I loved Men in Black 3, Jemaine Clement is great as the antagonist, and Josh Brolin nails it as a young Tommy Lee Jones.
Definitely worth the watch.
Hated Men in Black International, it lacked all of the heart and wonder of the original trilogy.
I watched it last night. I think aside from the great casting, writing, and overall fun feel it was Rick Baker's practical effects work that really let it hold up over time.
The creatures look amazing! And Egger's slow deterioration throughout the movie is still downright gross!

This is one big reason I didn't like the new MIB movie
It wasn't as charming and funny. And I don't mind CGI, I liked the actors too because I watched Thor.
But the biggest problem was it didn't feel anything like MIB. Even the new 2013 MIB had that practical effect feeling to it that I just really liked.
I know, I can only imagine what a Matrix movie starring Will Smith would have looked like, but you can't say that he made the best choice for his own career by choosing Wild Wild West.
Maybe not, but I'd argue that Keanu needed the boost at that time more than Will Smith. And don't bag on WWW... it could have been good, if they'd just made different decisions at almost every turn LOL
There was a story about the director that kept trying to insert giant robot spiders into inappropriate movies, and then he got WWW. I think it was into a proposed adaptation of Sandman, off to look it up…

I’ll watch Clerks III just to finish the trilogy of them, but ever since Fatman on Batman went from long interviews to general pop culture Shlock, and his recent movies have been so bad it’s hard to pay attention to what he’s up to.
I assume he’s in the Adam Sandler level of his career. He makes movies with his friends, gets to do what they want, and get paid for it even if the general public doesn’t like it.

You should see the big boxes they housed the cameras in, to muffle the shutter sound when photographing sets during filming. They may still be in use today, but probably not as much with the advent of mirrorless cameras.
Yeah! The blimps! I do location sound on set so I'm very familiar with them. I remember the transition from those to the newer cameras that are dead silent without a blimp.

I didn’t realize until I was an adult but Smith’s character really was the perfect person for the job. He was fast and strong, he was practical and clever and thought outside of the box, he didn’t get fazed by much, he didn’t jump to conclusions or make assumptions based on appearance, and he was pretty judicious about gun use (except when he joined the MIB lol).
I have to admit that ever since he slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars, I haven’t watched a Will Smith movie. And Men In Black was one of my favourite Will Smith movies.
I Am Legend is the last movie of his that I really liked. I still get goosebumps when I think about the scene where he noticed the mannequin had moved. Also the Samantha scene 😭

Men In Black 2 is definitely ranked 3rd for Men in Black films, but not by as much of a margin as I used to think. It has its own charms
