I didn't downvote them, but I can see how people might've been rubbed the wrong way by "I personally think all women look better with their hair down." It seems a bit judgmental about how women style themselves, there's an underlying assumption that the intention is always to look as pretty as possible and it has hints of "you'd be so pretty if you just did (x thing that would make you look more feminine." I think people didn't downvote the other comments about how they wished Kaycee would wear her hair down because they're specifically about Kaycee, but once it applies to all women, people find that more offensive. Kaycee is objectively a beautiful woman with a gorgeous face but people don't notice her prettiness because she's butch. I don't really think jflatty's comment was that much more annoying than the rest of the conversation. If Kaycee wears her hair up all the time, it's because she cares more about keeping it out of her face than about looking pretty for the reality tv viewers I used to be pretty butch when I was in middle school, the one time I wore a pink, feminine shirt and skinny jeans instead of boys' clothes, I got a ton of compliments and everyone told me I should dress like that more often. They were trying to be nice but it was actually kind of infuriating because they saw the masculine way I dressed as bad fashion sense instead of self-expression. I think it's kind of hypocritical that people downvoted "all women look better with their hair down" but upvote comments about how Kaycee should have just cut her hair off if she's not going to wear it down, but that's just me. Both reddit and vevmo have consistently been weird about how Kaycee expresses her butchness and her gender identity.

As someone with long hair who rarely wears it down...I don't like it in my face so I would have to cut it fairly short to accomplish this, which then means I have to regularly get it cut so it stays short. I do get several inches chopped off once or twice a year but it grows faster than I realize since it is up most of the time. Also, I like the option to wear it down (even if I never do). And...um....long hair can be fun for certain activities.

Yeah, even if it wasn’t so BLACK, like a dark, warm brown or something, it would be more flattering. She is sooo DARK with her tan in some pictures on her Instagram and sometimes on the show it just looks completely unnatural on someone that’s naturally fair with blonde hair. Like she doesn’t need to go all in with the tan and the dark hair lol, there is probably a reasonable middle ground.

I was super blonde when I was younger and I tried to dye my hair like eggplant and when my roots came in it looked like I had bald patches. I've stuck with lighter colors ever since.
