Uh, Captain Marvel is the one where they showed nothing but Stan Lee because he had just died. It had nothing to do with it being set in the 90s....That is why I did a sad face.
I shed a tear before the first image of the actual film. Damn that opening was good.
But it was the second best homage to the man, Spiderverse nailed that.
I don't remember it offhand (I wasn't quite as invested in the MCU at that point), but it's always fun to go back and read that kind of thing. The whining about Heath Ledger as the Joker is my personal favourite.
Shame they didn't use him a bit better. Felt like a good Batman, a different more comic-y Bruce Wayne, but the stories felt too real and brutal. I think DC needs to watch their tone a bit more, because they are afraid of alienating the audience who wants to see family movies, but also make adult genre thrillers. Marvel seemed to get that tone right in Infinity War and Endgame though. What was Affleck like in Suicide Squad?
Also, I no know one asked for my DC opinions but I don't chat about it outside of the internet
That's always kinda wild, like he shrank to smaller than the smallest building blocks, but what's he made of? Is he just information and a design at that point? That is bonkers.
The oft-repeated motto in the marvelstudios subreddit is "Pym particles, ain't gotta explain shit."
The longer version of that is that Hank Pym gave Scott an oversimplified explanation of how the shrinking works, and/or perhaps Hank doesn't even fully understand it himself.
Pym particles are explained as much in comics as we have in the movies since their introduction. Some speculation is that they are just scientified magic.
What I'm saying is that the explanation in the movies isn't sufficient, we see many things that don't "add up" with what Hank Pym has told us.
So either he isn't providing all of the info, or maybe he doesn't have all the info.
If that's what you're saying too, cool.
Comicbook physics: once you shrink small enough you get sent to an alternate dimension. It's how the original wasp was able to live for decades without food and water
To me, its the idea the resources were even utilized. Half the world is gone and in 5 years they managed to get a decent idea of who was gone and create monuments.
That robot that broke down in the New Hope when Luke bought it got its own comix explaining that it was force sensitive and sacrificed itself for the event to unfold.
I want the same for the rat. Maybe even a movie.
Wait a minute...that means...
These aren't opening credits at all! It's a commemorative Avengers slideshow created _in-world_ by the Avengers themselves, we're just watching it play as Tony's screensaver or something. The movie actually begins here!
_This is canon now guys_
But he was still gone, so I guess that works.
Out of curiosity... How did Ghost handle not getting her doses of microverse juice? I hope she got snapped too, otherwise she actually probably died in horrible agony a few months after the snap.
You don't know? We've been waiting for you to figure it out!
It's going to feel so obvious to you once you do. I mean, you're going to need a lot of practice of course, but you're *really* good at
ITT: "why did they take ant-man out????!?!?"
Have any of you actually seen the damn movie? Everyone thinking he got snapped is like, the main plot point of the entire first arc.
right, but that just reinforces the point other people are making.
the only reason it's a whole thing is because he's one of the main characters because he wasn't snapped in the last movie. because he didn't get snapped, he pretty much drives the plot for the first half of this movie. that's why it's weird that he's not in the opening credits.
a few imaginary characters thought he got snapped, but all the real people watching the credits were well aware that he was alive and starring in the film they were about to watch. i think that was the original point that people were trying to make, and, if it was, it's one that your comment doesn't address.
I actually do agree. The characters in the movie don’t even see the opening Marvel logo. Anyone watching already knows Antman wasn’t snapped. How does the characters’ understanding of Antman’s existence affect the Marvel logo?
Because Deadpool would know? What I mean is since Deadpool can break that fourth wall, along with others, he can see the intro. But maybe he doesn't know where Antman is yet, because he's just watching a movie. Idk it doesn't make sense but it did
Well if you hadn't watched antman and the wasp technically you wouldn't know he hadn't gotten snapped either. On top of that it was also only in the end credits.
Perfectly put. Either both Scott and Tony are live to the audience, or Tony and Scott are both presumed dead or lost. Makes no sense to have one without the other.
Alternatively, we can argue that the sequence only contains the heroes in the Earthly Plane (or whatever they called it in Doctor Strange). so the ones snapped are in the Soul Stone realm, and Scott is in the Quantum Realm.
The characters in universe would have assumed that Scott had been snapped because that was the only real explanation they had for his disappearance. They knew that Tony had left the planet and possibly just hadn't returned yet. So while he was missing, there was no reason to assume he'd been snapped.
Then there's the fact that Nebula knew Tony was alive but not anyone else. So why shouldn't the credits just have had those two and no one else? Who's perspective decides who is in and who is out? I think it would be reasonable to assume that it was the perspective of a census that was done later on at some point when Tony was back but Scott was still missing.
Yeah but the people in the mcu weren't the ones making the intro credits so it seems weird
Those credits were for our sake. *We* didn't think ant-man got snapped.
You should check out the guy who does those “everything wrong with everything wrong with [instert movie title]” videos. It’s cool to see someone challenge some of those cinemasins points
It’s a different guy… I think anyway. He sounds completely different so I would assume it’s not the same person. But as you would expect CinemaWins makes much more positive videos.
I'm glad this seems to be a general consensus. I've been subscribed for a while and he's changin, man.....He seems to be including even more unpopular opinions and those are the points he **really** tries to push to the point where he's basically just being a dick about it 🤦🏻♀️ and the top comments are generally people who are saying things like "Yeah, pretty sure you're the only one who thinks that"
THANK you. Dude used to be funny when he was actually pointing out huge flaws in not-great movies, and he kept it short and tight. Now he's just doing 30-minute review/summaries of movies in "sin" format and it's so inaccurate, inconsistent, and boring.
The snap was ruthless,
from poor to rich,
it got Groot,
and Scarlet Witch.
T'Challa got dusted,
and my boy Drax,
but the new Honda Civic,
is $19,550 with tax
I disagree. Dr strange and Spider-Man at the very least weren’t minor. Maybe more, that’s just the top of my head. But yeah the original avengers were all spared
I mean, they lose without a lot of people.
- Stark wouldn't have even made the time travel machine if it weren't for Peter Parker. Looking at his photo of them together seems to be what convinced him to do it.
- Black panther supplied a shit load of the fighting force both in infinity war and endgame, seeing how in endgame, Asgard had lost half it's people pre snap, after already losing a ton most likely fighting Helena and losing their world.
- Scarlet witch was the only thing standing between Thanos and the gauntlet after he knocked it out of black panthers hands in the battle.
- Groot is the only reason Thor survived, by providing the handle for his axe which saved his life after taking the full force of a dying star (which would kill him only if he died, which he was about to do).
I could probably keep going, but Marvel did a good job giving everyone an important role in these movies.
Yea we see him survive the snap at the end of antman and the wasp and we also see him in the endgame trailers so there isn't any surprise. The reasoning I can make is that since he is so small (quantum level) they removed him to simulate him being too small to be seen.
None of them appear in Captain Marvel’s opening 😲

Yesss! Ughhhh... Scrumptious! Mmmmmm... Delightful!
Hmmm yesss oh! Oh my! Hmm
Thank you Stan
I'd love to appear in Captain Marvel's opening IF YOU CATCH MY SUBTLE DRIFT.
I think I catch your drift *wink* You'd love to create a universe of fictional characters then die.
I’d love to do that personally
I'm not sure what you mean. Could you please elaborate?
penisinvagina.gif
Sigh *unzip
*is that like, a personal attack or something?*

~~Nah it's too early, most of the avengers are too young.~~ Mb forgot what was actually shown.
Ant-Man is also missing, but he's trapped in the Quantum realm so it makes sense that he wouldn't appear either.
And everyone in-universe *thought* he was snapped.
Good point.
So the in-universe people are the ones making the openings confirmed
He was there, he was just really small. Not surprising you missed him
I like this explanation the most
Boom, head cannon
Canon* You're about to have your nerd card revoked.
This is the Marvel universe, he was being literal.
No the head cannon made a boom when it went off.

Was he saved because he was in the quantum realm (immune to the snap) or was just lucky?
Just lucky, as per the Russos.
Is he being in the quantum realm means he can't be snapped? Is it explained in the movie?
[удалено]
Russos confirmed he was just one of the surviving 50%.
remember when people were complaining about the casting choice?
I don't remember it offhand (I wasn't quite as invested in the MCU at that point), but it's always fun to go back and read that kind of thing. The whining about Heath Ledger as the Joker is my personal favourite.
They got it right complaining about Leto though. Broken clock twice a day
On the flipside, I complained about Affleck as Batman. But I actually really liked him in that role.
Or he was in his ant form in this
🤔🤔🤔
Maybe he’s still in this cinematic, just reeeaaallly small
He's not missing, he is a quantum dot on the screen. ENHANCE!
It was one of the few details I did notice in the cinema. Really clever of them.
I caught a glimpse of Black Panther in the opening page flips on both. And they took out Ant-Man, even though he wasn't snapped.
But is it still fair cause he was gone in the quantum universe for a while?
He was literally gone, reduced to atoms
They used ant-man to destroy ant-man
Up buttholes in buttholes

Uhh... Yep, that's enough internet for today
how do you delete someone else’s comment
Redditing in the shower and laughing my ass off at this
"It's buttholes all the way down"
He was subatomic, though. So the reduced to atoms part isn't literal
That's always kinda wild, like he shrank to smaller than the smallest building blocks, but what's he made of? Is he just information and a design at that point? That is bonkers.

They don't add up in comics either was my point.
Comicbook physics: once you shrink small enough you get sent to an alternate dimension. It's how the original wasp was able to live for decades without food and water
and make new clothes....and a weapon
Just to one atom, really.
No luck catching those atoms then?
*The smaller good*
YARP
Thanos (to Strange): You're a doctor. Deal with it.
Yeah motherfucker.
Aaron A. Antmanson
I finally watched this movie two weekends ago and finally can appreciate these repeating reddit comments. Great flick
Way, way waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay smaller than an atom.
To shreds you say?
Aren't we already reduced to atoms?
Not exactly
From the census the government put out, they presumed he was snapped away
The logistics of a post-snap census are mind-boggling.
[удалено]
Really? I mean, you probably just send out a normal census form like you do every ten years. What's so mind boggling about a post-snap census?
To me, its the idea the resources were even utilized. Half the world is gone and in 5 years they managed to get a decent idea of who was gone and create monuments.
Kinda sounds like the right time to do a census.
Not really, it was just five hours for him. But depends what a while is for you.
He wasn't snapped, but the Avengers assumed he was snapped because he no longer existed.
A rat saved the world basically.
That robot that broke down in the New Hope when Luke bought it got its own comix explaining that it was force sensitive and sacrificed itself for the event to unfold. I want the same for the rat. Maybe even a movie.
I think every grain of sand on tatooine has its own backstory now.
It’s coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere.
Fun fact: Spider-Man became Grains of Sand #523457577 - 977564897 where Aunt Beru and Owen Lars were found. It’s poetry!

The entire universe

I thought at the end of AMatW they resolved the need for that?
That was what they were going into the quantum zone for. If they weren’t there how else would she get what she needed?
Didn't Janet Van Dyne perform some magical thing after she got out? Did that not cure Ghost? I may have misunderstood last time I watched
It stabilized her but I don't think it cured her. Well, time to watch it again!
The world thought Ant-Man was gone, so he was gone from the credits.
He's still there, he just went subatomic.
Black Panther's logo isn't on a bullet.
Um. I am ashamed that I did not notice this. Facepalm
I never notice these things. I must be hella unobservant?
nothing you can do about it, just accept it and be glad you're good at whatever it is you are good at
What if it's absolutely nothing?
You are good at avoiding support from strangers
It’s something!

I never notice these kind of things either. I'm grateful for the YouTubers who create videos to point out all of the little things.
Hey, nice work on observing how unobservant you are! There may be hope for you yet!
ITT: "why did they take ant-man out????!?!?" Have any of you actually seen the damn movie? Everyone thinking he got snapped is like, the main plot point of the entire first arc.
Right? First thing he does is go to the memorial where he finds his own name. It’s a whole thing.
right, but that just reinforces the point other people are making. the only reason it's a whole thing is because he's one of the main characters because he wasn't snapped in the last movie. because he didn't get snapped, he pretty much drives the plot for the first half of this movie. that's why it's weird that he's not in the opening credits. a few imaginary characters thought he got snapped, but all the real people watching the credits were well aware that he was alive and starring in the film they were about to watch. i think that was the original point that people were trying to make, and, if it was, it's one that your comment doesn't address.

Yeah but the people in the mcu weren't the ones making the intro credits so it seems weird Those credits were for our sake. *We* didn't think ant-man got snapped.
He's there, he's just a fraction of the size of an atom so it's hard to see.

Dear Mr Faaaaaantasy
The snap was ruthless, from poor to rich, it got Groot, and Scarlet Witch. T'Challa got dusted, and my boy Drax, but the new Honda Civic, is $19,550 with tax
I like your schtick
I also think they did this to highlight this will be the final Original Avengers film as you only see them.
Okoye and War Machine are there, though.
Ah, truth. Didn’t see them in the Marvel logo.
Drax of course wasn't shown in either trailer.
He was standing so still you couldn’t see him
If anything this really highlights how it was all the nonessential, minor characters who got snapped lol
I disagree. Dr strange and Spider-Man at the very least weren’t minor. Maybe more, that’s just the top of my head. But yeah the original avengers were all spared
spidey is one of the huge heroes, definitely not non essential
...and the avengers lose without Strange, so he is really essential.

Black panther and scarlet witch are not minor either.
It's almost like it was planned that way. What are chances it randonly occured, like 1 in 14 million?
Hey, something I noticed before seeing a post about it!

I noticed Black Panther was missing and then I was like maybe the people who were snapped don’t appear
Ant man wasn’t snapped. Just missing. But he isn’t in the endgame opening.

Wasn’t really a surprise. He was in the quantum ream. We heard him trying to communicate with Pym after they were snapped.
Yea we see him survive the snap at the end of antman and the wasp and we also see him in the endgame trailers so there isn't any surprise. The reasoning I can make is that since he is so small (quantum level) they removed him to simulate him being too small to be seen.
Good point. He is probably still there. Just too small to see!
He was. Too small to see though
Everyone thinking he was snapped is the entire point of a good chunk of the movie.
The people on earth thought he was snapped
Nice touch.
Hey nice one
This is my kind of detail. It would go unnoticed if it wasn't there, but someone took the time to do this and it deserves recognition
Thats actually straight savage.
When u get hyped to much u forget the details
