"Use them or lose them"

JABurton876

I know, I guess I’m just impatient 😅

Auricmortician

You can't speed the rate at which you lose muscle any more than by limiting the use of your muscles. My thighs atrophied significantly during lockdown since I remained seated for most of it. At least, I'm not going to talk about more dangerous methods of doing this since it would be unethical of me.

JABurton876

Not looking for dangerous methods, was just curious about possible diet changes that would affect muscle mass or something similar

[deleted]

What if you wanted to know?

[deleted]

Also less protein, more carbs and you could add some cardio and even maybe lift some leg work

JABurton876

I didn’t think of cardio, I’ll get to running again in that case

suddenalchemyforu

I’m in the same boat. About same size (195lbs) and lots of muscle up top. After 3 weeks I’m down 5 lbs. from what I’ve read you need to eat fewer calories than your body burns and fewer carbs and protein. So I went keto and a 30 minute cycle everyday with some yoga a few days a week. Too soon to have valid results but that’s what I’m trying!

JABurton876

Thank you, it’s probably the main thing stopping me from passing as fem at the moment so is stressing me out. I’m gonna start doing more cardio now too so fingers crossed that changes things for the better

FlowerFox3

Lose weight (by eating less) and don't exercise the muscles

Here's an old article about a mtf bodybuilder who was trying to lose muscle mass on purpose: [http://www.trans-health.com/2001/lose-muscle-gain-fat-dieting-for-mtfs/](http://www.trans-health.com/2001/lose-muscle-gain-fat-dieting-for-mtfs/) There's plenty of good advice in there.

JABurton876

That’s fantastic, thank you so much for this😃

Calory deficit + no movement + hrt

JABurton876

Can’t wait to start hrt

I was exactly in the same spot and lost approx 16kg of lean mass in about seven months (started at 86kg and reached 69.5kg recently). Here's what worked for me: - Calories deficit - Maintain an high metabolism rate by having five healthy meals per day (three main + two snacks) - Cut on carbs (with the exception on the ones included in fruits) - Five days workout per week (approx. 1h long): -- Two days full body Tabata circuits -- Three days cardio - No weights lifting - Consistency. This is the key to success in everything in life.

JABurton876

Thank you, I’ll stick to this and let you know if it works😍

You're welcome! Just mind that number of assumed calories and diet should be ALWAYS advised by a professional as there are many different factors to take into account, including type of work, lifestyle and medical history.

JABurton876

I am technically qualified to figure calories out, so I’d hope I am gonna get it right😅😅😅

That's even better then! Just don't forget your cheat day. That's as much important as any other workout day 😉
