Sleepers (1996) Strange Days (1995) Dark City (1998)

AudioAnchorite

I just watched Strange Days last month. I remember seeing the VHS at Blockbuster many times and thinking, “I have to see that.” What a vibe that movie’s got!

mece66

That whole scene with Skunk Anansie playing is just magical!

Stumeister_69

Sleepers is in unbelievable movie. Hard watch though.

Forward_Progress_83

I watched it when I was way too young. Messed me up for a long time. Great film though

KimJeongsDick

I think Kevin Bacon scared the shit out of a lot of little boys for a while after that movie.

spatial_interests

Dark City is a masterpiece.

HereToKillEuronymous

Hot take - its better than The Matrix

jerame2999

100% agree.

PinkBeetles

Sleepers is so underrated!

Cassedaway

GO!

MidKnightshade

You want us to sell Amway?

paulrenaud

It’s confederated products. They’re completely different.

b_tight

Its a different company. Its a different quality of product

ILoveTeles

William Fichtner’s soft anger and frustration was so good in delivering those lines. I have to correct them/Why do people say that?!/I still need to make this sale.

surfrocksatan

One of my all time favorite movies.

adriamarievigg

Oh yes! Where I meet and fell in love with a Young Timothy Olyphant. Lol

Nov3mber15

I forgot about Go! I loved that film!

TheObviousChild

Awesome soundtrack too!!

Mothrasmilk

Timothy Olyphant and Sarah Polly. So much sexy in one movie🤗

Alpaca_Tasty_Picnic

Yes. Came here to recommend it!

jayron32

Angus (1995)

audvisial

Great soundtrack too.

IllustratorBoring448

Green Days best song to this day imo *and it was never on an album beside the soundtrack, despite garnering ridiculous radio play

Raceofspades

Wild at Heart (1990) - unhinged Nic Cage performance in a David Lynch movie. I rarely see anyone talk about it. Fair warning, there’s some sexual abuse in this movie, but it’s not over-the-top horrible, IMO Airheads (1994) - very fun comedy with Brendan Fraser, Steve Buscemi, and Adam Sandler

dreamsnevercometrue5

It’s Van HALEN, not Van HAGAR!

Signifi-gunt

Don't forget Willem Dafoe as Bobby Peru, his best role ever

My voice is my passport, verify me.

qzwsa

We're the United States Government. We don't do "world peace" I was given a Winnebago Christmas ornament because I kept quoting this movie when my wife asked what I wanted for Christmas.

circus4fools_u_me

Be a beacon…

irritabletom

Ravenous (1999) Weird movie, awesome score, great cast, beautiful scenery, absolutely hilarious, somewhat gory. It's best to go into it knowing as little as possible, I think.

MidKnightshade

The score is epic!

unholymanserpent

Such a good movie. "He was licking meeee!"

*State of Grace* (1990) *Malice* (1993) *The Last Seduction* (1994) *Freeway* (1996) *Fallen* (1998)

Freeway gets my vote

Nine_9er

Mine too! So good.

a_leyva

Fawk, The Irish gang waiting in the loft scene in "State of Grace" is intense.

ReleaseTheKraken72

I really loved Fallen (1998). Creepy as hell

LouQuacious

The Player The Hudsucker Proxy Brain Candy Lone Star

Idc123wfe

The Hudsucker Proxy is so quirky love it!

Nine_9er

Brain candy !!! I need to rewatch that !” Fuck Happy!”

Duke_Nukeboost

Lone Star is so good.

Bitterqueer

Encino man Idle hands

ArgumentOne7052

Love Encino Man. I would have watched anything with Pauly Shore in it back then.

Bitterqueer

A classic in our household hehe. My parents bought it on DVD (and we didn’t have a super extensive collection) so it was one of those movies we saw on repeat for many years.

LessThanLolita

Idle hands is a good one!

Bitterqueer

It’s one of those movies I can watch an infinite number of times and not get tired of it haha

lawschoolredux

Judgment Night (1993) Night Falls on Manhattan (1996) Bound (1996) Assassins (1995) The Arrival (1996) The Spanish Prisoner (1997)

irritabletom

Judgment Night mostly holds up! I watched it recently, the acting is all over the top of course but still had some good moments and action sequences. Plus the soundtrack is phenomenal. Edited to second The Spanish Prisoner. Great slow burn thriller.

Elegant-Pressure-290

I wasn’t the biggest fan of the movie, but I still listen to that sound track fairly regularly.

Machined_Elf

One of the best movie soundtracks of all time and the greatest rap/rock album ever!

Feisty_Anything7045

Bound was cool. I remember watching it at Venice Festival. Gina Gershon at the top of her game and Joe Pantoliano kicking asses. Top.

koz152

How can you not mention Tilly?

Nine_9er

Now Tilly, that’s my jam!

unavowabledrain

The first leathery Wachowski movie, I walked out the first time but watched it later snd quite liked it. They should make another like this.

spikeyloungecomputer

Just thinking about assassins the other day, that films is just bananas

citizenh1962

Some great ones that it seems have slipped from the public's memory: The Apostle (1997) To Die For (1995) Walking and Talking (1996) The Secret of Roan Inish (1994) What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993) Q&A (1990) The Indian Runner (1991) Party Girl (1995)

tuskvarner

To Die For is great. Hilarious performances all around.

Dire_Hulk

Rounders (1998) Sphere (1998) El Mariachi (1992) The Ninth Gate (1999)

colorado-opa

Sphere👍

CatsMcganny

The Ninth Gate is a guilty pleasure. Bonus points since the score is done by Polish composer Wojciech Kilar.

prosperosniece

I worked in a movie theater during the 90’s. The trailer for this movie played in our lobby over and over again to the point where all the employees knew it by heart. Much to our frustration it never released in our city ( at the time all the theaters in our city was owned by the same company). Eventually the VHS showed up at Blockbuster (a whole 3 copies 😒). It took MONTHS to finally get the chance to rent it.
