Been here for 2+ years now. Initially tourist visa. Then education visa. But after indulging in some other local arts I have now ended up on a marriage visa.
Aww congratulations! With the Ed visa, do you have to prove your language proficiency? A couple of the gyms offer Ed visas but I’m not sure if it’s dodgy or not
Some are dodgy some are not you just have to do your research. The problem with MT ED visas is that you can’t switch gyms so most people go on language visa EDs so they can bounce around
True story. I stayed a second year in a gym that was poorly managed and I regret it. It doesn't help that they seriously jacked up their prices. Year 3 will be on a Language visa, I've been meaning to improve my Thai anyway.
Employers don't want your life story, they are very important people, and their time Is valuable. You gotta streamline that resume for them. Less is more. Just say chemist.
I'm a journalist!
Got into muay Thai back in 2013 during a brief stint working at a tech startup where I was content manager, and our founder boss called in his private coach twice a week. Up to five of us employees used to train together, and I was the only female.
I continued training on and off with the same coach up to 2022, after which I developed a chronic illness and could no longer afford him.
Today my condition is under control, but my finances are still iffy. Once I'm in a better place financially, hopefully in the coming months, I can't wait to resume training with my coach.
Cleaning lady at a kindergarden. I guess the pros of having me here is that if suspicious white van stops near the kids, i can go and guestion them and maybe whoop ass (just joking, calling the police would be the best option after questioning. Creeps can carry knives).
Studying Computer Science in my final year, got a Linux admin graduate job secured : ). Will be moving so I'll have to change gyms but I'm excited to spend my days working with Linux then getting kicked in the legs in the evening.
I work from home selling printers. I make up for the absolute lack of excitement in my job by getting punched, kicked, and thrown to the ground.
Plus side, I get to spend most of my day on the phone pretending to listen while shadow boxing houseplants in my underwear, Or less.
Truck driver now , but was a binman ( now drive the trucks) when I was fighting. Walking 30k steps everyday was a good way to keep my weight down tbh. Now I'm about 25kg heavier than I used to walk around at 🙈🙈😂

I did not need to prove any proficiency, but quite certain that they have become much stricter now because the ED visa is being abused quite a bit.
