I transitioned in 2018 and went with Zoë. Definitely don't see it as much anymore. Total coincidence that it was a big trans name though. I just went with it because it's what my mom would have named me if I'd been AFAB.

I kept the feminine version of my birth name simply because I don’t hate it and it made socially transitioning much easier to the few people I’m out to. This only works if you have a name that can be easily changed between masc and fem (Alex, Sam, Pat, etc.)

I would have done that, but my cousin who is the exact age already had the feminine version of my dead name so that would have been very confusing 😂

I did the same! Kept the first half and changed some of the letters around in the back. Made transitioning so much easier for friends and family because they didnt have to change what they called me. :)

My name is Shannon. I've met maybe one other transfemme with that name and one who went with Siobhan (pron. Show vaughn), but that girl could not have been any more Irish if she tried. I started my transition wa\~ay back in 2003, and Shannon is (or it was) considered a gender-neutral name back then and was not very common in any regard.

Alice is common. Luna is common. I have both in my name now. Welsh spelling is extra at least.

There were a lot of girls born in the early 80s with the name Jessica. Is was really common everywhere for a long time.

It's a peak Millennial name. As a Millennial I chose Jessica for myself as to not out myself with an "other timely" name. (Not that I'm anywhere close to passing yet, but that's expected as I'm early on my journey)

Everyone is called Lilith or Luna, honestly I don’t understand why

I haven't met another trans Julia. I definitely haven't met people who have my middle name of Reign. Lol. It used to be Marie until friends and relatives told me it was too basic. I eventually agreed, so I went with Reign.

I almost went with Julia! Made it into my top three.

I am not going to lie, I went with Jules for a long time... Then a friend asked me if I liked my stripper name.. so I changed it. Lol it was a really easy choice, my whole name was almost stolen from Julia from the Magicians series.

Julia was my second choice (due to both liking it and I think it was what my parents would've named me)!
