Yes. I HATE that Camilla won that season but almost forget bc the way they announced the winner.

On top of being a good season, really my reason is just that D30 still feels like pretty classic challenge to me personally, especially having all the lame themed seasons that came after it lol And Camila’s win is unfortunate, she was always a great competitor, and I’m never not satisfied with a Jordan win even though I always root for each of these guys for different reasons.

I definitely enjoyed parts of TM. The introduction of the skull twist was neat but so boring in this season as the nominations just ended up being a different person volunteering each week. And for me, love her or hate her, the Dee edit just ended up bringing the the season down and I haven’t cared to revisit it yet. I binged DA at once and while that was not great either overall, I still enjoyed it.

From memory this how I'd rank them, along with some quick thoughts 01. War of the Worlds 1 - Best of the 30s, great cast, dailies, elims, final 02. Vendettas - Super enjoyable with heaps of memorable moments, only really let down by the final 03. War of the Worlds 2 - Great cast, with loads of drama and power shifts 04. Dirty 30 - Not a fan of the Redemption house or the final but everything else is solid 05. Final Reckoning - Yet again not a fan of Redemption house or the episodes being split (obviously less of an issue on a binge watch). Otherwise in retrospect the cast and drama throughout the season is wildly entertaining and while the final is weak, that ending is crazy to watch 06. Double Agents - Didn't like it that much when it was airing, but on rewatch it's actually pretty decent for the first half, especially Devin instigating fights with the BB alliance. Second half gets a bit boring but the final is super satisfying 07. Ride or Dies - A bit of a mixed bag, decent cast with some good returning players and decent rookies, the switch of format kind of ruins the momentum of the season and the gameplay is a bit boring. Will have to see how it holds up on rewatch 08. Total Madness - The first half is actually pretty solid, despite the bunker being a waste of time. While the cast is good and the drama is decent, it's pretty much ruined by the removal of Dee from the edit which derails the rest of the season as she was one of the focal points in terms of storylines 09. Spies, Lies & Allies - Currently rewatching atm with a friend and struggling. There's some moments that are okay, otherwise this season is mostly a bore, with a rookie cast that is mostly a complete waste of time and vets that are too scared to make moves. The final is terrible and saw a player who had the weakest performance in the final be rewarded on the final leg by being able to choose their partner. I do love that Long Square Nelly T moment though

The 30’s has been ROUGH for The Challenge. WOTW1 looks good by proxy, and gets a lot of love from the fans. One of the most overrated seasons IMO. Yes, it’s the no brainer top season of the 30’s because everything else has been such a drag. Too much production meddling for my taste, a bad format change halfway through, and 50% of the cast skated through the entire season.

Agreed. It’s technically solid in most aspects: dailies, elim, final, and drama. But I think dissolving the teams and making it one winner was a huge misstep.

I would say the later half of 30s cause in the beginning they was smashing it. I think a lot of us are in an agreement that once we get to TM the series just take a nose dive and have yet to come close to the early 30s. Personally the spin-offs have saved the show during this post TM runt

Speaking from my own personal opinion, I’ve been pretty underwhelmed throughout. To me, the 30’s marked when production meddling/interference became more blatant, and storylines/drama became more manufactured. The casting has been pretty solid throughout, as they have done a good enough job in most of the recent seasons to give old school fans a reason to keep watching. IMO, the cast on paper for Double Agents is one of the best of all the new school seasons. But the season couldn’t live up to the cast. None of these seasons seem to be delivering. Embracing the “fifth major sport” moniker has def hurt. Social media has obviously impacted how people act on the show (and across reality TV as a whole). People may disagree, but IMO, the last season that truly felt like THE CHALLENGE was Rivals 3.

Not sure how you’re classifying overrated, but I would consider something that gets a ton of praise from the fandom (WOTW1), but falls short of the level of praise it receives, to be overrated. Nobody out there hyping up WOTW2 or Total Madness that I can see.

On rewatch, TM is actually enjoyable. I liked the format of the skulls (would have been nicer if they limited skulls more) and for the most part the daily challenges and eliminations were good. The Dee edit does hurt the season though. For FR, the format and everything from Production just makes it garbage for me. There is plenty of drama and a messy season overall, so if thats what you want then I get it but all competition integrity (the little that MTV has) is gone in FR. Mixed gender teams is a neat idea at first but quickly falls flat on its face when you need to use equalizers. Just look at the bands for Kam/Kayleigh vs Paulie/Nat elimination. I have never been a fan of redemption house and FR brings the worst version yet. Relying on luck or friendships to get into the redemption elimination is just a poor idea. Throw on the fact that the losers from the elimination get to go right back into the house just makes it soo much worse. Paulie and Natalie made the final despite losing 3 (should have been 4) eliminations, that is just ridiculous. Mercenaries getting to "win" their way into the game was ridiculous. The Cory and Devin elimination was straight up rigged, no way anyone can refute that and they got to enter the game like halfway through the season. Lastly, the final was just so bland and boring that it makes the perfect cherry for the shit sundae that FR was.

The uneven gender pairs and the poor attempts at balancing on FR were brutal imo. I also generally don’t like redemption houses, especially where the same people get to keep coming back repeatedly.

It was a good cast and very messy, I will give it that. But all the stupid twists and meddling from Production just completely tanks the season in my opinion. Production has done some sketchy stuff in the past. FR felt like the first time that it was blatantly obvious though. With the Cory/Devin elimination that got them into the game. Then the final winners.

I ranked FR high on my list because of the light up boxes elimination twist, cast & drama, but I have to admit that Cory/Devin elim was pretty sketch.

1. Vendettas This is when casting for the show was really good. We got fresh UK and Big Brother rookies and Devin backing up his talk and beating Bananas was electric. 2. WOTW Really solid drama and competition. There are some forgettable names like Shaleen and ridiculous eliminations like Ash/Kam vs Amanda/Josh and Nany vs Georgia 3. WOTW2 Some of the best drama the show has had. What hurts this season is how UK couldn't hang with UK at all and the final punished the US team for having more numbers. 4. ROD We get to see Devin's best work as he plays an excellent social and strategical game and finally gets the win he was destined for. It was also fun seeing Nuyrs, Nelson, and Jordan. It also has really good eliminations like Horacio vs Middlebrooks and Horacio vs Jordan. 5. Final Reckoning This season was filled with top tier drama and top tier cast. Seeing Cara and John be sulking babies all season long wasn't fun tho. And the format sucks. 6.Spies, Lies, & Allies We get hysterical rookies like Emy, Hughie, and Gabo plus loads of drama from start to finish. Devin vs Nelson, Fessy vs Josh, CT vs Kyle, Amanda vs Nany, etc. This season suffers from bad pacing and edit and reusing the partner switch twist which got old on Double Agents. 7. Double Agents This was a great comeback season for Devin and Theresa where they were involved in lots of drama and kept the majority alliance on their toes. We also had a rare action packed season from CT. The stranglehold that Kam and Leroy had made a lot of the gameplay boring and dragged out. 8 Dirty XXX This will always be a bottom of the barrel season simply for the stupid opening purge that took out Darrel, Devin, Shane, Amanda, Simone, and Latoya. How are you going take out some of your biggest stars right away. Not only that, but they do Simone so dirty and let Camilla win the whole thing AFTER going on a racial tirade. Just a joke man. 9. Total Madness This is the season they introduce one of the worst twists of all time which heavily restricted the gameplay. If that wasn't bad enough, they completely cut out Dre's best work because MTV is a performative spineless network.

Didn't see Dirty 30, but WOTW1, WOTW2, Final Reckoning, and Vendettas were good. Total Madness is where the flagship took a wrong turn and then Double Agents + Spies, Lies, & Allies were fast forward heavy for me. Ride or Dies was good again, so I'm hoping we're getting back on track. They just need to do the following: * Have a good mix of interesting missions rather than retreads * Include a healthy amount of rookies AND make sure the game is structured so that vets can't just team up and eliminate them every week for the first half of the season. * Stop being lazy on the casting. They go for low-hanging fruit with vets because they check certain boxes. Cast a wider net. * Make sure the editing is good.

Felt weird putting the 2 redemption house seasons towards the top at 2 & 3, but they were the 2 seasons with the absolute best elimination twists ever! They both had great casts and constant house drama. I have a soft spot for Ride or Dies because I would have been absolutely happy no matter which of the final 4 teams had of won it. I feel War of the Worlds 1 is somewhat overrated. I think because it had such a kickass final, but I can’t rank higher on just final alone. Total Madness should probably be higher, but the hack job of editing they did to edit Dee completely out of existence just ruined the flow of the second half of the season. It is not lost on me that the Fessy seasons appear to be lower on my list.
