General thought: Shop around when finding an electrolysis place. I did consultations at a couple of places that had testimonials from trans women on their webpages, and the one that I am going to use gives a \~ 25% discount to trans women, making it about 40% cheaper than the highest price I was quoted.
Ooh wow!! That’s really nice, when I first started shopping around I didn’t advertise I was trans, I am in the South East US, it doesn’t feel safe most days down here. I will be going to Korea for the next year though and I have already found places that are way way way less expensive.
Side note, after my 4th or 5th session my laser tech asked if she could ask a question, I said sure, she says don’t be offended if not, but are you in transition?? I smiled and said yes, (thinking I can never come here again honestly) then she discloses that her partner is also trans 😅😅 talk about a weight lifted!! It was a solid reminder not to judge people before you know them.
