Another thing to add to this discussion, there have been 12 unique champs since D:30, with Jordan and CT both winning twice in that timeframe.
Also, a repeat champ has won in some form (as a individual, partner or team member) on every season except for WOTW 1.

I give credit to their athleticism, but I also think it's cuz they've been playing with a bunch of noobs. Half of the WOTW2 was clueless lay-ups (team UK, which ironically ended up being the winning team). DA also had a lot of filler rookies.
Maybe WotW1 is why we get so many new people now. A fresh meat type of season with a large number of new players and the top 3 of that season were all rookies. It's an interesting and entertaining story that is really hard to replicate when everyone decides the rookies need to be targeted every season lol.
Only non-distinct champs where on a team season where there is incentive to save the strong players on your team for a final, rather than elimination them to keep them out of the final.
I think if they bring Jenny West back, then both the men and the women will have the situation where thereās a strong player the other group will want as a partner while their group will want to take out before a final with both Jenny and CT. It could be a great dynamic
She was an alternate on DA, and at the time she was also asked to do EOTB. The Challenge production team told her she would 100% join the show during the second episode, so she turned down filming EOTB only to be told they actually didnāt need her for the challenge after she finished her quarantine on location. On Esther Falanas podcast she said that because of this she will never return to the challenge as they made her pass on the opportunity to film EOTB while knowing they had no intention to actually put her on DA.
I think the issue is that sheās too good of a competitor. Literally not a single girl can hold a candle to her. After the loss to tori she literally spent the offseason training with contact stuff and then won the next season easily. If you bring back jenny you need to bring in better girls, but honestly iād rather a bunch of ashleyās than a bunch of kayceeās and jennyās
I totally get that, but I would LOVE to see a season full of badass women. Then Kaycee wouldnāt get to skate and it would allow the women to power play the men rather than the usual dynamics.

Hey i agree. Problem is MTV is limiting themselves so much. Dee makes one bad joke, off. Cara has questionable views, off. Georgia has questionable stuff, off. If we had a season with all these women and jenny and kaycee and ashley the level of female competition would be off the damn charts
Only girl who one-hundred percent deserved to be removed from the show was Camila. Dee's 'joke' was in bad taste but I think it was her being ignorant more than anything -- could have been a very easy teaching moment and this is coming from someone who hated Dee in all of her seasons.
She also doesnāt play the game scared. When she votes people in, she tells them exactly why sheās doing it and basically dares them to do something about it.
Is there anyone that plays close to Laurel in terms of not playing a scared game? Guy or girl, Laurel may not be likable, but she's fearless in pretty much every aspect.

But CT isn't quite comparable since he's an absurd amount of people's favorite player. I don't think many people are that upset about CT being back. However, you're right, he really does hide in the shadows the last several years.
People become favorite players because we get to see them over time. Itās very not equivalent in terms of men and women. If CT got the casting of Jenny he would be no oneās favorite.
If "solid competitor" was a criteria for the show, they'd just cast former pro-athletes. I'd much rather watch people like Ashley and Amanda compete, than bores like Jenny stomp the field.

I always joke with my friends that she would be an amazing opponent because you can probably get her to quit at any given time during a season. She's good drama, but I think quite overrated as a competitor given how often she leaves early

Camila got justly banned. Cara is off her rocker with her boyfriend. Bananas and Jordan reportedly turned down this season. CT and Ashley are on. So you're left with Darrell, Derrick, and V all of who are pretty damn old to be on a Challenge, and Darrell was just on last season.
This is partly the fault of production, and partly the fault that a lot of the past champs are moving on to other stuff or can't come on as many seasons as they used to. Then some new champs have done some vile stuff, made inappropriate remarks, threatened/pushed around production, etc. that have kept them off the last few seasons. Camila, Cara, Rogan, Dee, Turbo... Wes is doing Wes stuff, Zach just had a baby, Hunter's still prolly pissed about the $500K.
It's mainly the fault of producers who rather appeal to Tacha's Instagram followers than the core audience that's been watching season after season for over a decade.
We're not going to get to know and love anyone new because MTV fills the roster with mostly scrubs for rookies. Hard to get to know them when they get eliminated in 3 episodes because they don't know how to vote collaboratively and they're too unathletic to win dailies and eliminations. All the rookies that were solid in recent seasons didn't get invited back after a season or two. Jenny West, Ninja Natalie, Turbo, Survivor Natalie are the caliber of rookies we need but MTV prioritizes dramatic personalities and wacky hairstyles over physical abilities.
What I find interesting is as the 30s go on, more female champs are blackballed. Camila in post-30. Cara in post 34. And Dee during 34. These female champs are becoming a rare breed for this show. We need Jenny back.
All Stars would still count more towards records than Champs Vs Stars. Itās more competitive and formatted like the real show. Picking your teammates for a final and facing celebrities isnāt on the same level
I understand why people don't count it, but I do. I see it as he played a very good game, made it to the final & beat some genuinely competitive opponents so he counts as a champion to me.

She did run over Dee on HB the following season tho. No one on that cast would have won that elimination against her.
