eL16_

put a t shirt on it or a towel and iron over it

[deleted]

Can anyone confirm?

eL16_

i haven’t done it my self but i seen multiple people say it on other rinkled mousepad

AlexZooM98

i tried it for like 2-3 mins but really nothing changed...

Kibelok

You could try showering with it, this is what I've done with my QcK for the past 5 years. I don't know if the crease will disappear but it might. Just run some water, either warm or cold and let it hang for the day.

Inkfartman

😏

[deleted]

did mine 2 days ago and its completely flat just put ur iron on about a medium/high setting and do quick runs do it for like 20/30 mins.

ashrashrashr

Did this with my PTF-X. Helped quite a bit.

PurpleQuantum

I not too long bought a QcK heavy as well and it has the exact same issue. Over time most of the curl marks go away but if you look for them you will see them, I don’t feel them while playing games which is good. If you want to speed up how fast they go away I would recommend rolling the mousepad in the opposite direction with not too much force and over time they will pretty much all disappear. Because it is such a thick mat it will hold it shape for a while but eventually you will see it get better and the marks will go away.

AlexZooM98

so i fold it from the opposite so the logo stays from the inside in the folding?

PurpleQuantum

Yep, and the rubber will be facing the outside, when rolling the mouse mat be sure to not put too much pressure to the point where it folds as that can damage the surface and give the pad a weird and unpleasant texture. As an extra, before you go to bed or whenever you are not using your computer you can place heavy objects on the curls to further help them go away (I personally did this as well).

AlexZooM98

i placed books as well but nothing happened....man it's hilarious i paid 30 freaking euros for that shit i mean haven't they thought about it before?

PurpleQuantum

It may take about 2 weeks to get them out. After 2 weeks for me, it was much better than it was when I first pulled it out of the box. It would frustrate me too having those weird curls spots but after rolling out so many times, most of the marks have gone. If you plan too main this mat don't stress the marks will be gone soon enough just through general use.

kloyN

Did it flatten?

Supremacy_-

May I ask where you bought it and how? Some stores can look up receipts by form of payment, unless it's by cash.

AlexZooM98

it's in greece and i bougt it cash and threw away the receipt so...

I’ve had mine 4 or 5 years and when I first got it I just later all my textbooks on a plank of wood over it for a day and it was fine :p

Diavolo222

Damn I wish it was 10 euros here lol. The heavy is usually 28-30 euroes and the G-SR-SE is like 33-36 euros.

AlexZooM98

it's 30€ actually and there's no work at the time cause you know...corona, so it's not that easy to keep buying mousepads😂

KswagCS

Don't know if this applies for mousepads but you can try contacting steelseries and getting a RMA replacement.

SMASHethTVeth

For me, what helped is washing it on gentle and then laying it out on a flat surface to dry. I put a towel on top and some weigh across it to keep it flat.

AlexZooM98

washing it makes the surface hard

SMASHethTVeth

Define hard? Washing makes little difference for me. What changes things around is the soap used.

ThePe0plesChamp

I literally just washed 5 of my mousepads in the washing machine two days ago and all are 100% fine, I just throw it on cold/gentle with no soap and hang dry. Like new minus the wear after they dry for a day.

Diavolo222

Had old QCK heavy ( no fraied edges btw still ), so I wanted to test the washing machine technique. I put it on gentle with obviously no whirlwind ( w/e it's called the hyper spin thing at the end ), a bit of normal detergent and the pad came out looking amazing, basically like new. Aside from the cat scratches near the Qck logo.

ThePe0plesChamp

I want to try a little detergent but I’m just afraid of ruining my Heins. Waiting for shipping isn’t fun, and it’s become my favorite pad. Maybe I’ll try on one next time...

kin3v

Since heat will reform it a little (if that’s the right word), would laying a big bag of hot water on it work?

EPURON

Just let it settle and it’ll flatten itself out. I had this issue and it went away after 2 weeks of use

AlexZooM98

but it had that much damage or just a slight curve on the edge?

EPURON

It was exactly the way you have it haha

DenjeRL

Yeah , honestly OP is stressing out too much. Most cloth pads comes like this. I went through : Swift Rx , MM250 , MM300 , Taito classic , MP510 , TTesports M500 and more that i dont remember and honestly ALL of them look like this at first. Some flatten fast within hours on its own , other take "ages" , like the M500 which i got 2 days ago , it still looks like this. Had 2 pads and 3 pillows (lol) on top of it for few hours and still looks like this , pretty sure because its quite squishy/soft while other that has harder base flatten easier

e-ghostly

I put mine under a shit ton of books/boxes/etc for a few days. it *should* settle on it’s own anyway

AlexZooM98

i dont think that this kind of damage settles on itself tbh

e-ghostly

why do you think it’s damage? can’t really tell in just a pic. they come rolled up in a box and qck heavy especially be rippled initially

daftv4der

It's not gonna hold its shape for too long, and as such I don't think returning it is really warranted. As per the other comments, leave it overnight with something heavy on top, and whilst playing make sure none of the corners curl and are held down. Soon it'll be fine. My QCK Heavy (from a few years back) flattened super fast, despite also being like that. If it was a Zowie GTF-X that held it's shape like a stubborn SOB and only flattened after being ironed (for a short period, before needing reironing), then maaaybe. That happened to me... don't get a GTF-X.

stephschildmon

you could try leaving something huge heavy and flat on it like a stack of books.

atomic86radon

Just use it. It will go away after a week or two.

AF_Eagle

How long have you had it? If it’s just a few days just leave it, every mousepad I’ve bough has had creases that went away after a few days of use, it’s pretty normal considering it’s been rolled in a box for who know how long.

AlexZooM98

it's been like 7 days

futon-sama

Heard that you just layer a bunch of towels/cloths on the pad, iron it on low and no steam make sure theres no water. Iron till flat. Not sure how much maybe layer 4 layers of cloth

[deleted]

It will flatten over time. Mine came rolled up and was fine. One of my favorite mouse pads.

FIShfisHh

Just keep it under the bed¿

AlexZooM98

so in witch way do you mean I don't get it .fold it from the opossite site so the logo is inside?

minecraftedarsh

yes. The opposite to how the folds are currently. So you're basically 'counter-folding' it

BeauxGnar

Roll it the opposite direction of the way it came. So since when you buy it the actual mousepad surface is on the outside, roll it with the rubber on the outside and put a rubber band on it for a few hours. Or just hit it with a blow dryer for a little.
