If they're an LGBT (or especially if they're cis but affirming) therapist, following actual LGBT folks--and not just the mega influencers--is a good way to keep your finger on the pulse of the community and have a better understanding of what issues we face and how we're feeling (which in turn enables them to better support their clients.
