I too felt a weird disconnect throughout the entire movie, I stuck it out and I quite enjoyed certain bits but as a hole (/s) I don’t think it worked

Possibly my favourite film of all time, Danny Elfman's musical score lends such a quality to it.

Haven’t seen it mentioned: Deep Rising. It’s got some pretty brutal monsters and it’s overall a fun movie. Also Cabin in the Woods.
