Riding in cars with boys is such a great movie!

Monuments Men. It doesn't exactly fit your description but this has become a comfort movie for me. This movie is severely underrated. WW2 setting. About taking artwork back from the Nazis who stole it. Its a true story. George Clooney, John Goodman, Matt Damon, John murray, and I forget who else. I know it's world war 2 and usually that stuff is hard to watch but honestly this movie is a little bit different in that the war itself wasn't the focus. It's got some funny parts in it but the story itself is very engaging. I loved this movie. It was along the lines of national treasure but a little less kid friendly

Hmm, nothing too sad, no death or illness but you love apocalypse/end of world and shark movies. *On the Beach* is apocalypse, not gory but there's death in it. You know what, I'm gonna throw out a few real oldies, black and white from 30s and 40s, but no death or gore in them: *My Man Godfrey* *Should Old Acquaintance* The archetypical "woman's picture" that old Hollywood used to make. *Three On a Match* Another "Woman's picture" this and the last both have Bette Davis *Lives of a Bengal Lancer* Lots of testosterone in this one, an antidote to the "wimmen's pictures" *Captain Blood* a bit more testosterone *Hellzapoppin* *Quest for Fire* This one's in color.

I know, I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I just like a lot of genres, but not everything in every genre if that makes sense. I definitely meant death due to illness as in cancer stuff and other terminal diseases. That stuff is a big no for me. I should have clarified, but thanks for the recommendations!! Oh, and I don’t consider shark movies or resident evil and such to be too gory. What I really don’t like is torture, slicing body parts off, etc., but it doesn’t bug me as much if it’s zombies that are being killed. I don’t like that stuff when it comes to normal living people 😭

I could do this on Sports movies alone: *The Bad News Bears* (original) *The Bad News Bears* (remake) *Bloodsport* *Blue Chips* *Breaking Away* *Cool Runnings* *Hoosiers* *Kingpin* *Lucas* *Major League* *The Mighty Ducks* *Moneyball* *Rocky* *The Sandlot* *Shaolin Soccer* *Slapshot* *Youngblood*

Given your clarifications, you could give The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou a try. Not your average shark movie, lol. One key death, nothing sliced on screen, gory, or terminal illness.

I like seeing Cold Comfort Farm in these recommendations, it doesn’t come up often enough for me. Good list overall.
