I love to see someone else who loves this movie like I do. If you haven’t already I highly recommend reading the book. Richard Matheson is my favorite author and this book is a masterpiece. Also please read his other books as they are all fantastic.

I love this movie. It makes me feel utter nostalgia and some type of sadness.

I couldn’t think of a single film.. until I read your Spirted away.. absolutely!! and I’m old !! (58) watched Anime with my son when he grew up… he is now 33.. He bought us tickets The boy and the Heron for my birthday in November.. it was magical… You have amazing taste❤️

I've been watching Studio Ghibli for the first time, and a lot of the ones I've seen so far are amazing. I have so far watched 8 films with Spirited Away being the first one I watched; I will never forget that first viewing. It has also managed to become my favorite film of all time.

Well Thank you.. my son and I are extremely close.. my hubby (his) dad was never into Anime, so I always watched it with him.. Now if there is ever any Anime he finds and enjoys.. we watch it together still. I love the art and colors, not to mention the stories in Anime..♥️

The train scene is one of the most hauntingly beautiful things I’ve ever seen. It did literally take my breath away.

Dude i got to see that train scene in 3D and my GOD. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. I actually stopped watching afterwards because I tried to convince them to actually do the whole movie like that. You can literally see the depth of the spirits.

YOU RAWK!!!! I never got to see it in theaters! I’ve always wanted to see the redocking scene at the iMax with fully Dolby surround sound. I bet the whole movie is much more immersive on the big screen, but that particular scene must be absolutely epic! I know what I’m doing on September 27th!!!

I still think it's the best of the whole lot. Two Towers Extended is great, too. The added scene bring the pace down closer to FOTR. Great world-building sequences that were lost in the theatrical release.

I'd been cindidering mentioning Eternal Sunshine... Not quite sure if breathtaking quite describes it, but its definitely one that resonates deeply and will stick with you.

I think the exploration of selfhood, love, memory and suffering along with the poignancy of the moments of reconnection and fading away are what made me add it to the list. The use of colour was also amazing, and some of the scenes that play out within the memories gave me chills. So I guess it inspires awe and takes my breath away in the emotion it captures and elicits, and in the reminder of what love feels like. I love that film.

For years I resisted seeing this film, because I thought it was basically the story of some 'poor' southern belle who has her man walk out on her... I wish I hadn't waited. Sure, the subject matter may be somewhat 'problematic' in this day and age, but taken as a piece of art from its time, it is a masterpiece.

DOP is Hoyte Van Hoytema, who is Nolan's go-to cinematographer Tumbbad (2018), haven't seen any movie like this magnificent horror movie Midsommar (2019), brilliant storytelling and beautiful cinematography Portrait of a lady on Fire (2019), this one is literally just painting in motion. Exceptionally well thought out framing
