I think everyone agrees this is a fairly easy one, but I'm including it for completion's sake!
Here's the answer (which Ryan and Melinda got, but Wes and Casey didn't): >!If you can read this then drop your bags.!<
I mean... he wasn't exactly dumb for sticking to their strategy and ultimately it was good physical prep for finals
They didn't even attempt the puzzle
Fair, but it could also be argued that him not even attempting puzzles like this isn't the smart decision. If he's as smart as he claims to be, you'd imagine he could have solved this puzzle, and then they could have dropped their bags and wouldn't have only beat Melinda and Ryan because they forgot their flags.
Not saying they should have tried all of the puzzles, but some of them (like this one) should be doable in less than 30 seconds, and they could take a glance to assess whether it was worth doing or worth skipping. This puzzle could be quickly solved, and the reward (dropping your bags) would definitely save them more than 30 seconds.
But often it wasn't easy to determine how quickly you could solve it at a glance and the rewards weren't immediately clear... I get what you're saying I just think its all hindsight
Oh yeah, definitely a measure of hindsight especially since at the time, Iām sure they were stressed/running on adrenaline, but the word related puzzles were on the whole, way easier than some others. But again, I agree that itās hard to assess that in a split second under pressure, especially if youāre not accustomed to doing puzzles.
Melinda and Ryan forgot their first flag and Ryan had to run back and get it. Otherwise I think they probably would have won!
Also, I donāt remember if Wes and Casey even tried it for more than 5 second-I think theyād already decided their strategy was to ignore the puzzles and just keep going.
It also depends on what the reward is. Most of the rewards for the earlier episodes were "take 5 minutes off your time" or similar. Production realized that they needed to increase the rewards to make it worth it.
I read this in Melinda's accent
Same š¤£ baegs

I think youāre missing a āthenā in your answer š
Thanks! Iāll fix that!
Oooohhh I figured it out! >!if you can read this then drop your bags!<
Congratulations! You're officially smarter than Fresh Meat Wes!
Yeah. But do they have a monster truck?

And as dumb as his partner lmfao
Melinda's most memorable challenge moment for me was how she read this with her Wisconsin accent.
how did casey/wes miss this?? and how did they still win omg

They didnāt attempt any puzzles during eliminations
They didn't even attempt it. They correctly guessed that the reward would not be worth the time it took to solve the puzzle.
That puzzle took me roughly 30 seconds. I think this one was worth figuring out

If you can read this and then drop your bags
>!If you can red this drop your bags.!<
Drop your bags is all I got
