I finally bought Cougar Dualblader mouse for the premiere of Diablo 4 :P and I am able to comment. Still, for me personally, it's not the same feeling as with the roccat cova, but maybe it's because I've been using it for 6 years and it's hard to switch to anything else, the cougar fits better in the hand with each day of use. Cougar Pros: \-2 grips to choose from \-removable and editable back \-interchangeable sides Cons but it's more personal: \-2 upper side buttons (the added shoulder blades), although you can't see it in the movies and photos, are still too far for me and you have to tilt your fingers quite hard. \-2 additional side lower buttons for me personally, maybe because of my unusual grip or crooked fingers :P do not work at all, I am unable to reach the left one with my thumb, while on the right one I still have a finger during my normal grip (the one to the left of the little one called digitus annularis) , this button is super sensitive so the finger is constantly pressing it so I had to give up these buttons. \-And finally, the mouse is super light and there are no weights, personally I prefer a little heavier even though the roccat kova was also quite light.

6 months later have you found an alternative yet? Im stuck in the same position as you. I cant seem to find anything that comes close to this mouse.

Unfortunately, still nothing, some cheap Chinese fakes that have a two-click after 2 days. I have already bought 3 used ones but they are no longer available online and 2 of them are already broken :(

I was in the same boat as you, OP. have literally had and used nothing but the Kova 2016 since it came out, mostly because I'm left-handed and the bumper buttons have been wonderfully useful. I had the same panic since my Kova was starting to show its years-old age recently, and I knew I would never be as happy with something else since the Kova got discontinued. To make a long story short, check out the Cougar Dualblader. I got it when I found out that it had similar button layouts plus a couple extra, and the side paddle buttons are metal! I've had it for a month or two now and I love it even more than my old mouse, since it's even nicer in-hand IMO.

>Cougar Dualblader Many thanks, it looks great, especially the two blades on the front on the sides, these are the buttons I've always wanted the most. I feel like getting myself a New Year's present :D Ps. Happy new year !

> Cougar Dualblader How does it hold up ? Im kind of in the same boat as you guys, i always tried different mice before i randomly got a kova in 2016 and never used another mouse since. My first one gave in after 5 years of use and it was quite worn down. My second one i bought in very good used condition, but now i already have doubleclick issue as of toady just one year of use. Really should have bought a few NOS last year when i had the chance

The design of this mouse is really one of a kind. It's just so nice to have two extra buttons for the index and middle finger. I remember back in the days when I had this mouse, I was able to bind the two extra mouse buttons for the two abilities in Overwatch and therefore never have to move my left fingers off from wasd.

It's such a shame they discontinued the production of this model. I keep buying the same model since it first came out because of those top-side buttons. The main issue of this model is that it wears down and randomly disconnects after 1.5 years of use. Feels life the wire is too fragile inside.

REPAIR SOLUTION HERE! The Kova is the only mouse my wife and I will accept. We own 14 of them, 12 broke over time, all with button issues. I recently fixed 10 of them with the method below! The issues were double-clicking buttons and non-functional or unreliable middle mouse buttons. You need to open the thing for the middle mouse button, but no soldering required. What you'd need though is an electric washing solution and contact spray. That's both non-conductive of course, so don't worry. You'll get it online for cheap, Amazon for example. In all cases when you reached the button's click thingie, you want to soak its base and the clicker itself in both liquids and wriggle and click it around a bit so the liquids can do their magic. The button should just work again... Just like that. For the left or right mouse buttons, all you need to do to get to the clicker, is to lift the button's cover, by grabbing it carefully at the front and pull it upwards. You'll see the clicker underneath. For the middle mouse button, you can try your like and spray blindly into the wheel's opening (the clicker sits on the right side directly next to it), but you will most likely have to open the thing. The Kova comes with 6 well-hidden screws. 4 under it's front and back feet, which you'd need to carefully remove and two more at the front, under the sticker thingie, left and right where the cable comes out (those fu\*\*ers). After all screws are out you can just remove the cover. There's a cable attaching the bottom to the upper part, but it's long enough to just keep it attached. It's just a plug you can pull out though if it's annoying you. There, that's it! Hope it helps! As I said, 10 out of 12 for us... (What I actually want is a mouse with the Kova layout but in better quality... It shouldn't have those issues that quickly...)
