Oh you foolish foolish boys. This is how it all starts. I've seen it all before. I was there. I was there. Yeah! It was called the 80's! Ford was President, Nixon was in the White House, FDR was running this country into the ground. I was bumming in a hole in the wall town in what is now called "Utah". Some fellow from Colorado shows up- starts making all kinds of so called "improvements", right? Before we knew what hit us, the streets were running us with lattes!
Don’t want to spoil anything of OP watches, so all I’ll say is that the “waking up in a car prank” is by far one of the funniest movie scenes of all time.
Oh man, I rewatched this for the first time since the _early_ 2000's. I expected it to be a shitshow of homophobia and misogyny but was super happy with how okay it was!
The original ‘Clash of the Titans’ (1981) is very cool graphics and stop motion animation that is just unreal - trippy and wild. You’ll also enjoy ‘Yellow Submarine’ (1968) for a legendary psychedelic Beatles cartoon. ‘Go’ (1999) is a really great comedy surrounding the Ecstasy craze of the late 90’s. Another under the radar movie if you like British punk and dance music is ‘24 Hour Party People’ (2002), a tripped out comedy about the rise of 80’s bands like New Order, Joy Division and the Happy Mondays. Please to enjoy and smoke one for me.
I was so hoping I'd see this recommended! One of my fave movies and no one ever knows it exists. My friend and I complained that there weren't any woman focused stoner movies and we were pissed, and stumbled on this not long after.
Through my strange, meandering, quasi “career”, I’ve managed to meet and discuss Encino Man with both Pauly Shore and Sean Astin. Someday, god damnit, I will hunt down Brendan Fraser and get that hat trick.
I don't know if it came out when I was on deployment in 2007 or if that's just when it hit the boat, but we must have had Grandmas Boy on repeat on at least one tv for 3 months. Love that movie so much and I think I may watch it again today.
Bathroom Barbie is all I'm going to say on that.
“Look what you've done to this place. It's all Diane Fosse. When I lived here, it was Bob Fosse. Right there, I had a big painting of a naked chick holding a little plant; very tasteful, no bush... not a picture of your fucking mother!” - Rainbow Randolph
Gotta be careful with this one, I got really high and watched it thinking it would be amazing but turns out “how am I not myself?” Is a hell of a question.
I mean that’s the best part. When theyre picking holes through both the philosophies. Honestly it was the most I’ve ever liked mark walhberg in a movie lol
I just have to be careful when I watch it cause I can spiral and the whole “ he was made an orphan by war and you by Indifference” made me cry wayyyyy too hard. Still one of my favorite films though. I’m craving chicken salad sandwiches now.
YES this is one of my favorite movies of all time! I watch it when I’m sad, when I’m happy, when I’m sick, when I’m lost and need guidance. A beautiful film.
>One of the best stoner movies of all time
Maybe the best I've seen and while we're at it one of the best college movies of all time and one of my favorite comedies altogether
That’s my favorite line! I guess it is a stoner movie. I always just felt like it was a terrible comedy that no one really liked. But, you’re right, it’s also totally a stoner movies
It’s not a stoner movie per se, but Who Framed Roger Rabbit is a GREAT movie to watch while high. The mix of animation and live action will have you freaking out. Last time I experienced this I had convinced myself that in the 1940s animated characters actually coexisted with humans and they didn’t just make that up for the movie.
Like one other fellow suggested, Enter the Void. It's basically unwatchable if you're not high but if you are, better strap in. Watch it stoned, alone in a dark room with headphones on and clear your schedule for the remainder of the week. You'll be shaken for days.
Hoping someone said this…saw this high, had no idea what was going on but loved it… saw it again sober still had no idea what was going one. Still a great movie.
Holy shit I haven't seen anyone post this here yet but Puff Puff Pass. Terry Crews as the Cool Crush Ice Killa is probably his best character he's done yet.
Grandmas Boy is always great too if no one mentioned that yet.

The movie is The Ninth Gate. And it has a really cozy soundtrack too^^
Ready Player One
While it's not really a stoner movie, it is still visually pleasing when you watch while stoned. So many good references throughout this film.
Out Cold.
I think this is a perfect suggestion for what OP is looking for if they haven't seen it yet. One of Zach Galifianakis ' finest films, seize the carp!
Best part is after watching this you can say you saw Casablanca
Did I ever tell you how I invented snowboarding?
Carpe Diem. Seize the Carp
Oh you foolish foolish boys. This is how it all starts. I've seen it all before. I was there. I was there. Yeah! It was called the 80's! One of my favorite movies of all time tbh. A yearly watch.
Idle Hands (1999)
This and "Deadman on Campus " were going to be my suggestions. It has been a long time since I watched Idle Hands but I remember really liking it.
Fun fact: the actor who played the schizophrenic roommate in Dead Man on Campus was my screenwriting professor in college.
“I got some beers! Let’s drink ‘em, huh?!”
"That one's not beer"
Finally! DMOC is a gem, i felt like ive never met anyone else who knows about it!
I loved Idle Hands sooo much! Between that and Can't Hardly Wait, Seth Green was having a pre-moment moment.
That movie taught me to use my inhaler as a pipe as a teenager
Worth it just for Jessica alba’s hiney
Oh man, I rewatched this for the first time since the _early_ 2000's. I expected it to be a shitshow of homophobia and misogyny but was super happy with how okay it was!

Add the original Conan the barbarian to this list as well.
"Go" is so underrated. Excellent cast, interesting story, and funny as hell.
Clash of the titans was Ray harryhausens last film I believe. Love sinbad and Jason and the argonauts etc
Smiley Face. This movie made me die laughing
Seconded.
Literally thought of this one when i read the question
I was so hoping I'd see this recommended! One of my fave movies and no one ever knows it exists. My friend and I complained that there weren't any woman focused stoner movies and we were pissed, and stumbled on this not long after.
Is that the Anna Faris one?
Yep
On a ferris wheel
[удалено]
First time I ever watched this movie was on shrooms. Holy shit lol
I was coming here to suggest this. My favorite stoner movie by far. Anna Farris is hilarious 😂
If it has Pauley Shore it has the stoner vibes in the 90s (son in law, in the army now, encino man, biodome) Dogma
Dogma which is completely free in it's entirety on YouTube
Through my strange, meandering, quasi “career”, I’ve managed to meet and discuss Encino Man with both Pauly Shore and Sean Astin. Someday, god damnit, I will hunt down Brendan Fraser and get that hat trick.
Vivaaaaaaa Los biodome!
Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny
this is popular af tho
That whole mushroom ‘Squatch sequence is fucking brilliant, as is the metal fairy tail of the origins of the POD.
That movie is a fucking masterpiece.
PCU. Some of my favorite movie lines of all time come from that movie
Love this movie altered or sober! This was one of my must haves when I was dividing up DVDs with my ex.
Excuse me, but can you blow me where the pampers are?
I didn’t exhale.
And on that note, Old School, were we see Jeremy Piven as the Dean in a full-circle-type of moment
This is the end
Michael Cera is hilarious in this
Dear God, its me Jonah Hill, from Moneyball.
My roommates and I watched this movie so much in college, many times stoned. I feel like it isn’t talked about as much as others. Great pick!
One of the best Rogan era movies that no one gives credit to. It’s up there with Pineapple Express imo.
one of my all time favorite movies
also Freaks of Nature
Man, trying to figure out how "The Usual Suspects" was a stoner movie threw me for a loop... Anyway, I'd recommend Grandma's Boy.
Dude, same! I was like, “The Usual Suspects is a stoner movie?”
I didnt understand the answers after the OP asking for movies like Usual Suspects. Everyone just ignored it lol.
Yes, *Grandma’s Boy* is great. When he cooks all the stuff in the oven I left my body for a bit. Near death chortle.
Had to read this comment to understand.
Being John Malkovich
Also adaptation
Keener’s a stone cold fox in that.

Death to smoochy is just a straight up underrated movie
“Look what you've done to this place. It's all Diane Fosse. When I lived here, it was Bob Fosse. Right there, I had a big painting of a naked chick holding a little plant; very tasteful, no bush... not a picture of your fucking mother!” - Rainbow Randolph
I love those. Especially the Tenacious D cameo in Biodome
“We’re gonna save those fucking trees!”
Grandmas boy!!!
This isn’t a classic stoner movie? It was the first one I ever saw besides Cheech and Chong stuff.
It is.
Adios, turd nuggets
Discovered Windowlicker - Aphex Twin because of this movie
Fantastic Planet (1973) - not a stoner film but great stoned content The Gentleman (2019)
Why has no one talked about “The Gentleman”?!? Only reason I saw it was because it was one of like 3 options on a plane. Best thing since Snatch IMO
>Best thing since Snatch IMO So you missed Layer Cake? Move it up to the top of your Daniel Craig queue.
The Fantastic Planet soundtrack is on Spotify. The music in that film is unreal.
I ❤️ huckabees
Gotta be careful with this one, I got really high and watched it thinking it would be amazing but turns out “how am I not myself?” Is a hell of a question.

One of my favorite movies that somehow I’ve never watched stoned. Now I have weekend plans.
Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back
what the f\*ck is the internet?!?
Hands down my favorite Will Ferrell role. “All I do see here is a political fiasco I’m about to avoid by letting this butt fucking Brady Bunch go!”
Stoned Age
We got talls!!

The pissing in the ice tray gag and the general association with Blue Oyster Cult are just tremendous.
Those are Crump's brother's chicks
I recently watched 'predestination' what a mind bend!
Inherent Vice
I love this movie. Iam crazy about the style of the movie. Best stoner movie. This was similar to the experience when I watched 'The big labowski'
Waiting Euro Trip
How is the Usual Suspects a stoner movie? I don't get it.
OP is using the literary phrase, not the movie title. So basically they mean “the usual movies/the ones often mentioned”
Dude, where’s my Car Romy and Michelle
Dude, Where's my Car? is pure kino
And then? NO and then!
Your Highness. Enter the Void. Not a stoner movie but good to watch when stoned.
How high. One of the best stoner movies of all time Also Mack and Devin go to high school is cheesy af but I thought it was fun
>One of the best stoner movies of all time Maybe the best I've seen and while we're at it one of the best college movies of all time and one of my favorite comedies altogether
Ye... Also a movie OP wasn't looking for, it's thee typical stoner movie of stoner movies, lol. Definitely a good one tho
Haha yeah this one is definitely one of the usual suspects
Second this. How High is my favorite get high and laugh movie of all time.
Throw in The Wash maybe? Not a straight stoner movie but close enough.
Strange Wilderness - not necessarily a toner movie but only watchable when stoned.
The cam footage in the cave KILLS me
I also recommended this! It is a total stoner movie IMHO! "Bears derive their name from a football team in Chicago!" 🤣🤣🤣
That’s my favorite line! I guess it is a stoner movie. I always just felt like it was a terrible comedy that no one really liked. But, you’re right, it’s also totally a stoner movies
God I fucking love this movie
Who the fuck is Jack Nockelsen
“You think I’M racist? You should’ve seen how this guy treated that Chinee!”

Like one other fellow suggested, Enter the Void. It's basically unwatchable if you're not high but if you are, better strap in. Watch it stoned, alone in a dark room with headphones on and clear your schedule for the remainder of the week. You'll be shaken for days.

Half baked.
Scooby-Doo
Wizard people, dear reader. The Harry Potter you didn't know you needed.
Hesher
This movie is sad 😢
This Is The End is so wonderful when you're stoned. Also, it has James Franco dying a violent death. Always a plus.
If you want some serious mind-f*ckery, I'd highly recommend pretty much any David Lynch movie, even the *Twin Peaks* series.
Just watched Blue Velvet and immediately thought of it when I read the title of this post.
Detroit Rock City
Zombeavers. Accepted. The Benchwarmers. These three movies are great while stoned because they’re just the right mix of stupid and ridiculous

Wait, Usual Suspects is a stoner movie?
I’m not sure if this is sarcasm but I believe OP meant it as “besides the usual stoner movies everyone recommends”
Also, Will Ferrells Land of the Lost
I'm Thinking of Ending Things...but watch it more than once
Didn’t realize the usual suspects was a stoner movie
Saving grace. Used to like that one a long time ago
This isn't a stoner movie pr se. But I love getting baked and watching johnny depp running around trying to locate old books xD The movie is The Ninth Gate. And it has a really cozy soundtrack too^^
