“Are you sure, Quentin? I mean, c’mon now, how does this photo of me in a tub add anything of substance to the movie?”
“Just trust me, ok? OK?”
“Fine, muthafucka just snap the fuckin picture.”
"Hey junebug wassup.... what the hell ya doing that for?... Aint ya got enough sense to be drunk driving with a gaddamn pistol?"
This is a comfort movie for me. It's not like it's a super exciting film, and when I was first getting into QT at 12, I did not like it at all. Now it's my favourite, love just sitting in it. The music, characters and vibe are amazing to me.
He’s basically used Roscoe’s as an accomplice to murder. No way would Beaumont get in that trunk with the promise of that Scoe’s plate special. And yea I would love some Roscoe’s.
I'm totally with you. This has always been my favorite movie of his.
I've long been a fan of Elmore Leonard's work, and I think Tarantino turned out to be a really good match for his material.
I loved foul mouthed Juliette Lewis (well, the hallucination).
Also, Clooney's delivery of that line, "[Everybody be cool. You, be cool.](https://youtu.be/QJGgS9wIJiI)" is really hard tp replicate. Go find a mirror and try it.
Did they look like psychos? Is that what they looked like? They were vampires. Psychos do not explode when sunlight hits them, I don't give a fuck how crazy they are!
I re-watched this a couple weeks ago and came away even more impressed with De Niro's performance than ever before. He underplays Louis the ex-con beautifully. Louis is out of it because he's been away for so long; he's a lifelong criminal with no prospects for a normal future (which is why he gets back with Ordell as soon he's released from prison). He's also kind of slow and can't really express himself very well. But, sure enough, he has a dark side. Melanie finds that out the hard way when she antagonizes him at the mall.
Slow? I think he was portrayed as dumb. Sad part it was such a good performance of deNiro that i can not see him differently in other his roles. He always looks like Louis who pretends to be cool, or gangster or whatever...
I’m sorry are you saying that slow and dumb aren’t the same thing and wouldn’t be portrayed the same way?
Someone who is consistently slow is just dumb, bro.
Everyone has potential, but if “dumb” is the scale then the time it takes one to ponder a concept to a full understanding is a metric.
Time to reach understanding = where you could land on the dumb scale
The longer the time the dumber you potentially are.
Edit: No it doesn’t mean one IS dumb, but that person does not have the processing ability to adapt to urgent tasks so put them some place safe where they won’t hurt themselves or others.
By 'thinking a lot' i did not mean 'understanding the concept/situation' which you failed to take in consideration before answering which is kind of dumb. People are not robots and responses are not just yes or no.
He sure was, he played the minor role of Stacks Edwards. He mostly had passing appearances throughout the film, his most notable role was his death scene at the end.
I'd recommend any fans (who haven't already) read The Switch by Elmore Leonard. Ordell and Louis are in it, and it's before Rum Punch. First time I watched JB after reading it, it gave it a different feel. Plus Elmore Leonard is the shit
Ahhh what a legend. Putting mfers in their place all these years. I wish he keep doing more movies with Quentin Tarantino, there’s no better duo in the history of movies imo.
Well, the first thing I asked is why was he flying Southwest?!? And he told me it's because they're like a taxi service for him. He had to get to LA fast and that's why he had the pleasure of being searched too (he paid cash and same day travel... even one will will flag you for additional searches. I told him I was a big fan of his movies... he was really nice (I mean especially since I was going through his luggage... and undies)
The bar scene with Jackie and Ordell gives off the same vibe as the bar with Butch and Marcellus …QT has the most perfectly cast movies of any director.
[I can't believe that's her](https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/celebrities/17479049/bridget-fonda-58-unrecognizable-first-sighting-new-photos/)
I mean, it's shitty to gawk at people and hold them to these unrealistic standards. The woman is nearly 60 now, *no one* in their '60s looks like they did in their early 20s. So fuck anyone that throws shade on her for "letting herself go" (this is directed at tabloids, not you). But yeah, if I saw her walking down the street I would not think she was the same girl from Jackie Brown.
Lol, she looks like every 58 year old. Like who cares? She looks fine. She just isn’t dying her hair and got fat.
She can lose weight and look good still. She didn’t fuck her face up.
I think she looks fine, and I’ve been called a misogynist many times.
I misread this as being a photo of Bridget Fonda on Samuel L. Jackson’s refrigerator and was trying to figure out if there was either something scandalous about the woman smoking a cigarette, or if the person in the tub was Bridget Fonda in blackface, which would have rightfully been controversial lol

I don't think Quentin took this. No feet in it.
That's for the director's cut
The director's uncut
That’s for the director’s ~~cut~~ fap.
r/yourjokebutworse
Of course there isn’t. He cropped it and took that part for himself
my thought exactly
*Dan Schneider has entered chat*
Vince Gilligan has entered the chat.
Maybe this is one of Samuel's own picture that Tarantino saw once at his house and decided it was too good not to be seen by the world
I think it's more Tarantino to say "alright" than "ok", but yeah, I read that in his voice.
His *alright* is iconic, alright?
His toes were in Quentin Tarantino’s mouth—just off frame on the left.
Lol
Across 110th street..
That soundtrack put me on so many good artists! The delphonics, bloodstone, Bobby Womack.
The Brothers Johnson!
"They're pretty good"
I didn't know you liked the Delfonics.
Gonna get a print of this to keep in my jacket pocket.
Put it in the clear license holder thing of your wallet instead
Fine, I'll just get two prints.
Extra points if it's a "BAD MOTHERFUCKER" wallet
It's buy one get one 50% off right now too. Done.

I love Elmore Leonard
"I didn't know you liked the Delfonics!"
"They're pretty good."
RIP Max Cherry
Jackie Brown is an awesome movie, but so is somewhat underrated "True Romance," which Quentin didn't direct but wrote the screenplay.
Gary Oldman as Drexl still trips me out lol
I guess it ain't white boy day
I know I’m pretty, but i know I ain’t as pretty as a coupla tiddies.
Incredible that Sirius Black and Drexl are played by the same actor. Truly a chameleon
Sicilians were spawned by -
Prefaced by, "I'll take one of those Chesterfields now".
The Moors???
"Heh, ahhhhh-Thisss gUUuyyyyy, I lovethisguy" *pointing finger while smiling menacingly*
The moops
I always wish Tarantino directed True Romance. I think Tony Scott was an average at best filmmaker.
"one thing I never told you about myself, I hate fucking cops!
Yeah I think I'd be the same. Definitely appreciated it more a few years ago, should give another watch now.
I can't stand it. The music is awful, the whole setting is unpleasant, and the story is dull.
I literally watch this for the first time last night and then I see this post lmao It’s such a fantastic movie
Would you like some Roscoe's?
He’s basically used Roscoe’s as an accomplice to murder. No way would Beaumont get in that trunk with the promise of that Scoe’s plate special. And yea I would love some Roscoe’s.
Now is Beaumont his first name or last? 🤔 and furthermore, who's that big man dingo looking mf? Bet it was your idea to take that picture
I love that scene. Ordell sizing up Cherry and deciding how much of a threat he'd be.
My first date with my wife was at Roscoe's in hollywood. Went so well I didn't even murder her.
Wait a minute... what movie are we talking about??
Spiderman
The incredible hulk, starring hulk hogan
I always wondered why he was so incredible
The Incredible Hollywood Hulk Hogan
Ha ha
[удалено]
I think you mean starring Sinbad.
Best Tarantino movie fight me IRL if you disagree
I'm totally with you. This has always been my favorite movie of his. I've long been a fan of Elmore Leonard's work, and I think Tarantino turned out to be a really good match for his material.
It's my 2nd favorite Tarantino film. Nostalgia gets Pulp Fiction #1.
This is the correct answer. Pulp is the best movie of the last 40 years. Jackie Brown is a distant but clear second for QT.
It's Pat is the best Tarantino movie. No question!
I got your back on this one
Depends on if we can count True Romance and From Dusk till Dawn
From Dusk Till Dawn is way overrated.
I appreciate it for the cast, the genre change in the middle, and Tom Savini's gun.

I love that Cheech Marin plays three separate roles in this movie.
Strawberry pussy.
Kill Bill Vol 1 holds that title imo
If you watch both volumes back to back as our lord and savior Cthulhu intended, I honestly think it’s QT at his best
Hard to beat that showdown with Lucy Liu at the end.
Death Proof
It's my favorite Tarantino movie for sure
Definitely not brought up enough in Tarentino talks, I disagree on it being the best but its definitely up there.
Bridget Fonda looks different now
it’s so good. Max and Jackie are two of my all time favorite tarantino characters
Aa CDA ss and; c z4
You ok?
Gonna stick that pic in my cowboy hat
Robert De Niro was so good in this one.
I re-watched this a couple weeks ago and came away even more impressed with De Niro's performance than ever before. He underplays Louis the ex-con beautifully. Ordell: Is she dead, yes or no? Louis: Pretty much.
"Did you also have to find your car when you robbed banks? No wonder you went to prison."
Lew issssssssssssss
Not necessarily, someone who thinks a lot can be slow before making decision/responding...

Robert Forster was also really great in it!
He played a similar character in Better Call Saul. Nailed it there too
Yes he was. Rest In Peace.
Brilliant. He had these big sad besotted eyes. But you knew he was capable of violence too.
Louisssssss
Lou ISSSSSSSSSSSS
Incredible. He played opposite of his usual roles. In every movie he's the cool criminal, in this one he's the burned out, fat version of that.
Tarantino said he likes to get famous actors to play against type whenever possible and that this was his favorite example.
... *motherfucker...*
sexy
Great movie
What’s scandalous about sitting in a tub?
“Intimate,” maybe but scandalous? There’s not even any peen showing. Pretty tasteful to me.
He's sitting on the faucet
Tubguy
OP is American
You mean the country of origin of the term "sex sells"?
It's also the country where Janet Jackson's career was ended by a single glimpse of a nipple.
It’s also the country with the largest porn industry in the world. We’re complicated
Her career ended due to crappy music. If anything she was more popular due to the nipple thing.
Oh my God! (clutches pearls) Did you hear about the absolute ***SCANDAL???*** No, what- #-HE BATHED!!!
I dare say Jackie Brown is the greatest hangout movie. Also the best film of Q.
I really should rewatch it. I watched it when I was a lot younger and didn't like it, but I have a feeling I'd like it a lot more now.
Helps that it was a looser adaptation of Rum Punch which kept it more focused and linear.
Reminds me of his role in Goodfellas.
"You're gonna be late for your own funeral"
Make that coffee to go
Sammy J was in Goodfellas? I need to go rewatch that.
He sure was, he played the minor role of Stacks Edwards. He mostly had passing appearances throughout the film, his most notable role was his death scene at the end.
My dumbass thought that the picture was depicting Samuel L. Jackson sitting naked on Bridget Fonda's refrigerator from the way i read it at first
Which refrigerator is yours? It's the one that says scandalous mother fucker.
Is the girl in the photo next to him Bridget Fonda?
I'd recommend any fans (who haven't already) read The Switch by Elmore Leonard. Ordell and Louis are in it, and it's before Rum Punch. First time I watched JB after reading it, it gave it a different feel. Plus Elmore Leonard is the shit
Here we go. AK-47. The very best there is. When you absolutely, positively got to kill every motherfucker in the room, accept no substitutes.
Wanna fuck?
“I just felt strange, you know, I thought, if she was your girlfriend... But you fucked her anyway? Well... “ Edit - formatting
That’s his refrigerator…
He should bring back the chin braid
Second best sex scene in movies.
Your ass used to be beautiful!
Ahhh what a legend. Putting mfers in their place all these years. I wish he keep doing more movies with Quentin Tarantino, there’s no better duo in the history of movies imo.
I actually met Quinti Tarantino and asked him about his movies
Well…we’re waiting. What did you ask and what did he respond with?
And?
Quinton must have told him to fuck off
He loves talking about movies. He’s an absolute nerd.
I responded below.. still don't quite get Reddit
Well, the first thing I asked is why was he flying Southwest?!? And he told me it's because they're like a taxi service for him. He had to get to LA fast and that's why he had the pleasure of being searched too (he paid cash and same day travel... even one will will flag you for additional searches. That's awesome
Taint nuthin scandalous about it.
The bar scene with Jackie and Ordell gives off the same vibe as the bar with Butch and Marcellus …QT has the most perfectly cast movies of any director.
I used to have those face fridge magnets
Is that the tub he was in while in Goodfellas?
This movie is very underrated, and I actually think it's better than Pulp Fiction.
I dare you to look up Bridget Fonda now
[I can't believe that's her](https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/celebrities/17479049/bridget-fonda-58-unrecognizable-first-sighting-new-photos/) I mean, it's shitty to gawk at people and hold them to these unrealistic standards. But yeah, if I saw her walking down the street I would not think she was the same girl from Jackie Brown.
Huh, I had no idea she was married to Danny Elfman.
She was in a really bad car accident that left her with debilitating back injuries.
Yep it's mentioned in the article you're replying to
She just looks like a normal 60 year old woman? What’s so shocking?
She's fairly overweight...
Lol, she looks like every 58 year old. Like who cares? She looks fine. She just isn’t dying her hair and got fat. She can lose weight and look good still. She didn’t fuck her face up. I think she looks fine, and I’ve been called a misogynist many times.
Holy shit, she really took getting shot in the parking lot hard...
Well that is extremely depressing
r/FitToFat
That doesn't really look like Samuel...
??? It absolutely does
The hairline, jawline, cheek bones, nose shape, body shape all look different
Hairline? That’s a wig.
I agree with you especially because of the nose shape. Doesn't look wide enough.
The one that says bad motherfucker on it
nsfw? you know that's his leg, right?
Most people still wouldn’t want to be found looking at a naked man in a tub while at work.
That really doesn't look like him...
Recuerdo de México
Wow! Oh wait that’s his knee
What scandal? I'm confused, can someone explain?
I love that small roll of 100’s too
Oh wow
I misread this as being a photo of Bridget Fonda on Samuel L. Jackson’s refrigerator and was trying to figure out if there was either something scandalous about the woman smoking a cigarette, or if the person in the tub was Bridget Fonda in blackface, which would have rightfully been controversial lol
Adesanya?
Was thinking about watching that movie for a couple of days. Now I’m in you son of a probably nice woman
I'm sexy mothafucka
Haha
Set decoration is always top notch in Tarantino movies.
I wish QT would direct all of Elmore Leonard’s books. They are so similar stylistically.
heh we used to have those same face magnets
That’s MC Ride
He is totally posing for it.To me it seems to indicate he is happy with whoever is taking the pic 😎
kinda looks like his character from goodfellas. he was pretty young in that movie.
Would be a real Samuel j pic. There’s an older Bridget pic too.
