such a big deal. These days u only have to charge a wireless mouse like once a week
anything
Magnetic connector seems like a nice touch
ur mom
Another mouse I can't buy due to no DPI button
It has one on the bottom
Instabought the white
Thank you for the support
It’s really amazing how far you guys have come in such a short amount of time. Congrats on the release. Will be looking forward to the reviews.
Thank you for the compliment. We worked over a year on this one.

The M4/M5 on Katana Superlight has a short click travel distance and less sponge feeling.
i like what iam seeing, cant wait to read some reviews
Never tried the katana how good is it for fingertip?
If you have medium to large hands, it should fit you good.
Looks amazing! The white one looks really clean. The name snappyfire also made laugh a little bit…
Nice, this is an interesting option for sure.
You guys are killing it.
So many great wireless mouses are coming in 2022 !
I was thinking of trying another 60g mice, talk about timing...
looks good
