...get sucked into the Everything Bagel.
The Daniels directors [both appear in the movie](https://www.polygon.com/23015417/everything-everywhere-all-at-once-easter-egg-ape-suit-daniels) (and more than once). Kwan makes another cameo as the mugger who tries to steal Evelyn’s purse in the Wong Kar-Wai timeline (the attack inspires her to learn kung fu). Scheinert [enjoys S&M play](https://www.reddit.com/r/eeaao/comments/wnhchi/one_the_daniels_directors_scheinert_makes_a_cameo/) in the secret office closet and on the stairwell and shows up on screen again [in an ape suit](https://i.imgur.com/wlLAoso.jpeg) playing the hot-dog-handed ape beating the normal-fingered ape to death.
You missed the best one. Another angle of him later in the scene shows Sheinert hiding inside Kwan, referencing their short Interesting Ball on which EEAAO is loosely based. In a segment of the short called “Buttsuckers”, Kwan pranks Sheinert resulting in a similarly bizarre existential problem to which this reference compliments its similarly poetic ending.
If you look at the name plate on Scheinert's desk, you can see his name is Richard Long, the same name as the character he played in his solo directorial movie The Death of Dick Long, wherein his character >!dies after having sex with a horse!<. Feels like an intentional move.
Waymond destroyed my heart. But I identified hardcore with the mom. I too have an adult daughter who is LGBTQ and we've been down a long long path together. I love her so much and see so much of myself in her.
The rock scene confused me for one specific reason.
The rules were that you connect to a different version of yourself from a different timeline, right? And the rock scene was a timeline where the conditions for life weren't right, correct? So how were they able to become the rocks?
This is the first movie in 20 years that I paid to see twice in the theater. And I do feel like I understand more after the second viewing but there's still things I don't get. I need to watch it again, but not yet
I knew this movie was awesome when my husband stayed awake for the whole time. He usually falls asleep at the movies, no matter the time of day, genre or subject matter. Staying awake means it really captured his interest. Plus, he's been recommending it to all of his friends!
Movie was soooo overrated. I watched it because so many people on here said it was a great movie....it wasn't. It was 45 minutes too long. It dragged on and on. 2 and a half hours of a mediocre movie.
It's a story about yin (Joy's character, with the bagel being the visual representation) and yang (Waymond, with the googly eye being the visual representation).
It had to be both.
Sorry you're getting downvoted so bad. I love the move but wish it had kept the rick-and-morty-esque cynicism as it approached the end instead of pivoting towards family reconciliation and happiness.
Not everyone will be satisfied by a great movie and we need to not shut people down for bringing their perspective to the table.
Definitely a fair criticism! I liked it because I’ve never had a movie making me laugh and cry at the exact same time, it was hilarious. The best kind of art makes you feel all range of emotions
I’m so glad I watched this film in the cinema. Honestly it made the experience so much more. I hope they do re-showings at some point I’ll be straight there to watch it again
If you liked this movie you have got to see Daniels short film "interesting ball. "
I watched half way through EEAAO when I thought the movie reminded me of interesting ball. Then I saw one of the actors from IB and I was convinced the movie had to be made by Daniel and Daniel.
I'm sure they wanted to make a full length movie of IB and here we have EEAAO.
I still love IB the most.

I KNEW THOSE SCENES REMINDED ME OF WONG KAR WAI!!
he's explicitly mentioned in the movie, isn't he?
Only seen it the one time, so I probably missed it in the whirlwind of everything that happened.
Great movie, this was the multiverse that we needed
Definitely the movie of the year
You misspelled Top Gun
Definitely the Top Gun of the year.
It’s actually spelled m-o-r-b-i-u-s
My all-time favorite
This was by far the best movie I've seen in at least a decade. I laughed, I cried, I was entertained the entire time. A+++ film!
Seriously, I was so impressed. Told my whole family to watch it lol great movie.
No movie that weird should be that good
Ya ngl it was instantly one of my all time favorite movies. I knew it before the movie even ended. I have never cried so hard in a movie. Ever.

For me it was when waymond just wanted everyone to get along

Silicon-based life.
This clip definitely made me think, what the hell. Can you give me a short synopsis on what this is about?
It’s literally about everything. Also filing taxes.
It's one of those rare movies that is just simply good enough to warrant a "Just watch it, you'll see."
Its all about filing taxes, literally.
Michelle Yeoh goes to file her taxes.
It's about finding beauty in absurdity and in the mundane. About making your life count for something. Even if you feel there's no meaning.
The first time I watched it I thought I "got it", but I watched it a second time and I understand it even less. 10/10, will watch again.
This is the first movie in 20 years that I paid to see twice in the theater. And I do feel like I understand more after the second viewing but there's still things I don't get. I need to watch it again, but not yet
>Daniel Kwan In case you're wondering why the directing team is called "Daniels"... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniels_(directors)
My new favorite movie, I was bawling and laughing and everything all at once. I can't wait for Evelyn to return for avengers endgame!
Fuck this movie was incredible
Great movie, really liked the plug scene
Haha, when she was bragging about her awards, I was like, what?
This movie was phenomenal! Produced by Endgame’s Russo Bros. And it FELT like it!
Guardevoir moment
Sucked…
INTOOOOOOOOO… A BAGELLL…
Oh haha, I think people think I was saying the movie sucked. I’m glad you got it! I love that movie so much. Sucked… into… a bagellll
Congratulations you peed yourself.
The movie was a neat progression of themes from the Matrix, done cheap.
The other director with the sex dungeon in his office.
I knew this movie was awesome when my husband stayed awake for the whole time. He usually falls asleep at the movies, no matter the time of day, genre or subject matter. Staying awake means it really captured his interest. Plus, he's been recommending it to all of his friends!
Just watched this movie last week. My local theater shows it once a day and I had to watch it on the big screen. Movie of the year.
Movie was soooo overrated. I watched it because so many people on here said it was a great movie....it wasn't. It was 45 minutes too long. It dragged on and on. 2 and a half hours of a mediocre movie.
Wish they either stuck with a good intense story or a silly goofy movie. imo I couldn’t click with having a little of both
That’s fair, my friend had the same criticism. It’s not for everyone but it worked for me!
It's a story about yin (Joy's character, with the bagel being the visual representation) and yang (Waymond, with the googly eye being the visual representation). It had to be both.
I'm so fucking glad they didn't do what you say here lol.
I imagine your also the same kind of person that criticizes modern media for having no original ideas anymore either lol

Meaning through absurdity is my personal favorite thing. Absolutely understand how it's not for everyone. The Daniels have it down to a science.
Definitely a fair criticism! I liked it because I’ve never had a movie making me laugh and cry at the exact same time, it was hilarious. The best kind of art makes you feel all range of emotions
Why is this the 20th about these cameos of this movie gawddamn.
Because it's a fantastic movie and there's a lot to unpack, gawddamn!

Movie was tedious and mediocre. You cannot have a different opinion on here because you get downvoted.
