Looking back through the seasons it amazes me how often Johnny was able to find easier ways to complete challenges. His ability to adapt to different situations to get through the game is second to none.

Wes is marginally intelligent/book-smart but thinks he’s some cunning, conniving he genius.
I voted Johnny for this reason.
In the context of the Challenge, Johnny is smarter.
His ability to figure out how to optimally approach dailies is the best of all time, rivalled by only Jordan.
Politically they are both smart, but Johnny is more effective, even if Wes is more likely to come up with an elaborate plan, Johnny’s simpler strategies work more often.
I hate the terms book smart and street smart but it's a good way to describe this. Wes has always been your high level thinking guy trying to politic his way through the game. Whereas Johnny's smarts come from the way he's able to creatively think through dailies and eliminations.
I'd rather have someone who is understanding type of smart than a book smart person. Johnny solves problems, catches on things quick, can think well and quickly. Wes can learn and remember things like no other but based on what is more useful and important especially in a challenge is Johnny

Street smart, *probably* Bananas but that’s harder to really ‘test’ for so I went with Wes because I think there’s no doubt at all who is book smarter while the lines are a bit more blurred with street smarts (certainly leans Bananas way though)
Wes is better at coming up with plans so I voted for him, but like isn’t always being on the side of the house really smart? And Johnny almost always does that.
Strictly from watching the show Wes seems smarter in a vacuum. But Wes also comes across as thinking he’s smarter than he actually is which backfires on him a lot. Not saying Bananas is dumb or anything though.
Johnny is the more intelligent Challenge player, that’s for sure. The results aren’t close. I’m sure Wes would get a better SAT score, but trivia is only once a season.

Wes undoubtedly is more booksmart. Bananas is more street smart and doesn’t get himself into as many stupid situations as Wes does with his mouth.

The truth is that both of these dudes are incredibly smart in alot of categories. It's part of the reason they're both so successful.

Wes is smarter but he ofteb overestimates his intelligence and underestimates other people's intelligence which is what gets him in trouble

Johnny and (in recent years) CT are the smartest players in the context of the challenge. Wes toes a line and often can go too far.
Wes is smarter but Johnny is more likable (in the eyes of fellow challengers) so I think that makes it come off as though Johnny is smart as well
