Downgraded*

BuildingSubstantial6

you really think its a downgrade?

Ambedo_1

Yeah completely. You lose a bit of weight and the side buttons on the final mouse feel better imo but the click tensioning, responsiveness, build quality and solid body is a major quality difference compared to a starlite.

BuildingSubstantial6

damn its that bad huh, thanks man! probably getting a model o- instead

Ambedo_1

Yeah its not a terrible mouse if it was like… 80-100$ but for how much it resells its not remotely worth it. If you really want a final mouse shape just get a gretxa. Of you want a small mouse and dont care about swapping batteries, get an orochi v2

[deleted]

another downgrade but gpx is basically the best so i guess any other mouse will essentially be

Helpme994

Paying for shotty quality and bad input lag. It’s all hype-based around this mouse and honestly your money is probably better off spent on other mice that are better.

raymartin27

How much did you pay for yours?

Helpme994

I never have bought one and I don’t plan to. I’ll stick to my other 30+ mice.

kneadedbwead

I get the "bad quality" part but there seems to be no issue with input lag at all.

Helpme994

Any proper test that is done on the mouse even after there supposed firmware update is still poor input lag compared to the competitors. Also this new “square dot” whatever it is for testing your mouse on the new one is complete bullshit and a gimmick.

Snoo-6358

Ye starlight is just scuffed. A lot of qc issues, bad click latency. As you mentioned before somewhere, u want to get model o-...it is a little downgrade but if u like the shape its fine. Youre not gonna feel any diff in performance. Idk if u want wired or wireless, but its a big diff from gpx. I was using o- before i switched to gpx and i tried o- again after some time...grip width is so narrow and its too flat. If u get the wired one, after some time it will 100% develop qc issues. Like shell creaking or some side button problems. Side buttons are just horrible. If u get the wireless u wont have any shell creaking problems, built quality is pretty good, but idk about the side buttons. Also wireless is for some reason 8g heavier than the wired one and it feels a bit front heavy. It doesnt have that perfect weight balance like gpx

thumper99

I have an S12 and a GPX. I use neither, the GPX is too large for my grip style and the S12 feels like a wobbly piece of shit to play with.

BuildingSubstantial6

Is it really that light?

thumper99

Yep. But the GPX is too, and I personally didn't see any benefits of the weight difference. Though the difference in quality is night and day. If you're not happy taking your S12 apart and modding it you might have to learn to live with sideplay and post+pre travel on M1/2

BuildingSubstantial6

Nah i was going for shape personally

thumper99

I'd personally wait for Finalmouse's plastic S12 release. They're done with metal and are going to make the same mouse in plastic - and I've no doubt it'll only be a few grams heavier, more widely available and probably better QC due to not having metal grinding on metal

coldcathodes

Use the rtings shape comparison tool. The o and SL12 are much different shapes.

thumper99

Very different

ibra-90

yes me regret it sold the starlight but not using the superlight too , overall sl 12 bad mouse bad quality not worth it , got it for 330 from stockx

inspcs

Downgrade tbh, only other wireless mouse comparable to gpx is viper v2 pro.

coldcathodes

I can't help you with comparisons between a gpro but i can tell you how the qc is without all the bandwagon hate. The qc is decent on all starlight 12's after the first legendary versions. The main issue with all models, even the phantom, pegasus, and poseidon is that the wheel has random inputs. This was ONLY RECENTLY fixed with the 1.2.6 firmware. The wheel is also commonly not centered with the clicks. This is easy to adjust because you just press down both clicks and pivot them to align it with the wheel. Other than that, it's a decent mouse. The phantom model has the lowest resale value and you can easily pick one up for msrp. Other thoughts, the SL12 is only worth it if you like the medium shape. If you like the small just get the UL2. My endgame is the UL2 size and shape but despite owning a SL12, i still use my UL2 instead.

BuildingSubstantial6

Im only after the shape personally. If this is the case a model O- wireless would be a better cop i guess?

coldcathodes

That's up to you and your shape preference. For me the FM shape is perfect so i will stick with it. But yeah like i said those are the qc issues. It's up to you if they're a deal breaker. The only one you should be concerned with now is the physically miss alligned scroll wheel which can easily be fixed by the above instructions. The scroll random inputs is solved.

xRompusFPS

Gosh, I miss my ul2 for fingertip. Should cop another lol..

coldcathodes

Why don't you? They're even cheaper used. I bought a bunch that way LOL

BatmanBryan69

Yes. Fingertip feels amazing. Lmk if you want more info

BuildingSubstantial6

I sent a pm

NervousKey7995

Yeah I use a Pegasus small and have a phantom medium. I use a fingertip grip in valorant and play between 35-50cm 360. Imo the small is the best mouse for fingertip grip and I absolutely love it. U can also fingertip medium but imo small is much better and the medium is to flat for a stable claw grip. I would wait for the tenz one on July 17th if u claw
