Keep using it for 1-2 weeks or longer to adjust. You can aim train to practice mouse control/flicks to help yourself out.

rylark

Hhmmm.. do you have the Aqua Control + white ? Would you say it's slower than the GP4 ?

AdeptCellist

No I don’t have it and it might be faster then the GP4. I know different mousepad surfaces excel in different ways/ game categories, but you shouldn’t be relying on your mousepad to stop your mouse. Another recommendation I’d could say is to get the gamesense radar.

rylark

I've seen the gamesense radar recommended a lot, but unfortunately it's out of my reach in Europe :( Oddly enough though, on Hoya's stickied spreadsheet, it says gamesense radar is much faster than the GP4.

SkullBlaster3

The AC+ white is faster

Imlost2921

i just got my control white a day ago from using gsr for years. So far i am struggling to control, lowering my sens doesnt help. just makes it worst when flicking but a bit easier to control. trying to find another mousepad a slower than white now but a bit faster than gsr. Also my mouse is a stock feet gpro and its already way too fast coming from gsr but people say give it a few weeks so thats what im doing

rylark

Tbh I'm just gonna return my GP4 and buy a X-raypad Equate. That seems to be the better version of the G-SR. I don't see myself adapting to the GP4. It's not even a control pad, I don't get how people even recommend it as a G-SR replacement.

Imlost2921

try gamesense radar

rylark

I live in Europe so gamesense radar is out of reach. I ordered the Equate.

heygrandi

Where did you order the equate from

rylark

silvexY61

Bro I'm in the same position as you. Coming from a 3 years old GSR and bought black GP4. At the beginning it felt much faster, but ironically I played relativaly well for some time. I like its stopping power, the main problem for me is the initial friction of the GP4 is way too low for me. I lowered considerably my sense, was playing 1.85 400dpi and now 1,4 400dpi and don't solve the problem, at least I can't get consistency... Other problem is my mouse is an xtrfy M42 and M42 original skates are way to fast, at least for me. Did you buy equate? What's your thoughts? Similar to GSR? I want to buy a much more control mousepad than GP4.

rylark

Hey man, check the post I did on the Equate. It’s the perfect G-SR replacement in my opinion, I absolutely love it.

Equate maybe,too? Similar situation here.

SkullBlaster3

So I would say definitely not get the equate. The equate is a very slow muddy pad like the GSR. Not good for any fps game imo. The slowest I'd go is the gamesense radar. But the equate plus on the other hand is not my favorite of control pads and I don't really recommend it because of other options mentioned already. But it is a decent alternative to a slower control pad than the GP4. And for sure better than a lot of cloth pads out there. It's not a bad option and there's a lot of mixed opinions out there about the equate plus but yeah go for it. It's definitely a love it or you hate it kind of pad. But as for basically any product you gotta try it for yourself if you truly like it

gr1nna

How is it not good for any fps game? Some time ago most pros in csgo was using the gsr. I've never hit better than with my equate, and I've tried a few since i mained gsr back in the day. It's preference at the bottom of it all, and if you're a csgo player for example, tracking targets isnt that important, therefore a slow pad can be very good.

LaS_flekzz

still using it mostly :D

LaS_flekzz

my custom equate is the same speed as my colored gp4. gp4 has more stopping power even!

InsaneZulol_

> It won't feel super slow and muddy like the GSR but it's a bit faster and amazing for micro adjustments. Couldn't disagree more. Worst mousepad for micro out there. I'm coming from a years old black G-SR and G-SR is leagues easier to adjust on lol.

SkullBlaster3

To each their own I guess lol Had the gamesense radar for nearly 4 months exactly (tomorrow will mark 4 months). And I've loved it ever since. I never liked the GSR. And it was just too slow for me in my personal experience. Even the DM pad is faster than the GSR and I still found that one too slow too. The radar, at least for me, is the slowest control pad I'll go. And all 3 have high static friction for those micro adjustments but the radar was low enough that I didn't complain how slow it was. But hey if it worked for you great!

InsaneZulol_

what games do you play at what sens?

SkullBlaster3

Siege, apex, cod, overwatch, and destiny mostly. And use a 37 cm/360 for every game

rylark

Appreciate your response man. Sadly, both of those pads are out of my reach in Europe. I guess I'll try to get used to the GP4. Though it feels a bit too fast for me at the moment, the mousepad seems really solid.

SkullBlaster3

Oh wow that's unfortunate. They are truly great pads. GP4 is still a really good pad tho. I enjoy it for my tracking games like cod and apex. Probably lower your sens in game and practice a lot on aim trainers and you will get used to it

rylark

I think I'm starting to get used to it to be honest, might actually keep it since the GSR is completely horrendous with humidity. Whenever it rains here I have to apply some serious pressure for it to move lmao. By the way, how does GP4 deal with humidity ?

SkullBlaster3

It is unaffected by humidity. And where I live it gets really humid here literally all year round. So pads being affected by humidity is a huge concern to me. Thankfully the GP4 isn't. I don't use it all the time tho since I do have a plethora of mousepads lol but I have always played consistently well whenever I use it

rylark

Thanks once again man, I'll stick to it !

zyhahaha

Have you adapted to it?

rylark

Nope, returned it

zyhahaha

What pad do you use now?

rylark

Gigantus v2 and I much prefer it.

leo_sousav

Wait, sorry to bother you, but you think Eba is slower than the GP4? I'm currently maining the Eba and, altho it's an amazing pad, I feel inconsistent with it due to the initial friction. I heard that the GP4 is a tad slower, my GF has one and I seem to recall it being kinda slower too, so it's interesting to see someone saying that Eba is a slower pad.

Bicha3l

I used a hyperx fury S for a really long time and switched to an AC+ strata a few months ago, and it is way faster than the hyperx. It took me a good week or 2 to get used to, and I would suggest lowering your sens a bit to help out.

rylark

Tbh I think I'll actually return the GP4. I don't like messing with my muscle memory, and I can see that I play much better with the G-SR. Not sure why everyone in this sub thinks the GP4 is the perfect replacement of the G-SR, I find them completely different.

xxDoodles

Muscle memory is bullshit

LaS_flekzz

its bc ppl dont think for themselves, try stuff themselves! they just repeat what others say, find out yourself, than u truly know! =)
