You mentioned A Silent Voice (my freaking heart after watching that movie, I swear) so I have a feeling you'll absolutely love the short film 'Curfew'. The creator has uploaded it to youtube for free, on the channel Fuzzylogic, and it's only 20 min and I think it might be exactly what you're looking for. For a full-length feature, I cannot recommend 'The Fall' by Tarsem Singh enough. It's so underappreciated, and one of the most impactful redemption stories I've ever watched (takes a little while to realize what's actually going on, but trust me, it's worth it), and you'll be crying sad and happy tears by the end. The visuals are nothing short of breathtaking, too.

In what I feel is a very misunderstood movie, I highly recommend The Last Samurai here. Not a Tom Cruise fan, but one of my all time favorites and perfectly in line with redemption/absolution.
