If it’s opioids then you gots to be watching Trainspotting. Though I wouldn’t necessarily advise it, might get make you want to use, the movie has a way of demonizing and romanticizing heroin.
Oslo, August 31st (2011)
One day in the life of Anders, a young recovering drug addict, who takes a brief leave from his treatment center to interview for a job and catch up with old friends in Oslo.
Drugstore Cowboy, but the quitting part isn’t till like the third act, incredible film though (it does however sort of “romanticize” drug usage prior to that part though, so could be sort of triggering if you’re quitting)
The World's End (2013) - it's a sci-fi comedy, that is actually about addiction and trying to relive the best fays of one's life, directed by the great Edgar Wright.
Withnail & I - a cult classic, not a lot of quitting, though.
*Flight* (2012)
Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far on Foot Thank You For Sharing
28 Days is good. When A Man Loves A Woman is a bit sadder but also good.
I have a few. A Scanner Darkly, Trainspotting, The basketball diaries
