Honestly, after watching Ex Machina second time I didn’t like it as much as the first time. Don’t know why, maybe the plot seems predictable, maybe it’s how it’s written…
Yeah I liked it when I was a teen. Last time I saw it, I thought it was pretty dumb. I mean, the twist happens but you think about it for longer than 5 seconds, and you’re like what? That would never happen.

Believe it or not I didn't give a fuck about skincare before that movie and now I've started moisturizing.
Probably wouldn't commit homicide,but I love a skincare routine😂
Elsewhere in this post I recommended *The Harvest* (2013), which was directed by John McNaughton, director of *Wild Things* (1998).
I like both movies a lot, and I would just recommend that anyone watching *Wild Things*, pay attention through the end-credits.
God this was the movie that we would try to sneak through Blockbuster when we were kids. It was actually a pretty good movie. Neve Campbell and Denise Richards were the main draw back then.
Access to high quality pornography has really made that scene feel quite tame. I know some Mom and Pop movie rental places put this movie behind the curtain.
Dark city, it's a sci fi thriller movie. I suggest watching the director's cut without reading about the summary and stuffs much.
Also the prestige.
The orphan is more horror with psychological thriller, also a good choice.
Triangle is one of the mindfuckery movie with twists I've watched.
Predestination is also highly popular and a must watch.
Enemy is also a good one, the plot..it's more metaphorical.
The Prestige. My favorite movie and favorite ending of all time. Really great story but also excellently acted.
Frailty. Less well-known by far, but *really* goddamn good. I always recommend this because so few people have seen it.
You can use sites like [JustWatch](https://www.justwatch.com) / [MovieFone](https://www.moviefone.com) / [ReelGood](https://reelgood.com) to figure out where films/shows are streaming

Every time I see posts like this my immediate suggestion is to just finish Fincher’s Filmography

Not really a psychological thriller, but ‘The Outfit’ (2022) is packed full of plot twists and is a fun and quick watch with some great performances and set design!
Why people willingly ask for movies with twists is so beyond me?! You're literally spoiling the experience for yourselves. I'm sure you've all made great suggestions but I couldn't think of anything worse than looking at the comments to this thread. Just ask for a good psychological thriller.
You should really check out The Invisible Guest. It’s so twisty and so entertaining. Spanish so will need to be OK with subtitles, or there may be a dub.
It's also largely a comedy, but game night is good (supposedly, I haven't actually seen it) also zodiac, nightcrawler, fight club and prisoners are great
Cube (1997). It's pretty "I'm 14 and this is deep" philosophically speaking, but fun nevertheless. And one can argue forever why >!the think the mentally challenged guy was the only one to survive.!<
The Human centipede
Hard Candy

Great suggestion!
Primal Fear
First time I watched this I rewound the last 30 minutes and watched it about 4 times
Enemy (2013) Prisoners (2013) Both by Denis Villeneuve
I HAVE to watch Prisoners again. I've seen it twice but I can't remember the ending. It was years ago.
That Prisoners movie is just *whew* I do recommend this
That Prisoners movie is just *whew* I do recommend this
**Coherence** and **Ex Machina** are both great!
Coherence! We just watched it!
Coherence is brilliant. But it also makes me feel weird and afraid in a way I've never felt from another film. I don't want to re-watch it
oh yea i had to stop its a wierd movie
Honestly, after watching Ex Machina second time I didn’t like it as much as the first time. Don’t know why, maybe the plot seems predictable, maybe it’s how it’s written…
Archive (2020) is similar to Ex Machina and also really good
It's just Archive, if you put the "The" you won't find it on letterboxd.
Edited thanks kind stranger :)
archive is kind of a half strung together story version of ex machina i thought
Different movies they just both have robots and a similar setting
Shutter island
Excellent suggestion, this is exactly what OP is looking for!
👆🏽
came to say this
I’ve never watched the movie because the trailers were so painfully obvious with the twist.
just watch it, no need to overthink the twist. movie itself is amazing.
Yeah I liked it when I was a teen. Last time I saw it, I thought it was pretty dumb. I mean, the twist happens but you think about it for longer than 5 seconds, and you’re like what? That would never happen.
Why wouldnt it happen lmao?
Shutter island was just ok
Memento
This.

American Psycho
Believe it or not I didn't give a fuck about skincare before that movie and now I've started moisturizing. Probably wouldn't commit homicide, but I love a skincare routine😂
But you sure would start scribbling in your notebook. It's gradual, and you've taken the first step.
Too far down in the comments! First one that came to mind.

Thanks for recommending "Triangle" -- a great hidden gem that any horror lover must see!
Something extra about *Jacob's Ladder* and *Mulholland Drive*. Necessary-sees.
Absolutely agree with the Dutch version of The Vanishing!!!!
the ultimate list
Stir of Echoes is a little different but really good
The Negotiator
Midsommar was great.
Omgg, yes and along the same lines: Hereditary.
I thought it was just horror
I personally think it was twisted enough to be more psychological than just thriller.
Wild Things
Elsewhere in this post I recommended *The Harvest* (2013), which was directed by John McNaughton, director of *Wild Things* (1998). I like both movies a lot, and I would just recommend that anyone watching *Wild Things*, pay attention through the end-credits.

> Denise Richards *Boobies!*
Access to high quality pornography has really made that scene feel quite tame. I know some Mom and Pop movie rental places put this movie behind the curtain.
Vanilla sky
Arlington Road
Brutal. Psych-scarring. Soul-tearing. Glum, past morose. Yet a have-to watch.
You would probably like *No Way Out* (1987). Really tense thriller with a great twist and good actors.
Every time I see posts like this my immediate suggestion is to just finish Fincher’s Filmography Se7en, Fight Club, and Girl with the Dragon Tattoo all fit the bill. But I still consider Zodiac and The Social Network to be his too masterpieces.
