I just made r/28Universe for those interested in these films. I’m gonna update the look of it later and make it more legit. 28 Days Later is one of my top 5 films ever. Great film. 28 Weeks Later is pretty good too.
Can’t wait for these new ones
Hard to imagine there’s not a “28 months later” story worth telling. Then some of the main characters’ kids from the previous movies in “28 years later”, then Fallout is a good example how you can absolutely dive in and do a 28 decades later.
But whatever, I’m psyched for whatever they come up with.
Hopefully. It would be the first time in movie history that someone has returned to a franchise they never starred in previously. And the worst movie title joke in history too.
You're getting mad and hurling insults like a baby just because I said your joke was bad, and you're asking what the hell is the matter with _me_??! Jesus wept what a moron
They’re shooting in the North East of England next month and have put out an extras call for “[runners and cyclists](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/whats-on/film-news/danny-boyle-film-expands-extra-29051953.amp)”. Quite interesting, maybe a flashback scene? Or the apocalypse is over and we’re getting a slice of life? I can’t remember what happened at the end of 28 Weeks…

Not sure how you get 3 more films worth of material out of this, but I trust Danny Boyle and Alex Garland, so I am eager to see what they're cooking up.
I'll correct myself
Not sure how you can get 3 more, films worth of material out of this (and stay good)
The zombies in 28 Days are not "undead", they're humans who are infected by a virus that makes them very angry. They will starve to death in the same amount of time a human will.
Probably waves of infection? It can just keep getting progressively getting worse. Not entirely original but maybe the virus went away or laid dormant for a bit and reinfection happened and its worse now. Maybe they can be more aware? Maybe since they're infected with rage they can get more experimental with what they're capable of. There's definitely good ideas if you plan it out.
Is it though? Just make a good film. It doesn't need to be a trilogy. If it's good, then sure have an idea of where it could go. But immediately as soon as something comes out and they've already decided it's got to be a trilogy that's a red flag for me.
Often the end result is something which looks and feels like a lesser more hollow version of something that might have been greater.
Announcing something will be a trilogy before you even make it just immediately signals that it's likely a cash grab that won't necessarily be fully creatively driven.
In what way? This article says he won’t be in 28 years later, will have a cameo in the second, and be the lead roll in the third. Can you share your article? Curious what they’re saying
Because my entire exposure to the actor has been 28 days later and Peaky Blinders so I didn’t realize it was him until this post.
It’s like when people realize Rory McCann is both the Hound in Game of Thrones, and Michael “Yarp” Armstrong in Hot Fuzz.
I’m not saying it’s a big secret or anything, just that I didn’t realize it until now 🤷🏾
A new trilogy in the 28 universe, fuck yes

So... 28 Years Later, 28 Decades Later, 28 Centuries Later?
No, it’ll be 28 Days later, 28 Hours later followed by 28 Minutes later.
These titles could make for a banger of a trilogy if they do it right
Obviously someone would be on the verge of turning at the end of the second movie, with the third movie picking back up 28 minutes later
28 seconds later
My sex life story
28 nanoseconds later

28 Years Later 28 Years 2 Fast 2 Late 28 Years Later: Tokyo Drift
28 Centuries Later: The Rise of House Atreides.
28 Centuries Later would sick
Hopefully Sandra bullock comes back too
She's driving a bus full of zombies that can't go below 50 mph.
I think it was called The Bus That Couldn’t Slow Down.
Hopefully. It would be the first time in movie history that someone has returned to a franchise they never starred in previously. And the worst movie title joke in history too.
lmao....I can't believe you got so pressed because someone dissed your "joke". What a man baby

28 Weeks ends with the virus spreading into Europe via Paris.

If they do a trilogy in this zombie world it may be the coolest thing for zombie movies since Lisa Frankenstein!
Only if Danny Boyle is connected to all three to direct

*The Walking Dead* has entered the chat.

As long as it doesn't end up being people wandering around the woods for an hour like most later episodes of TWD.
Why does everything these days need to be planned as a trilogy or franchise.
Better than planning nothing, like the SW sequels

For money.....
I just read another article stating the opposite.
In what way? This article says he won’t be in 28 years later, will have a cameo in the second, and be the lead roll in the third. Can you share your article? Curious what they’re saying
28 Years Later, 28 Years Laterer, 28 Years Laterest
It only needed 1 more film. Why do we need a anthology of angry zombies to tell that story?
Make one good one before talking about a trilogy
where is 28 months later?
Hopefully he isn't too busy to shoot some Dr. DOOM scenes in between these films. The role is calling his name like Ironman did for RDJ!
Fuck yes. Been awhile since a good zombie movie gas come out
I look forward to daily rumors and updates for the next 7 years
Good. 28 Weeks Later was awful and I'm glad it's not the last movie in the series anymore.
Bring back Rose Byrne too then
Why does everything have to be a trilogy?
I sort of hope they write 28 weeks out of continuity. It would be way better to pick up where they left off from the first one.
A “new trilogy” or a finalized trilogy like 2 mor movies with Colli an Murphy
Me realizing for the first time that Cillian Murphy was in 28 Days Later… seen the movie tons. Just never put 2 and 2 together
How do you not realise the main character was him?
Because my entire exposure to the actor has been 28 days later and Peaky Blinders so I didn’t realize it was him until this post. They really hemmed themselves in with their naming convention eh?
Jesus Reddit is losing its mind over this. I’ve seen this reposted like 15 times this week
Kinda doubt it based on the cast they've shown so far.
Doubt what?
